Chapter 51: Kodo Beast

Compared with the scorching canyons and barren lands, the arrival of the flame demon Ragnaros changed the burning plain almost earth-shaking. Before that, this place was originally part of the Red Ridge Mountain, with dense forests and green fields. But now, on this plain that appeared three hundred years ago, all vegetation has been destroyed. Semi-carbonized trees can be seen everywhere in the wilderness, and these charred branches are good firewood, but other than that, they are useless.

The environment here is better than the scorching canyon, but it is also limited. Due to the proximity to volcanoes and the unrestrained lava flow, the climate in this area is in a state of suffocation and dryness and heat at all times. However, compared with the temperature of the underground furnace, this place is simply a pediatric family.

After saying goodbye to Black Rock Mountain, they calmed down and started their trip again.

Although there are many hostile or barbaric or cunning races and monsters on the Burning Plain besides the Black Iron Dwarfs, everything doesn't seem that difficult for the adventurers today - yes, what else is there to worry about for them who can escape from the Black Rock Abyss.

Adventurers happily followed the road eastward. Through the faint sunshine of the red clouds, they saw some creatures flying among the rolling mountains in the south. Windsor explained to them what was in that mountain area. Although Diago knew exactly what it was, he still listened with relish. After all, from the perspective of an indigenous Azeroth, things always changed in some interesting ways.

There is the hills of the young dragons, where the black dragon clan raises the young dragons. The black dragon Hematus guards the future of these black dragons. Any creature who dares to approach this valley will accept his desperate spit attack. Even standing on the road, adventurers can see the intimidating behemoth that can almost cover the sky-like wings.

A long time ago, the Burning Plain had a trade route connecting Stormwind City and Iron Fortress and Lordaeron further north. Before the trading island Kurtiras opened up the ocean route from Stormwind City to Minaishir Port, this trade route was the only way to connect the three. This trade route was once extremely busy, with caravans of various races, but with the migration of the black iron dwarves south and the invasion of orcs, the trade route was gradually abandoned.

Although this road is still accessible, it is very dangerous. Unless you have obtained permission from the Black Stone Orcs, Black Iron Dwarfs and Fire Ogres who control it, it will be difficult for you to pass through this area safely. In fact, except for those smugglers who sell contraband, few people have spent their energy and money to open up this trade route. Even the goblin merchants who are the best at doing business - Hot Sand Enterprises and Rust Water Baptist, think that this is a risky one and it is not worth spending a lot of effort to explore. It is rumored that there are personnel in the goblin venture capital company here, but it is just a rumor that no one has seen it.

Diago and his group marched east along the road that crossed the burning plains until they stopped to the west of a huge orc camp.

Just along the road in front of them, a dark red orc flag was erected, with an erupting volcanic pattern on it, which was the emblem of the Black Stone clan.

This is a typical orc camp, but there are no fences built around it, nor are there sharp wooden stakes for cavalry protection. Perhaps there is no need in the eyes of the orcs. On the burning plain, the orcs are the most ferocious, and few forces dare to come here to stroke the tiger's beard.

In fact, the establishment of this camp was no longer a day or two. As early as the Alliance was busy rebuilding Stormwind City, a few orcs who survived in Azeroth had settled here. They were the Black Stone Orcs. These orcs disagreed with the Armistice Agreement signed by Thrall with the Alliance. On the contrary, they still followed the barbaric style of the orcs before World War III.

Now, these orcs enslaved by the black dragon are even more aggressive in trying to control the area. Their forwards have even reached Red Ridge Mountain as far as they have reached, and the residents of Lakeside Town are deeply disturbed.

This camp was named Black Tooth Camp by the orcs. It and the base camp of the orcs in the north, Black Stone Fortress, guarded the road across the burning plain, one south and one north.

However, the camp plan was obviously not carefully designed. Bunkers, beast barracks, barracks and warehouses were randomly built on the south side of the road, looking messy and incomplete. In the middle of the camp, a thick black smoke rose into the sky, which was the furnace in the orc forging shed running with all its strength.

Fortunately for travelers, the orcs' watchtower was set to the east of the camp, which may be related to their main enemies being the fire-bellied ogres of the giant hammer stone and the humans of the Morgan Post. For this reason, the travelers' arrival was not noticed.

"How do we get there?" Standing on the hillside to the west, Windersol looked down at the orc camp and said anxiously. He didn't know how he passed here after being captured - he was locked in a prison car and was unconscious.

Masley didn't say anything, he just turned his head and looked at Diago with a burning look. He was used to the magical performance of his teammates. This human being can always come up with various ways to solve those seemingly impossible problems.

Diago gave the night elves a blank look, and turned his head and saw that the Marshal was also looking forward to him. To be honest, the latter was also curious about what other means he could use to turn decay into magic.

"This..." Diago pondered for a moment and thought hard in his mind. In fact, if he just touched it, it would not be difficult for Masley, and it would be the same for Guan Haifa. Even the hunter himself could sneak over quietly at night - his disguise skills were now superb. But now there is a Windsol in the team, and his strong figure is hard to ignore even at night.

At this moment, a low roar came from the orc camp, and it sounded like some kind of huge beast was roaring. Then, a louder noise began. The adventurers could even hear drums, huge collisions and the orc screams.

"It seems that something is going on there." Masley listened with his ears sideways, and then guessed. But without saying that everyone already knew, because just where you can see, a huge beast was rushing wildly in the camp, and from time to time, unlucky orcs were trampled by the beast or picked into the air.

"Oh my God, it's the Kodo beast!" Diago opened his mouth and murmured in amazement. This was the first time he had seen this giant beast with his own eyes since he came to this world. It looked two and a half meters tall, taller than the tallest war horse. The brown beast's body was spindle-shaped, with thick limbs and toes like an elephant. Its front legs and hind legs were different in number. Its front legs had four toes, but only three at the hind legs.

Two basin-sized war drums were tied to both sides of its waist, and the drumsticks were tied to the drum surface, jumping constantly on the drum surface as it ran, and making a pounding sound of drums. It had two huge long horns arranged in front and back like rhinos. In front of this big horn, all the orcs blocking their way were invincible and fled in the wind.

People have always believed that on the Kalimdo continent, there is only one creature with the strength and endurance that can carry the Taurus into the battlefield, that is, the powerful Kodo beast. The Kodo beasts used for riding are faster than their wild kind, and they are also slightly smaller in size, but they are not inferior to them in terms of vitality and courage, which also benefited a lot from the Taurus riding the Kodo beast. It is said that only the Taurus with the highest mind can gain the trust of the Kodo beast and use it as its mount, because these powerful beasts are only willing to serve the Taurus with glory and respect.

However, Diago knew that these were nonsense, because in Azeroth, more and more people from other races had come to buy and ride this kind of mount. However, this statement still explains some facts from the side, that is, the Kodo beast is usually very gentle, but when it becomes violent, few people can calm it apart from the giant race like the Taurus. Perhaps this is also the reason why this Kodo beast was not stopped, because Diago didn't see even a Taurus in the camp below - he didn't know where the Kodo beast from these Black Stone Orcs got it.

The situation became even worse (but Diago and the others didn't think so). Almost all the orcs were helpless about the violent behemoth. They had no choice but to hide far away and pray that the beast would not come to him. The chaos in the camp continued like this until a desolate horn sounded in the camp.

The Kodo beast, who was furious, suddenly quieted down. It looked like a gentle sheep, and the contrast between the wild and unrestrained image before was strong, almost making the bystanders in the distance glar.

But the orcs seemed to be accustomed to this kind of thing, and they were no wonder. An orc rubbed over tremblingly and took the reins at the mouth of the giant beast. The giant beast followed him obediently and walked towards the beast railing in the distance.

If it weren't for the messy place, it would be hard for you to believe that the place was still running and chaotic.

"I think I have a way. Maybe we don't have to walk on our legs for the next journey." Diago wiped the saliva from the corner of his mouth and said with a smile.

"What?" the night elves beside him asked in disbelief.

"That's right, Masley," Diago cleared his throat and said with a serious and cautious expression, but that face looked like a big bad wolf who coaxed the little rabbit to open the door. "I have a task to you, and I believe that no one can complete this difficult task except you."

"No problem, look at me!" The simple elf boy jumped into the pit without hesitation, patted his chest and said firmly.
