Chapter 18

Li Shuyi stayed in the office until 7 o'clock in the evening. He had not rested for two days and a night, and had not eaten much. He could no longer see the numbers on the report clearly, so he stopped working.

When the driver sent him back, he closed his eyes in the car for a while. He obviously didn't fall asleep, but when he arrived, the driver called him several times before he started to scream. His body was so tired that he was out of control of his brain.

Uncle Wu was happy when he saw him entering the door. He thought Li Shuyi would not come back. However, before the smile lasted for a few seconds, his brows frowned tightly.

Li Shuyi didn't even bother to take off her coat. She slowly sat on the sofa with her faintly achesed stomach and said to Wu Bo: "You have someone make me a portion of white porridge, don't put anything."

Wu Bo responded and poured him a cup of warm water. Li Shuyi nodded: "I'm in trouble."

Wu Bo felt Li Shuyi's politeness and alienation, and knew that the closeness and trust that he had finally established over the years had disappeared. But what could he say? Li Shuyi was like this, but because the existing environment made him feel no security, he could only erect a high wall to isolate himself.

Uncle Wu went to the kitchen, Li Shuyi looked around, and neither Bai Jing nor Ning Yue were there.

I think the two of them went out together.

He sat in the spacious and bright living room, and could see the traces left by himself after living here everywhere. He used to feel at ease, but now he is feeling like he is sitting on pins and needles, and every minute and second is suffering.

Uncle Wu quickly brought the white porridge and asked him if he wanted to add some appetizing side dishes. Li Shuyi shook his head, picked up the spoon with his uninjured hand and started drinking the porridge.

"Be careful," Uncle Wu reminded.

At this time, a person walked in outside the door, holding several lists in his hand and said to Uncle Wu: "Look, look, the things are almost done, and some large items are shipped tomorrow morning."

Uncle Wu looked at Li Shuyi very quickly. Seeing that he was not paying attention, he slightly avoided Li Shuyi and whispered to the man: "You are waiting for me outside."

The man was a little confused, but he quickly walked out.

When he walked away, Li Shuyi suddenly said, "You don't have to worry about me. It's all right now, what else can I accept?"

Uncle Wu sighed and said nothing. Li Shuyi only drank half a bowl of porridge and put it upstairs.

On the way, I suddenly received a call, and an old friend from the other side said, "Shu Yi, you often follow your child, and you are called Jin Yan, right?"

Li Shuyi stopped and walked: "Yes."

"Today he went to my place for dinner and made a fuss and beat the second son of Director Kong's house. I just heard from the people below that I realized that I'll give you some breath."

Li Shuyi frowned and continued, "I don't know the specific details very well, you'd better ask yourself."

"Okay, I understand. Thank you."

"Why are you polite?"

When Li Shuyi hung up the phone, he immediately dialed Jin Yan's number, and the voice over there was a low voice. Li Shuyi only said one sentence: "Go to my office at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning."

Jin Yan is not a person who likes to cause trouble. He has a very good personality and has never even gotten his temper in his daily life. If he hits someone, the other party will provoke him first. Moreover, the ten of them are related to Bai Hao. But Li Shuyi is too tired now and can't play with others. He can hide his sword in his smile. No matter how big the matter is, he will wait for tomorrow to deal with it.

I thought I could fall asleep soon after such extreme fatigue, but when Li Shuyi was lying in bed, the memories that were strongly suppressed by work emerged in his mind again.

He dared not take sleeping pills. He was once warned by the doctor that he had not had to take this pill again unless he had to. Li Shuyi could only close his eyes and constantly provide psychological counseling for himself, forcing himself to think about something that could calm his emotions.

As time passed by little by little, Li Shuyi's consciousness fell into chaos. He heard a vague sound, and he didn't even know whether he was asleep or awake.

"Yiyi..." The voice became clearer and clearer, and Li Shuyi heard someone calling his name.

"Look at the clothes your dad bought for you, do you like them?"

"Oh my brother! Where do boys wear such bright colors when they grow up!"

"Oh...If you don't like it, don't want it."

Li Shuyi was so anxious that he wanted to answer in his sleep, but before he could speak, someone broke down in his ear and cried bitterly the next second.

"The meaning of calligraphy..."

"Shu Yi, come back soon... If something happens at home, come back soon..."

The sound seemed to trigger something. Li Shuyi began to tremble, frowned, and a layer of cold sweat broke out on his forehead. The breathing sound in his nose was short and rapid.

The picture in front of him turned scarlet, and Jiang Manqing lay on the ground and shouted at him with a ferocious look: "Li Shuyi, go to die! Why don't you die! Why don't you die!"

Li Shuyi opened her mouth and gasped, grabbing her hands around her, as if she was suffering from extreme pain and was spasming.

"Li Shuyi!"

Someone was calling his name urgently, and a severe pain came from the middle of the person. Li Shuyi seemed to be dragged out of the water by someone, and the sound in his ears became clear in an instant.

He opened his eyes and first saw the dark ceiling. After a long time, he turned his eyes slowly, and then saw the person kneeling beside the bed and looking down at him.

The lights were not turned on in the room, and Li Shuyi's eyes seemed to be covered in mist in the darkness. He could not see the man's facial features and expressions on his face.

But he knew that it was Bai Jing.

Li Shuyi stretched out his hand and hugged Bai Jing's neck. Bai Jing also held his waist and hugged him into his arms as soon as he reached out. One hand kept gently caressing the slightly cool and wet skin on the back of his neck.

Every minute and every second, Li Shuyi, who was still afraid and panic on his face, pressed against Bai Jing more tightly, wishing to embed himself into the other person's body, as if only in this way could he be safe, it was like an instinct that had been engraved into his flesh and blood.

I don’t know how long it took, but Li Shuyi’s breathing sounded slightly calmed down. Reason slowly returned to his mind. After realizing what he was doing, a trace of struggle flashed in his eyes. Bai Jing’s hot body temperature came from where the two of them were close together. Li Shuyi closed his eyes, but finally let go of his hand and pushed Bai Jing away.

How painful.

I can't bear to let go.

I want to be humble and beg Bai Jing to hug him more.

But as long as I think about how disgusted Bai Jing would be when he was holding him, I think about the warm hands that might have just hugged and caressed someone else...

Li Shuyi's heart was so painful that it curled into a ball.

He reached out and turned on the wall light, saw Bai Jing wearing pajamas, wiped off the sweat from his face, and said in a calm voice: "Sorry, it has disturbed you." After that, he got out of bed and slowly walked into the bathroom under Bai Jing's unclear gaze.

Li Shuyi turned on the faucet and washed his face with cold water. He was a little impatient during his movements. The water droplets fell down his cheeks and quickly wet his collar. He pulled the towel to wipe his face, and raised his head to find that Bai Jing was standing by the door. Li Shuyi subconsciously hid his injured hand beside him.

Bai Jing looked at him, walked over without saying a word, took the towel from his hand, wrung it out, and wiped off the water between his neck.

Li Shuyi was stunned.

Bai Jing asked him: "What's wrong with the injury on his hand?"

Li Shuyi had a long time to answer: "I accidentally hit it."

Bai Jing did not expose his obvious lie. He pulled Li Shuyi out of the bathroom, found a new pajama, then walked to Li Shuyi and unbuttoned his buttons.

Li Shuyi retreated and wanted to avoid his movements. Bai Jing grabbed his waist and pulled his pajamas down. Li Shuyi's thin and fair body was exposed.

The hideous scar left by the gunshot wound was visible under the light, but at this moment it was inexplicably ironic. Bai Jing avoided his sight and changed his pajamas for Li Shuyi who was inconvenient to move after his hand injury.

Li Shuyi looked at Bai Jing silently and thought sadly that even if Bai Jing was born with such a little gentleness because of pity for him, he would not be willing to refuse.

The two returned to the bed, Li Shuyi turned her back to Bai Jing, and the distance between them could be inserted into the two.

Bai Jing approached and hugged him into his arms. Li Shuyi's body stiffened. Bai Jing said in his ear: "Go to sleep."

Li Shuyi listened to the steady breathing behind her, relaxed her body and slowly closed her eyes.

He thought Bai Jing knew that no matter how cold he pretended to be or how arrogant he was to keep others away, Bai Jing knew how much he loved and needed him.
