Chapter 96: The Same Origin of Medicine and Taoism
In fact, Taoist masters are all masters of traditional Chinese medicine.
I divided the reasons for so many people to criticize traditional Chinese medicine into two types. One is that I don’t understand traditional Chinese medicine at all, or even medicine at all.
It is believed that the so-called Western medicine is medicine that uses medicine produced from chemical factories, and the so-called traditional Chinese medicine is medicine that uses animals and plants in nature as medicine. Then things in nature are definitely not as advanced as those produced in factories. Science, and human life is only once, so we must try to use advanced and scientific drugs, so we exclude traditional Chinese medicine.
There are some newbie among them. The logic of the whole world is unclear. They have obtained some negative knowledge about traditional Chinese medicine, such as aconite, Guanmutong, aconite, cinnabar, and arsenic, so they have opened up their minds and quickly express opposition to reflect their sense of cultural existence and justice. But if you ask them if they know what is gentamicin that has caused deafness in children, what is tetracycline that has caused tetracycline teeth, and prednisone that has caused osteoporosis, they don't know, or they don't know it selectively.
Such people either use the logic of Western medicine to view traditional Chinese medicine, or they just don’t understand a basic principle. Putting aside the dosage and talking about toxicity, they are purely hooligans. Rice is also toxic, and the lethal dose is five kilograms at a time. My understanding of the toxicity of some Chinese medicines will be mentioned when talking about traditional Chinese medicine.
A larger part of people opposes traditional Chinese medicine because traditional Chinese medicine is almost the only one that is free from the existing scientific system, based on so-called metaphysics, and deeply rooted in real life, and cannot be avoided. Therefore, out of their obsession with the sacredness and purity of science, they must oppose traditional Chinese medicine.
In addition to traditional Chinese medicine, other things based on metaphysics, whether it is Chinese Feng Shui, numerology, talismans, physiognomy, Western astrology and hypnosis, can be easily evaded by scientific admirers by inexplicable, coincidence, the influence of interference factors cannot be ruled out, and too many counterexamples can be too many. Although their use of the scientific category suddenly became narrowly defined, without talking about statistics at all. More importantly, when discussing the non-scientific and pseudoscientific nature of metaphysics, these people do not consider that practitioners in any field have uneven quality levels, and there will be low-level people in any field, or even scammers smear the entire industry.
The same is true for science. If we call the vast number of middle school science teachers scientific workers and then examine their understanding and knowledge of science, there will be a lot of fallacies in the scientific community. Moreover, the above metaphysics are indeed not widely spread. Not many people who truly understand or use them, and they cannot have a fundamental impact on the scientific system on the order of magnitude. However, the Chinese medicine is different. The philosophical system of traditional Chinese medicine is perfect, the application is broad, and there are many people who understand it. More importantly, in the field of medicine, the effect is easy to verify, and it has been verified widely and effectively. Therefore, the existence of traditional Chinese medicine is like a large spot on the pearl of science, and of course it is time to get rid of it.
These people actually attack traditional Chinese medicine from a scientific perspective, and attack traditional Chinese medicine is not scientific. Unfortunately, most of the great masters in the traditional Chinese medicine industry have very ordinary philosophical literacy. Not only can they or dare not fundamentally point out that traditional Chinese medicine is not pseudoscience, but is not science at all. They do not bother to think about science, and they cannot be science. Instead, they bit the bullet and hope that traditional Chinese medicine can move closer to the direction of science. Some are studying how to use scientific means to prove the existence of meridians and acupoints, some are conducting scientific physical and chemical analysis and animal experiments on traditional Chinese medicinal materials, and some are exploring the so-called combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
Their combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine is based on Western learning and Chinese medicine as the application. In essence, it is still Western medicine, because the method and logic of thinking about problems are Western medicine. The most regrettable thing is that the vast number of traditional Chinese medicine colleges are now cultivating this type of doctor, a bunch of Western medicine who can prescribe several doses of traditional Chinese medicine. The combination of traditional Chinese medicine that can be discussed is like Zhang Xichun of the Qing Dynasty, using the philosophical system of traditional Chinese medicine, using some simple Western medicine as Chinese medicinal materials. Prescriptions such as gypsum aspirin soup were prescribed. Unfortunately, there are no such people, and no one will walk on this path.
The decline of traditional Chinese medicine is actually inevitable, unless the scientific development is very fast, and it will catch up and include it before the decline of traditional Chinese medicine. There is almost no possibility. Because the essence of traditional Chinese medicine is not Chinese medicinal materials, nor acupuncture and steep, but Chinese medicine's philosophical dialectical system between yin and yang, exterior and interior deficiency, cold and heat, and the internal organs, wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Putting aside these, using traditional Chinese medicine not only ignores the root and goes to the end, but also cannot have good efficacy. The efficacy is the life of medicine, and the efficacy is not good. Gradually, traditional Chinese medicine has no place to use it. Nowadays, many Chinese medicine practitioners who have received so-called higher education dare not use aconite, ephedra, raw Pinellia, and cinnabar. When they hear strong medicines such as gypsum, three liang of rhubarb, and three liang of rhubarb, they are scared to death. It is useless to use beef, musk, and rhinoceros horns. If they want to use it, they can bind their own hands and feet and have good efficacy, it is strange.
It is estimated that in a few decades, only Taoist priests can become real Chinese medicine.
Talk about the traditional Chinese medicine I understand.
When talking about traditional Chinese medicine, we have to mention Zhang Xichun. It is indeed rare in modern China, but I think it will become more and more common, because the concept of traditional Chinese medicine is that all things can be used as medicine.
Including the sunlight and air of the sun, and naturally all Western medicines. However, in this regard, there are indeed too few people who study it, especially those with conditions. So, I think there will be one in the future. And it is not far away. There are many factors that affect the development of traditional Chinese medicine at present. Not to mention the external factors of anti-Traditional Chinese medicine, let’s talk about the transplanted and internally produced traditional Chinese medicine. It will be commercialized quickly, and everything will be seen from money. The direct result will lead to the sharp decline in the quality of the medicinal materials, and even food and medicine poisoning. For example, Hewu, if prepared according to the method, there will be no toxicity.
However, in 17 professional medicinal materials markets across the country, hundreds of thousands of pharmacies nationwide, Hewu, produced by chemical industry, is everywhere. Can eating be avoided from being poisoned?
Today I will talk about traditional Chinese medicine. The plan is divided into two parts, one is about traditional Chinese medicine, and the other is about learning traditional Chinese medicine. Because of the numerical techniques, the one I recommend learning is traditional Chinese medicine because it is useful. The reason I have to say it separately is that it is not as simple as physiognomy, just read books and people.
And what is the traditional Chinese medicine in my mind like?
In my understanding, traditional Chinese medicine is a technique that uses various methods and means to adjust the human body to a state that is in harmony with the universe. The first important philosophical concept here is the unity of man and nature.
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that what kind of diseases people will have and what kind of diseases people will have in general will have a lot to do with time and place. The so-called time is the theory of the five elements and six qi in traditional Chinese medicine. The five elements are wood, fire, earth, metal and water, and the six qi are wind, fire, heat, dampness, dryness and cold. For example, this year is the year of Jiawu, and the earth is too much. Shaoyin Junhuo controls the sky, and Jueyin Fengmu is in the spring. Therefore, this year is very likely to be the epidemic disease of spleen dampness, and Lizhong Pills will sell very well. I stocked up some Atractylodes first to prevent you from buying it. It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand this sentence, and I don’t explain it. It’s just a book. If you are interested, just take a simple Baidu.
