Chapter 1 Strange Places
Jing Yu never thought that he would appear in such a place.
He was standing on a strange street, with houses on both sides of the street being tall and large, squeezing into the middle of the street in the sky, and this could be seen just by looking at the dilapidated appearance of these houses.
The pedestrians on the road were worn out, looking lifeless, walking and hunched. Most of the houses here had shops on the first floor, but only half of them were open, and some of the shops were visited, and some of the stuff was also placed in scattered positions, looking decaying and dilapidated.
Some houses are about to collapse on the street due to disrepair. They use a few large pieces of wood to support the walls at one end and firmly insert the other end on the road so that they do not collapse immediately. Even these houses seem to be showing signs of being still inhabited as nests for living.
Many thick wooden boards nailed to doors and windows have been pried open, leaving enough gaps for a person to come in and out.
The ditches on the ground were blocked and the smell was foul-smelling around. In such broad daylight, mice were running around in the corner of the wall, one by one, one by one, and no one was afraid of the people around them. They didn't care about the people outside.
Whenever people around him see Jing Yu, they will look at him with a very surprised expression, as if they have found some strange animal on the street.
His dress and appearance all look so out of place here.
Jing Yu was not prepared for his sudden appearance here. He had originally traveled from the company to another place on a business trip, but he didn't expect that he would encounter heavy fog the next day after staying in the hotel for a night. He walked along the company address he was going to visit and found something was wrong before he found that he had arrived at this place.
Jing Yu, who had recovered from his senses, carefully observed the streets and also distinguished their language in his ears.
It was soon heard that the people passing by were speaking English, and that he could understand what these people were talking about was talking about himself.
You should know that Jing Yu's family conditions are good. His parents sent him to the UK to study for a middle school very early. Jing Yu himself was quite successful. After high school, he was admitted to Warwick Business School (warwick
However, although Jing Yu heard that they spoke English, it seemed to be somewhat different from the English they were familiar with. Although they could probably understand what they said, they always felt a little awkward in the words and sentences.
Although Jing Yu wanted to ask the people passing by, when others saw that Jing Yu was about to approach, they immediately accelerated their pace, as if they were afraid of him.
However, some brave children, in groups of three or two, surrounded Jingyu from afar. They were not as cautious as adults, and pointed at Jingyu without caring.
These children look like they are dirty and broken like their surroundings.
Although Jing Yu didn't know where he was, he already felt that although it was daytime now, he could not see the foggy place in the sun, which seemed full of danger. After he recovered, he wanted to leave here before talking.
After walking a few steps, he found that five or six children behind him began to follow him. Jing Yu lived in the UK for several years. He knew how dangerous the children wandering on the streets of Britain were in his time, so he couldn't help but speed up.
The children seemed to see Jing Yu's timidity from his movements, and began to surround him with shouts.
Jing Yu felt his heart beating in such a completely unfamiliar environment. He saw another road at the entrance of the alley in the distance, and it seemed that there was more people, so he continued to speed up.
The group of children seemed afraid of letting him run away, and shouted "Sir", "Sir, I'm pitiful, give us some money", while rushing up to surround him.
Jing Yu was soon trapped among them. The children became more and more bold. They raised their dark faces and stretched out their dirty hands, and grabbed Jing Yu's suit.
"No money", "no
"Sir, please," the children said pitiful words, but their hands reached into his arms and pockets.
Jing Yu didn't know that he should teach these children a lesson or let them do whatever they wanted. Now even if he asked for help, it was useless. The two or three people he saw in the distance didn't care about the situation here at all and walked on his own.
"Stop!", "Stop!", Jing Yu shouted, but this was useless.
The children didn't touch anything in his pocket, so they turned to pull the trolley box in his hand, as if they wanted to take the box away. Jing Yu grabbed the hand tightly and pushed away the children around him desperately. These children were obviously not very strong because of their age and thin body. The few people worked together to break Jing Yu's hand, so the thinnest and youngest child opened his mouth and bit Jing Yu's hand.
With a "Ah~", Jing Yu almost let go of his hand in the severe pain. He grabbed his box desperately, not caring whether this was too much for the child. He waved his arms hard and hit the child who bit him. His thin body could not withstand Jing Yu's unrestrained power in desperation and fell heavily to the ground.
The other children didn't care about their partner falling to the ground. Instead, they seemed to have learned to bite people from the biting child and then bite them in his hand.
Jing Yu felt that he had been tortured by these children and could not hold on anymore. When they were about to succeed, he suddenly heard the harsh whistle of "beep~" and "beep~~".
When the children heard the whistle, they immediately let go of their hands, then ran away like flying, leaving a child lying on the ground. He seemed to be injured when he was pushed down by Jing Yu. Although he tried hard to get up, he failed several times.
Jing Yu looked up and looked in the direction of the whistle and saw a man wearing a black dress and a round pointed hat coming from a distance. He was jogging all the way, with a whistle in his mouth.
"Sir, are you okay?" The man came to Jing Yu before stopping, and then asked with concern.
Although it is very different from the English he is used to, Jing Yu still understood his question.
"I'm fine," Jing Yu grabbed his box tightly and replied. The person in front of him looked like he was in the police outfit in the Sherlock Holmes movie, but he was not completely relieved and still answered cautiously.
"That's good, are these dirty little things stealing your stuff?" The man who looked like a policeman explained when he saw Jing Yu's nervous expression.
"I will catch them," and then kicked the child, then poked the kid in the chest with the baton in his hand.
Jing Yu looked at the child lying on the ground. At this time, he twisted his body and wanted to hide, his face full of fear and pity.
"No", Jing Yu felt soft in his heart for some reason, "It's not him", he said.
"Sir, don't sympathize with them. These little things are very bad. Only by throwing them into prison and working hard for more than ten years can they learn well." The police said disdainfully.
"No, no," Jing Yu felt that the child was as pitiful as the stray animal he had seen before, and insisted: "It has nothing to do with him."
"Okay, sir." When the police heard Jing Yu say this, they stopped and turned around and said to Jing Yu.
After finally getting up, the child looked at Jing Yu, then turned around and ran away without looking at the police.
Jing Yu didn't say anything anymore, and looked at the child limping and disappearing into the alley from afar. Although the children suffered the consequences, he felt that he was still feeling a little uncomfortable.
"Is this your first time in London?" asked the policeman again, "I don't seem to be a Britannian when I hear you?"
"Uh~", Jing Yu hesitated for a moment. After thinking quickly in his mind, Jing Yu nodded and said, "Yes, this is my first time in London." It's not wrong to say this. The London that Jing Yu is familiar with is really different from the current London.
"Star blessing", the policeman said, "You must be from the New World, right?", and he continued to ask.
Jing Yu didn't understand his words, "Why did you mention the stars?", so he didn't answer positively, but he ummed twice as if he agreed with his statement.
"Sir, this is the most dangerous place in London. I suggest you leave here as soon as possible. By the way, where is your servant?"
"Servant?" Jing Yu didn't understand the word and repeated it.
"Yes, a gentleman like you must have brought the person you follow?" the policeman continued to ask.
