Chapter 62: The Narration of Miss Stamford
Carol Stamford didn't know why Jing Yu invited her over, but she was still very happy to meet Jing Yu, wanting to discuss topics about novels with him and ask him how to start writing, because Carol Stamford couldn't help but want to start writing by himself after reading these various types of novels.
However, when she came to the room under Andrew's guidance, she saw more than Jing Yu. Of course, it was the lawyer present and seemed to know her.
"Miss Stamford?" he shouted in surprise after he stood up.
"Sorry, sir, have we seen it before?" Carol Stanford looked strange. She didn't know this person at all, but the other party called out his name, as if he was very familiar with him.
"Miss Stamford, let me introduce that Mr. Sharp is your father's lawyer in London, so he can know you." Jing Yu said his identity before the other party could speak.
"Yes, Miss Stamford, I have met you twice when I met Lingzun, but you may not have noticed me." Lawyer Sharp politely introduced himself.
But Miss Carol Stamford didn't seem to have any impression of her father's lawyer in London, but she asked: "Did my father ask you to come and pick me up?"
"Sorry, Miss Stamford, I came here because there were other things to deal with. Your father probably didn't know that you were in Mr. Jing's house, but he would be very happy if he could know your whereabouts, because he had urgent matters to deal with, but he had many people looking for your whereabouts." The lawyer explained.
When Carol Stamford heard that the other party was not here to pick her up, she was a little disappointed and happy, but she was still curious why Jing Yu called her over.
"Did you ask Mr. Sharp to inform my father that I am with you?" she asked.
"Not", Jing Yu shook his head, "I'm just hoping that you can sign your name here, here, here, here," Jing Yu pointed to several documents on the table and said to her.
"This is the transfer agreement for Stanford Manor," explained lawyer Sharp. "No matter who it is, as long as you sign it with the recipient, then Stanford Manor belongs to him."
"It sounds like this is not what my father wants to leave for me?" Carol Stamford immediately heard the implicit meaning, after all, she and his use it completely differently.
"Yes, Miss Stamford, your father entrusted us to give the estate to Mr. Jing for free, but Mr. Jing was unwilling to accept it. He believed that you were the better owner of the estate."
"So can I know what's going on?" She didn't understand what was going on at all and asked immediately.
"Sorry, Miss Stamford, I'm afraid I'm not clear about the inside story. Your father never told me that I just followed his instructions."
"What about you? Mr. Jing, don't tell me you know why this is." Carol Stamford looked at Jing Yu with a puzzled look.
"Yes, I know why."
"So, can I know?"
"Of course, but before that, you need to sign these documents and I can tell you."
“What if I don’t accept it?”
"Then I'm afraid I'm sorry..."
She immediately pulled over the documents, picked up the pen on the table, and signed her name at the position where Jing Yu pointed out.
"So, can you tell me what's going on?"
"Mr. Sharp, now, have these procedures been completed?" Jing Yu did not answer, but asked the lawyer.
"Yes, Mr. Jing, now all the procedures are completed. Stanford Manor now belongs to Miss Stanford. Since my work has been completed, I will give up the first step." He stood up and put several of the documents in his bag, then picked up the other documents and handed them to Carol Stanford, and said to her, "Miss Stanford, the manor belongs to you now."
After he stood up and saluted the two of them, he turned around and left.
After Andrew sent him out of the room, Jing Yu said to Carol Stamford, "Do you really want to know?"
The other party nodded excitedly immediately, with curiosity on his face.
"Well, Miss Stamford, it must be said that this is actually a complete disaster for me," Jing Yu said helplessly to her, "Your father, Mr. Ralph Stamford, seems to think that I have some clue that he is very interested in, so he hopes to exchange it by using this manor, but your father is completely wrong and I don't know what's going on."
"Are you talking about 'Atlantis'?" She immediately stood up from the place where she sat, walked quickly to Jing Yu, and said to him.
"How do you know?" Jing Yu was completely unexpected. Judging from the performance of this Miss Carlo Stamford on weekdays, she should have been well protected by his father since she was a child, and no matter how she looks, she doesn't seem to be someone who can know her father's secret.
"So it looks like 'Atlantis'?" she continued to ask face-blindly, without answering Jing Yu's question, "So, do you really don't know or just lying to my father and say you don't know?"
"I really don't know," Jing Yu said helplessly, "But your father refused to believe it. He thought I must be unwilling to say it."
"So you transferred to me the manor my father was going to send to you?"
"Yes, Miss Stamford, I don't want anything, and since you already know, I hope you can tell your father when he comes back and advise him not to disturb me again."
"This is impossible," Miss Carol Stamford interrupted him, "Mr. Jing, I'm afraid you don't know what kind of person my father is. Since he already thinks you know, then he will definitely not give up unless you can prove that he doesn't know and not willing to say it."
"But, I really don't know, but Miss Stamford, it sounds like you know more about the relationship between this "Atlantis" and your father?" Jing Yu asked curiously, not knowing whether the other party was willing to say it.
"My father became so rich because of this 'Atlantis', Mr. Jing," said Carol Stamford slowly. "Our family was not rich when I was very young. My father was a railway engineer working for the New World Railway Company. Later, he seemed to have found a ruin in 'Atlantis', found some treasures from there, and then our family began to become rich."
"But, as far as I know, your father first got rich because he bought a piece of land that no one cares about and discovered the oil field from it. He did not gain any treasure." Jing Yu did not do his homework at all for Ralph Stamford. He asked Butler Andrew to collect the past experiences and history of making a fortune.
"Yes, Mr. Jing, it seems that you are very clear about my father's affairs, but you don't know that the 'baby' I said was not gold, silver and treasures, but something strange. There was a piece of information in it. My father borrowed money to buy the land based on it..."
