Chapter 772 Do what you are good at

"Mr. Feng, welcome to Captain Cook Project Committee!"

"Mr. Matsk, I'm glad to meet you."

"I have heard of Mr. Feng's name for a long time, and I am very looking forward to working with Mr. Feng."

“That’s exactly what we’re looking forward to.”

"I think our cooperation should be very pleasant!"

"I think it will."

The atmosphere when the guests and the host and the host met was very harmonious. Matsk had a very bright smile on his face, which made people feel that he was a very enthusiastic and sincere European uncle. As for Feng Xiaochen, he seemed very kind most of the time, and he couldn't tell that he had any sharpness, at least in Matsk's eyes.

After greeting each other, Matsk greeted Feng Xiaochen and his party to the conference room, and took a seat with the host and the guest. After saying a few more scenes, Matsk brought the topic to the topic.

"Mr. Feng, Mr. Steyer of Fidelmann, UK, told me that you have some interest in our Captain Cook project. In addition, Ms. Feng Shuyi of Bonn Lutenberg Patent Firm in Germany also asked the staff of our committee to convey this to me, saying that she was commissioned by you to convey the news." Matsk said.

Feng Xiaochen nodded and said, "Yes, I asked Mr. Steel to contact you. As for Ms. Feng Shuyi, she is my aunt, I also entrusted her to express my wish to cooperate to your committee."

"That's great! Several member companies of our committee have cooperated with Chinese companies and have left a deep impression. They have paid great attention to Mr. Feng's intention to cooperate with us."

Matsk said beautiful words. He said in his heart, I didn't lie. Heinzl's group of people did have a deep impression of cooperation with China. They were also very concerned about this cooperation. Well, although they expressed a strong rejection, this can also be regarded as a kind of concern.

Feng Xiaochen has not been idle these days. Through the relationship between Yan Leqin, Feng Hua and others, he has learned a little about the composition of the committee. Feng Xiaochen also knows what member units Mask mentioned include. What attitudes should companies like Pumai have regarding cooperation with China? Does anyone know better than Feng Xiaochen? Pumai's traditional market has been snatched away by Chinese companies. It would be strange if they are not impressed by them.

I knew this was the case in my heart, but since Matsk was so vague, Feng Xiaochen would certainly not provoke the scenery. Everyone pretended to be confused with their own understanding. Feng Xiaochen smiled to Matsk and said, "Thank you very much for Mr. Matsk and your colleagues. We really hope to carry out new cooperation with you. Mr. Matsk, if possible, can you please introduce us to this project and how to participate in this project first."

"Of course, I'm very happy to introduce our project to you," said Matsk.

Everyone spread out their notebooks and prepared for the record. Matsk illuminated the projector in the conference room, started playing the ppt about the project introduction, and explained it to everyone.

The process of deep-sea oil extraction is to collect oil and associated gas through multiple wellheads, gather these oil and gas together, then perform production treatments such as oil and gas separation, dehydration and purifying water, and finally store and transport. According to the different wellhead settings, it can be divided into underwater wellhead and surface wellhead. According to the different production and treatment methods, it can be divided into offshore production and shore production. According to the different storage and transportation methods, it can be divided into tanker storage and transportation and subsea pipeline transportation, etc. In addition, there are different operating platforms. The combination of all these methods forms different solutions.

The solution proposed by Captain Cook's project is to use an underwater wellhead, a semi-submersible operation platform, a combination of production storage tankers, and a shuttle tanker. The advantage of this method is that it has strong adaptability and mature experience. It is the most popular design worldwide. The drilling platform that China plans to design itself happens to be the same.

"Great, Mr. Matsk, your plan coincides with the one we are currently working on. If possible, we are willing to combine our research with you so as to reduce the repetitive work of both of us, improve R&D efficiency, and speed up R&D." Feng Xiaochen said after listening to Matsk's statement.

"I heard that China is also developing the sixth generation marine drilling platform. I want to know how you are currently progressing," Matsk asked.

When Feng Xiaochen was learning about Captain Cook's project, Matsk was also learning about China's situation through his own channels. The China Development and Reform Commission is organizing the development of the sixth-generation marine drilling platform, which is not a confidential matter, so Matsk easily knew the situation, but he just didn't know the details. Since the two sides were going to discuss cooperation, he naturally had to inquire in depth.

Feng Xiaochen said: "In the 1980s, our country designed and built a semi-submersible drilling platform, called Exploration No. 3, with a working water depth of 200 meters. Since then, we have not built similar platforms on our own, but research on related technologies has not been interrupted. We have very rich experience in the construction of floating production and storage tankers, that is, FPSO. More than ten FPSOs we built independently have been used in the development of marine oil. In terms of wellhead devices, we have designed and manufactured a complete set of underwater equipment as early as the 1970s and successfully applied it to shallow sea oil development. In terms of underwater wellhead equipment used for deep sea oil development, we have accumulated some technology, but still lack application experience.

We started the pre-research of the sixth generation platform about 10 years ago, and have made a lot of progress in platform design, wellhead installation, seabed conditions, shallow flow conditions, etc. If both of us can cooperate, we will provide a detailed report to the committee on the progress in these areas to share these research results with other partners.”

"I understand." Matsk nodded. The situation Feng Xiaochen said was similar to what he had. He was originally misled by Heinzel and others, believing that China is completely blank in marine oil development technology. After reading some information, he found that the Chinese had actually accumulated a lot. In time, it was entirely possible to independently develop the sixth-generation platform technology.

After realizing this problem, he was more eager to absorb China into Captain Cook's project. In addition to looking at the funds that China may provide, there is another point, which is to let Chinese people's research work be controlled by themselves so as not to threaten the interests of European companies.

Of course, Matsk would not say this to Feng Xiaochen. What he wants to express is another statement: "Mr. Feng, after listening to your introduction just now, I feel very excited. I once again feel that it is a very wise move to absorb China into a member of Captain Cook's project. You have carried out so much valuable work in the early stage, and these experiences will definitely be of great help to our project."

"Is that true? If this is the case, I feel very honored." Feng Xiaochen replied with a smile, and then asked: "So, Mr. Matsk, what will the committee arrange if we intend to join this project?"

"What are your own considerations?" Matsk asked back.

Feng Xiaochen said: "We came with a learning attitude. Whether it is wellhead devices, offshore platforms, production facilities, and transportation and storage equipment, we are interested in participating in the research. We can establish a research center in China and invite European colleagues to work in China. At the same time, we can also send technicians to work in European research centers. In addition, we can arrange no less than 200 equipment manufacturing companies to undertake specific equipment manufacturing work. Since China has very low labor prices, I think our participation can effectively reduce the cost of the entire project."

"Mr. Feng's wish is very good. We welcome the full participation of Chinese companies in the project." Matsk smiled sincerely, then changed his subject and said: "However, in order to improve the efficiency of the entire R&D project and shorten the R&D cycle, our consideration is to make full use of the advantages of each member organization, and each organization mainly undertakes the aspects they are good at. The committee will hold project coordination meetings from time to time, and the undertaking units of each subsystem introduce each other's progress so that the subsystems can cooperate perfectly."

"Take on what you are good at?" Wang Weilong, who came with Feng Xiaochen, was stunned for a moment and said subconsciously: "If this is the case, why should we participate?"

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone in the Chinese side laughed. Matsk could not understand Chinese, so he did not respond for a moment. After hearing the translated words, an embarrassing expression appeared on his face and he stammered: "This,... this is our routine."

Feng Xiaochen frowned slightly. Matsk's words actually make sense. The purpose of cooperation is to learn from one's strengths and weaknesses. Each of them is responsible for their own aspects of being good at. Together, it is a strong alliance. But the problem is that the purpose of China's participation in this project is not to contribute to world peace, but to gain the technology they lack through participating in this project and ultimately achieve complete independence and autonomy. If you only do what you are good at in the project, then as Wang Weilong said, why should we participate?
