Chapter 21(1/2)

Putting aside the opening of the fals itself, the simple Spring Festival is actually no different from usual. But today there is no one at home, so she can stay in bed for a while longer than usual.

The sound of firecrackers that had been ringing all night finally disappeared completely at seven or eight in the morning. Jane Xing lay on the bed and watched the light slowly overflowing in the room. After a while, she got up to make a meal.

Before noon, the weather changed. The wind blew the windows and the small stool in the yard was lifted up, and a loud noise occurred on the ground. Jian Xing was shocked when he heard it in the house.

She opened the window and looked outside. It was cloudy, and the wind was mixed with snow, and it hurt a little through the crack in the window to her eyes.

Jian Xing closed the window, got up and went outside. There were some New Year's goods in the yard. Jian Xing moved all the things to the kitchen before turning around and entering the main hall.

At around 1:00 p.m., heavy snow fell. In just half an hour, the ground had been covered with white, red firecracker paper was covered, everything was quiet, without any joyful New Year atmosphere.

Jian Xing held the hot water cup and sat at the desk staring at the heavy snow outside.

The hot water in the cup rose white smoke and covered the window to blur the world. Jian Xing looked at it for a long time before reaching out to wipe it.

She originally wanted to draw a clear area, but she unconsciously drew a simple rabbit.

The rabbit's ears are very long and pointed, like Xu Zhengqing's ears.

She looked at the corners of her lips curled up.

At this time, a phone call came from Jian Ru's room. Jian Xing looked at the time and knew that it was Jian Ru who came to ask her what she had eaten for lunch.

She put down the water cup, and the phone was still thinking as she passed by. After the call was connected, Jian Ru's impatient voice came immediately: "Why are you so slow? What are you doing?"

The expected tone did not cause any emotional turmoil in Jane Xing. She said, "I didn't hear it in my room."

"Then keep the door open," Jian Ru asked, "what did you eat for lunch?"

Jane Xing said: "Cooked dumplings."

"You're so lazy that you don't know how hot you have so many dishes."

Jian Xing didn't answer.

Grandma's voice came from the other end of the phone, and some other sounds of smoothing out the situation. Jian Xing could hear it was the uncle's uncle's voice.

The Jian family only has an old house in their hometown and has been idle for many years and cannot live in it. Every year when they go back to their hometown to visit their graves, they temporarily live in the Lu family.

The place is small and there are many people, so Jian Ru usually doesn't let Jian Xing go back and squeeze.

She had a special stubbornness towards Jane Xing and did not like Jane Xing to live these aggrieved lives.

Jian Xing smiled and said hello to everyone, and the phone was returned to grandma. Grandma quietly told her that there was money hidden in the pillow in the room and asked her to take it to play with her friends.

Jane Xing smiled and said, "I understand."

Grandma said again: "If you are scared at night, please ask your classmates if they come to play at home."

"Who is willing to go out during the New Year," said Jane Xing, "Don't worry, I'm not afraid."

"Okay, okay, just don't be afraid, just don't be afraid." Grandma repeated it many times before hanging up the phone.

Jian Xing sat on the edge of the bed for a while before getting up and leaving. Before leaving, she felt something was wrong, so she walked to the door before looking back at the bed.

Two beds were laid out properly on the bed, like a roommate who was not disturbing each other.

In fact, most couples choose to sleep separately when they are middle-aged, but Jian Xing remembers that Jian Ru and Lu Cheng were not so separated in the past. They usually had a small quilt with a large quilt on them, and now they are separated as a whole.

Even a clear gap was divided.

Jian Xing glanced at him and left without much reaction.

I simply heated two dishes at night, and after eating them casually, Jian Xing got into my grandma's house.

This room is small, and turning on a warm light can quickly warm the whole room. There is an old movie on the TV. Jian Xing just took a look and lay down in the bed.

She didn't play with her cell phone, so she took time to charge her phone while Jian Ru was not at home.

Early the next morning, Jian Xing received another call from Jian Ru. He gave the same old advice, Jian Xing answered like a process.

Today is the second day of the lunar month, Jian Ru and the others will go to visit the Lu family first, and will go to visit the Jian family tomorrow, and will not come back in the afternoon.

Jian Xing had nothing to do, so he simply went back to the house to play with his cell phone.

It’s a pity that Chen Yanbai didn’t wake up early in the morning, so she had to go back to her desk to do the exam.

In the afternoon, there was a friend in Jianxing’s QQ list, which was Lin Jia.

[Lin Jia]: Will you have something to do tomorrow night? They want to join in advance to facilitate the gathering at that time~

[Zhujian]: At about what time?

[Lin Jia]: After dinner, it’s estimated that eight/9 o’clock?

Jian Xing calculated the time and replied: I might be late, it doesn’t matter, I won’t join the group, please tell me if you have something to do.

Lin Jia agreed readily.

The two chatted a few more casually. After Lin Jia went offline, Jian Xing received a message from Chen Yanbai and asked her to meet her at the sixth day of the first lunar month. Jian Xing said it was OK.

She and Chen Yanbai didn't talk a little. Just as they were about to go offline, the blue rabbit in the list suddenly lit up, and Jian Xing stopped the move to quit.

She stared at the rabbit, and there was an illusion that the rabbit was smiling at her.

She sat at the desk, and the window was on the left. The simple rabbit on the window had long disappeared, but Jane still remembered the outline of every stroke of it.

She held the phone next to the window, compared it to it, and drew the same one again.

Before supper, the snow stopped.

After having lunch, Jian Xing ran to the yard for free and piled up a snow rabbit. It was rare for the moon to appear at night. It was very round and far away. It shone down from afar, and only a thin layer of light was shining.

It is white, with a clear outline and looks gentle.

A little lonely, too.

Jane Xing originally wanted to pile something else, but the phone rang in the room again. Jane Xing sighed and went back to the room to report to Jane Liu about what happened tonight.

After hanging up the phone, Jian Xing didn't want to go out again.

Sometimes interest is a matter of moment.

She no longer had to worry about the rabbit, but just wrote two test papers while it was still early.

Before going to bed at night, Jian Xing always had the bed in Jian Ru's room, and the two separate quilts seemed to her like two worlds.

It turned out that not only she had a gap with them, but also with each other.

So what was the purpose of doing that back then?

Probably no one can answer her.

Even if she answered, it was not the answer she wanted.

The next day was the third year of junior high school. Because it started to snow again in the middle of the night, Jian Xing was reluctant to move in bed.

She knew that what she wanted to rely on was the comfort of being alone.

Before nine o'clock, the phone rang. Jian Xing pulled and dragged it, wrapped a cotton pajama to answer. Jian Ru explained a few words as usual and hung up the phone.

After hanging up the phone, Jian Ru said to Lu Cheng while packing her things: "Don't bring too much stuff, just bring some paper or something."

Lu Cheng asked: "Bring more clothes for mom, I'm afraid she will keep it there again."

"What else is left? What a shame? Are you still going to chat there?" Jian Ru said, "It's really interesting. She didn't have such a good heart when she was alive, and she couldn't finish chatting after she died, and she was not afraid of disturbing others' sleep."

Lu Cheng didn't say anything, but he still brought a coat.

The process of visiting graves is simple. Burn some yellow paper and burn some paper money. Leaning in front of the grave, kowtow is basically done.

After kowtow, Jian Ru cleaned up her things and said to Lu Cheng: "Let's go."

Lu Cheng knew that Jian Ru meant to leave some time for her grandma to speak, but seeing the heavy snow on the other side, Lu Cheng said, "Why don't we stay here."

"What else can she talk about when she leaves this?" Jian Ru handed over the umbrella and clothes in Lu Cheng's hand to her grandma, and pulled Lu Cheng away without saying anything.

The snow is getting heavier and heavier, and gradually there is a tendency to cover the sky and the temperature is getting lower and lower. The wind blows the snow away like a sudden overflowing fog.

Almost ten minutes passed, and Lu Cheng was a little worried, "Why don't I go and have a look, the time is almost done."

Jian Ru looked at the direction of the grave, and there was a vast white area and nothing could be seen. She felt a little uneasy out of thin air and asked Lu Cheng: "How long has it been?"

Lu Cheng said: "It's been almost ten minutes."

Jian Ru stared in that direction for a while, and walked over without saying a word.

It was not until she walked faster and faster that Lu Cheng vaguely realized something was wrong.

In previous years, my grandma chatted and didn’t leave any yellow paper or paper money, but she just asked for some.

Who did she want to burn it?

Lu Cheng's heart stagnated, and as he looked at the heavy snow, his pace became faster and faster.

Jian Xing hung up the phone and did not go to the kitchen to make meals as usual, but instead lay back on the bed.

I don’t know if it’s not long since Jian Ru came back, but Jian Xing was a little anxious. She couldn’t fall asleep completely after lying back to the bed, but instead felt uncomfortable by the accelerated heartbeat.

She sighed, got up helplessly, poured a cup of hot water and sat in front of the window.

The temperature difference inside and outside the house is too large, and a thick layer of fog is covered on the windows, so I can't see clearly what is outside and what the snow rabbit has become.

Jian Xing touched the window and it was a little ice. She turned around and took a piece of paper from the table. She was about to wipe the window, but she didn't expect that the window that was originally locked in death would suddenly be blown open.
