Chapter 71: A Chance Encounter in Xiangyang (2)

"Master Guangyuan, it should be that young man. Let's go after him now, they shouldn't have gone far."

Guangyuan was overjoyed and said, "Okay, since Mr. Zhao is willing to take action, then let's hurry up and don't let him run away."

Guangyuan's senior brother, Monk Guangji, chanted the Buddha's name and said nothing more. He agreed to the request of the two, so they came to the previous street.

At this time, Guo Hao and the other two had already entered an inn and asked for two rooms, Li Fu himself, and he and Guo Fu were all day long.

Perhaps because he didn't steal things often, Guo Hao did not have the awareness of doing bad things at all. After knowing that this is Xiangyang, he wanted to learn about this ancient city.

Except for the Battle of Mongolia and Song, Xiangyang rarely serves as an ancient battlefield. The stories written by Jin Daqiu happened here in later generations. Moreover, it is not far from Wudang Mountain, but the Wudang Sect has not yet appeared.

Guo Hao and the three of them wandered around the city, planning to relax and go back to the inn after dinner.

On the other side, Zhao Yuanlang and Guangyuan looked for Guo Hao everywhere, but Guo Hao was not on that street. They looked at it for a long time but didn't notice it, so they planned to give up.

"Young Master, look, there is a temple there. Let's go in and worship. We can live here, maybe it's the blessing of the Buddha!"

Guo Hao was speechless when he heard this, thinking that no matter how good things are, he would pay the credit to the Buddha. Perhaps it was because of the prosperity of Buddhism in the Tang Dynasty that made the people develop a habit.

Guo Hao thought so in his heart, but he was still quite interested in the temple. There is a Xiangguo Temple in Kaifeng. He always wanted to go there, but he didn't have the chance. Let's take a look here first today.

So the three of them entered the temple and found that the temple was not big, there were not many Buddhist temples inside, there was a tree in the yard, next to it was a guest room, and the quaint fragrance was similar to some temples in later generations.

There are not many guests in the temple, and naturally there are not many monks. There are only one monk in the Bodhisattva Hall meditating.

The three of them entered the Bodhisattva Hall. Guo Hao looked up at the Bodhisattva statue above his head. Li Fu and Guo Fu both knelt down and kowtow, but Guo Hao stood aside.

"Amitabha, since the donor has come, why not bow down to him?"

The monk looked at Guo Hao, and Guo Hao smiled and said, "The master doesn't know anything, but I've actually worshipped me."

"Oh? The donor has neither burned incense nor bowed. How could he say he has worshipped me?"

"Burning incense and praying for rituals is only the surface, but only the inner piety is true. I have prayed devoutly in my heart. I believe that the Bodhisattva will not care about these ordinary rituals."

Guo Hao said this, but he felt that this monk was a little troublesome. He had just stole the monk's money and now you ask him to worship the Bodhisattva. Wouldn't this be slap yourself in the face?

"Haha, what the donor said sounds reasonable, but for a lifetime, the courtesy cannot be abolished. If the young master is pious, why should he care about this courtesy?"

Guo Hao originally wanted to look around and satisfy his curiosity, but he didn't expect that this monk would be more serious.

"The master said I care about this ritual, but I said that the Bodhisattva does not care. No one knows whether the Bodhisattva cares. Even if I pray, can the Bodhisattva pass me out of the sea of suffering?"

"Since the donor mentioned the sea of suffering, the burning house of reincarnation, indulging in the sea of suffering, and being stubborn for a long night, he cannot change it. As long as he is sincere, he will naturally be able to pass it."

"Haha, sincerity can be passed down, but can one be eaten as a food? If you haven't thought about this temple, can you all eat the wind and dew?"

"Amitabha, donor, you are attached to appearances. Although it is a sea of suffering, it is also a practice. People are all suffering in life, but they are also experience."

For some reason, Guo Hao felt a little awkward when he heard the word "attached to the image". It seemed that Buddhism could not tell the other party, so he would say so.

"Since you said it's experience, it can be seen that this is also something that people must experience. I have heard a story below:

One day, one person went to a temple to visit. When he walked to the front hall, he saw two powerful statues of Vajra gods, and one of them asked.

‘Which of these two Vajras is more important?’

The monk replied casually: "Of course it is the one with a larger fist!"

When they arrived at the back hall, they saw Guanyin holding a rosary, and each of them asked: "Since Guanyin is already a Bodhisattva, why do you still count the rosary in his hand?"

The monk said, "She prays like a mortal!"

‘Who did she pray to?’

‘She prayed to Guanyin Bodhisattva!’

‘Isn’t she the Guanyin Bodhisattva herself? Why do she still pray to herself?’

The monk said, 'This is better to ask for oneself than to ask others!'"

After Guo Hao finished speaking, Monk Guangji raised his head, looked at Guo Hao carefully, showed a look of surprise, and stood up to salute.

"Amitabha, the donor said the most ritual, but I am attached to the appearance."

Guo Hao was proud of himself, but he still replied with a look of intimidation on his face. Li Fu and Guo Fu were stunned by the sight.

"This donor has a good understanding of Buddhism and is more thorough than the one who can see it."

"I just know a little bit about where I am."

When Guo Hao was in the Hanlin Academy, he learned some Buddhism with the monk. He was also bored at that time, and sometimes it was quite interesting to chat with the monk.

"Haha, the donor is too modest. Since he has come, he is destined to be a good person. It's better to drink tea in the yard. I've got some new tea recently, which is very interesting."

The monk wanted to invite him to have tea, but Guo Hao felt that there was no place to go. The new tea he mentioned should be fried tea, so he took the opportunity to learn about the customer's situation.

"Since the master invites you, that kid is not polite."

"Haha, Huiyuan, go make tea."

"knew."

After Monk Guangji finished speaking, a crisp sound came from inside. It must be a little monk.

The two sat down in the yard. They had a stone table and two stone benches under them, and a chessboard was on them, but Guo Hao was not very good at playing chess.

Soon the little shaman brought two bowls of tea. Guo Hao picked it up and smelled it. It turned out to be Longjing from West Lake. This tea is of high quality.

"What a tea, the master is very tasty."

"Haha, I don't understand these things either. They are all given by pilgrims and good people. In my opinion, they are not as real as food."

Guo Hao took a sip and felt that good tea would not be soaked, which was a pity, but he nodded because what he said was the truth.

"This tea comes from the southern country, and the Jiangnan region has a wealth of people. People can have enough food and drink some tea when they have nothing to do. But it is different in the northern country. Years of natural disasters and man-made disasters have made life a luxury, let alone drinking tea."

"What the donor said is very true, and I think so too."

The two were chatting in the yard. At this time, the door of the temple was pushed open. Guangyuan and Zhao Yuanlang walked in. Guo Hao and Monk Guangji looked up. When they saw Guangyuan, Guo Hao looked like a ghost.

"Senior brother, I didn't catch it, let that little thief..."

Halfway through Guangyuan's words, he suddenly saw Guo Hao sitting on a stone bench, and the expression on his face instantly changed from astonishment to anger.

"Just, that's him!"

Guangyuan's fat body was a little excited. He looked back at Zhao Yuanlang and then at his senior brother Guangji.

Li Fu and Guo Fu were also shocked. Why did they forget this? Guo Hao had stole a fat monk's wallet before.

"Ahem, actually this is a misunderstanding. This master is also from this temple?"

Compared to Li Fu and his two guilty feelings, Guo Hao was so thick-skinned that he didn't think much. If he could meet this, he would only mean that he was not lucky.

"Misunderstanding? You stole my money and dared to come to my temple. I have never seen a thief as brave as you. I will return the money to me, otherwise I will take you to see the official!"

Monk Guangyuan shook his fat body. The more Guo Hao looked at him, the more he felt that he deserved a beating. He looked back at Guangji, and Guangji stood up at this time.

"Amitabha, this donor, is Guangyuan really saying it?"

Guo Hao silently took out Guangyuan's wallet when he heard this. Guangyuan's eyes lit up when he saw it.

"Look, I'll just say it's him. When I came back, I only met him, so there was no one else except him."

After saying that, Guangyuan stepped forward, grabbed his wallet, opened it and looked at it, and found that it was missing three stagnants and became popular immediately.

"This money is wrong. Did you spend it? Return it to me quickly, otherwise I will take you to see the official!"

Monk Guangyuan relied on Zhao Yuanlang here and was not worried about Guo Hao at all. However, Guo Hao did it after hearing this and took a sip of tea slowly.

"I really have to spend the money, but I can't give it to you anymore. Now I have a penny of my identity. Even if you take me to meet the official, I can't repay you. If the official arrests me, your money will be completely gone!"

"you……"

Guangyuan was so angry that he looked back at Zhao Yuanlang and said, "Mr. Zhao, I think he is a scoundrel. He bullies the monk and my teacher. Now it's time for you to come forward. If he is still a scoundrel, teach him a lesson!"
