Chapter 1996 Being cautious

Although the army was approaching and the destruction was complicated, Soshiyang took an hour to leave the command post, fighting brothers, and even Veronica.
When the Stormbird stopped in front of the largest and oldest church in Sagan, the unrelated people here had long been cleared.
This church is solemn and magnificent, located on the upper floor of the nest. Because it was donated by the nobles, ordinary residents naturally do not have the qualification to worship.
If you go in just for prayer, then Soshiyang is naturally lying.
He just needs a quiet place to think.
From the appearance of the church, the church is full of religious mystery and majesty. The two towering spires are 600 meters long. The facade of the church wall draws on the artistic style of the M36 apostate era. The main entrance is divided into layers of eaves and mountain flowers, and overlapping arcs and triangles. Both sides of the gate are leaning columns and flat pilasters. The upper sides of the facade are carved layer by layer. Not far from the church is the cemetery for the nobles. In the middle is a large green grassland, and opposite is a row of reliefs engraved with statues and names of countless people donated in this place. Here promotes the generosity of believers. They spend a lot of money only to "buy" the emperor's blessing, but disdain for the vast crowds in the distant bottom nest.
There are also many gargoyle statues on the church walls, which keep playing the low hymns in a loop until night falls.
Soshiyang, wearing a long robe, walked towards the gate alone. There were three gates in the middle of the thin shell dome. The gate in the middle was the main passage, which would not open normally, but today all three doors were opened.
The itinerary was actually very sudden. Soshiyan just made a simple notification and got off. The priests could only hurriedly drive away the believers here, or even themselves. Only some of the senior priests stood in the posts that must be maintained, looking at the angel holding the survival of billions of creatures in awe. The church had nine floors in total, and except for the bottom floor, most of which were divided by the hanging sunshine garden, making the light look fragmented.
Soshiyan walked along a corridor with a glass cover and entered the church. After the main entrance there were several doorways that gradually contracted inward, with statues on each floor.
When entering the magnificent main hall, melodious chants echo between the domes of the emperor and the angels. The windows here are mostly plant-like leaves, inlaid with colorful glass patterns, but they do not affect the light transmittance.
The senior priests standing here were stiff, with their hands on the rose rosary. As Soshiyang walked forward, he consciously retreated to both sides.
It seems that no matter where it is, the smell of the National Church is the same, holy oil, candle wax, incense burning, dry wood and...confusion.
This is a kind of spiritual weight, that is the pressure of responsibility, and the atmosphere that the state education strives to create - when a person stands here, it seems that he can really feel that the emperor is watching him.
There are five aisles behind the main hall. At the end of each aisle, there is a patio inside. There is also a statue. The statue in the middle is the largest, seventy meters high. It depicts the God Emperor sitting upright on the Golden Throne. His huge, tortured face crosses the heads of sentient beings, staring at the distance, with a firm look.
Whether the person who carved it had actually seen the Emperor, it was still made into such a form, at least in line with the mortals' views on the Emperor.
But Soshiyan was even more surprised by the statue in the hall outside, where the emperor was portrayed as a warrior, wearing armor and holding a sword. Even though the sword and the statue themselves were as slender as the statue themselves, it looked a bit ridiculous, but it was in line with Astart's view of the emperor.
Unfortunately, there are still too many people there, too big and empty.
After seeing most of the statues, he chose a side hall, or the Emperor's statue there, and more importantly, there was no one, and then sat on the bench.
Soshyan himself didn't remember how long it had been meditating alone in the church. It was originally a daily compulsory course for Astart, but he seemed to have forgotten this matter. In theory, any warrior would immediately be questioned by the pastor. He didn't know if he was abused by the leader of the war.
Suddenly, he heard the sound of rain.
In Sagan this season, it seems that it will rain often. After all, the world retains more natural environment, and this church happens to be shorter than the clouds, perhaps because of deliberate efforts.
The choir's singing was floating melodiously, and the heavy rain was blocked outside.
But for some reason, Soshiyang thought of another place, which was also a church, but it seemed that it was always raining, as if it would never be finished.
That place is called Thunderstone.
Thinking of this, Soshiyang took out the small white porcelain cup. He didn't know why he brought this thing with him. Maybe he was too confused during this period, so many that he wanted someone, someone who could truly fully understand all this to answer.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him, as if high heels were slapping on the stone floor.
No one dared to approach him privately. He knew who he could do without looking back. After all, the church was her "territory" in a sense.
"I'm praying and hearing you come."
Soshiyang turned around.
"Good morning, Villets."
Villets looked very happy, her body was surrounded by the temperature of incense, perhaps due to the small incense burner around her waist.
The nun then walked to Soshiyan's seat, sat down, then took out a jar and opened it.
“Rose Candy?”
"Well, when I ponder, I occasionally need it. Speaking of which, the mama used to scold me for not eating too much sugar, because appetite is also the source of sin."
Looking at the candy handed over by Villets, Soshyan smiled and took it. Its taste was so rich that it tasted the aromatic taste before entering.
Villets suddenly looked up at the Emperor in armor. He was surrounded by rows of burning candles, but the light did not illuminate him, and the shadows covered his face instead.
"Why did you choose to come here, and why aren't you in the main hall?"
"I like this statue."
"like......?"
"I am not here to seek repentance or forgiveness. Although it is always these things for the state religion. I just hope that a person can think quietly and try to get enlightenment."
Villets blinked.
"You've tried to talk to me about these topics, so...what does this holy elephant make you like?"
"His face, He is the Emperor, the Lord of Humanity, but He doesn't seem happy, as if He has won a great battle, but this victory must cost him a heavy price, and eventually He makes the decisions He thinks are right in a way we can never understand now...I looked at that statue, and I saw Him alone, able to understand His mood when He was trying to do the right thing in a world that he disgusted."
Suddenly, Villets stretched out his hands and pressed down on the back of Soshiyan's right hand.
"I understand, you're disgusted with what you've done."
The grand nun said softly:
"You see yourself in Him."
Soshyan's expression froze, and Villets squeezed his hand even harder.
