Chapter 157: Forming a Team

Indiana.

Butler University Basketball Training Hall.

The Bulldogs' training camp started very early this year. With the departure of the previous group of players and the addition of several new players, the team has long changed.

The players on the field were a little absent-minded today, looking at the tall yellow man beside head coach Stevens from time to time.

He was wearing a heavy protective boot on his left foot, bowing his head and saying something to Stevens.

"You shouldn't come!" Stevens complained to Li Rong after seeing the training status of the disciples on the field, "I guess these kids are waiting for you to get your autographs when the training is over."

"Brad, you can't say that," Li Rong said with a grievance. "I'm here to help you check. I think these kids are pretty good, especially the little black man and the white man."

"Go over?" Stevens looked down at the protective boots on his feet, "The thing you should do most now is lying on the bed."

"A little injury," Li Rong shrugged, "You know, a creature likes to make a big deal out of things. I have been lying in bed for more than half a month, and my body is almost rusted. It's just a second-degree sprain. Do you need to make a big deal out of things like this?"

"If you're still on the team, I'll definitely have someone tie you up," Stevens said. "Can you catch up with the Timberwolves' training camp?"

"If you can catch up, you can catch up," Li Rong said helplessly, "but the team doctor requires that the confrontational training be not allowed before November."

"That's just a little bit more," said Stevens. "You've played too many games this year."

"You know, the team has undergone a major change this year," said Li Rong. "Most of the team is full of new faces, how can I not get through? But I still have to follow that damn doctor's advice."

"Changsey is an underrated player," Stevens said. "With him here, you don't have to worry too much about the team's chemistry."

"We've talked," Li Rong remembered the phone conversation with Billups. "He is now holding a basketball training camp in his hometown of Denver, and I'll rush over to help him in two days."

"Is your feet OK?"

"I can take off this thing tomorrow. As long as I don't do strenuous exercise, it's okay to guide those young players to shoot."

"What's going on with those people outside the door?" Stevens asked, "Isn't it here to find you?"

"They are here to deliver money."

"Sneaker contract?"

"Um."

"How much do they give you?" Stevens asked curiously.

"100 million." Li Rong stretched out a finger, "USD!"

Stevens twitched when he heard the number: "God!"

"Don't do this, coach," Li Rong's face showed a bit of lust, "It's only 100 million US dollars."

Stevens resisted the urge to strangle him to death after hearing this: "How many years?"

"Four years." Li Rong said, "But this is the condition I offered. I came back this time for this. Remember if I asked you to find a legal expert for me?"

"The person has been found," said Stevens. "His name is Yang Lihe. He is a professor of law in the school, a Chinese, and his fan."

"That's great!" Li Rong smiled, "I don't know if he has time today, I want to see him."

"In addition to class, he has some time."

"Don't he have to accompany his wife and children?"

"He's not married yet."

"How old is he?"

"This year I'm 30 years old."

...

After Stevens announced that the training was over, a group of new players indeed surrounded Li Rong.

Li Rong took out the signature pen that had been prepared long ago to sign them one by one. When it was the white player's turn, Li Rong looked at him carefully.

He has golden hair and some freckles on the bridge of his nose. Although he is thin, his skeleton looks good, and he is obviously a seedling of playing basketball.

"What's your name?" Li Rong asked.

"Gordon," replied the white boy excitedly, "Gordon Hayward, Lee, I'm your fan."

"Fight well!" Li Rong patted his shoulder.

Hayward didn't expect that Li Rong would look at him differently and immediately straightened his back: "Thank you!"

Another black little man is called Shelwin Mark, and these two people should be the core of the team's future.

Stevens quickly sent the other players away, only Dennis stayed.

This year's draft predictions are that Dennis' ranking has declined instead of increasing. He is already a little disheartened about the draft. After school started this year, he entered his junior year and was one year older. It is difficult to enter the NBA.

After a year of extreme disappointment, Dennis himself was a little excited.

Everyone who plays basketball wants to enter the NBA, but few people can finally realize this dream.

Li Rong means to let Dennis join his agent team after graduation. Dennis has a calmness that is not like a black man, and has a very delicate mind. He is a trustworthy candidate.

However, Dennis has been hesitating about this matter.

What he studied was not a major in law or accounting, and he was worried that he would not be able to help Li Rong in the future.

However, Li Rong's words quickly dispelled his doubts. He knew basketball and played serious college games, which was the most important thing.

As for not having a professional diploma in accounting or law, just study it. Anyway, he doesn’t need to take any diploma. As long as he can understand the contract text, it’s fine.

With the recommendation of Stevens, Li Rong met Yang Lihe in a restaurant.

Before meeting, Li Rong thought he was the kind of lawyer with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, just like the male protagonist in suits and ties in most crime movies.

But after meeting, Li Rong found that Yang Lihe was different from what he imagined.

He was wearing a slightly wrinkled red plaid shirt, a pair of jeans on his legs and a pair of basketball shoes on his feet.

Although it cannot be said to be sloppy, this image is definitely a kind of unkempt style.

The use of etiquette is the most important thing.

Like his name, Yang Lihe looks more like a harmless otaku. Although he is not old, his figure is already a little fat.

He always speaks softly, as if he is afraid of scaring others.

Only when talking about his profession can a pair of eyes flash with strange brilliance. At other times, he is more like a fan who likes the NBA very much.

After answering a series of strange questions about football matches asked by Yang Lihe, Li Rong finally concluded that this guy is just an ordinary person in addition to understanding the law.

However, since Stevens recommended him, this guy naturally has his outstanding features.
