Chapter 38: The Waltons

At the end of February.

The cool breeze blew across a small town in Bentonwell, Arkansas. The town in the evening had a different view, and the fresh air made people feel comfortable.

“Dududu…”

On the street, a truck drove towards an ordinary house. In the car, Herac chatted to a white middle-aged man wearing cheap clothes, a baseball cap and glasses. Talking about interesting places even made the middle-aged man interested.

Looking at Sam Walton who was chatting and laughing with him in front of him, Herac admired the other party's wise ideas and style of doing things.

Although Sam Walton dressed like a business person, the Walmart he created was not as huge as the original time and space, under the other party's business model and hard work, Bentonwell has Walmart supermarket chains everywhere.

It has been three days since he arrived here. Herac started talking to Sam Walton for a while. Instead of talking about the serious matter, he went to and from get off work with the other party and experienced Sam Walton's hard work.

Sam Walton, a farmer, knew that only by working hard would you get rewards. He woke up early at 4 o'clock every day and drove a truck to various Walmart supermarkets to take inventory, and even delivered goods to his home in person.

After running with Sam Walton in the past three days, Herac saw that the other party was in simplicity, revealing wisdom everywhere, without disappointing him at all.

Running continuously at the Walmart supermarket in Bentonwell allowed him to see Walmart's unique personality development. Their business model is also called discount stores. It mainly sells its own brands and fast-turnover products, limited sales varieties, and provides consumers with "value for money" products with limited operating area, simple store decoration, limited services and low operating costs.

But on this basis, Sam Walton added the so-called "women's pants theory, which is precisely this sales method that has many people cared about Walmart every day.

After three days, Herac gradually became familiar with Sam Walton and found that this was a middle-aged man with a good temper and seriousness in some places.

"arrive."

Follow a long road to an ordinary three-story house, with a parking garage built from wood next to it. There is no house in the spacious surrounding area, which makes the place a little empty, but the grass and green trees make the scenery here pleasant.

“Wang…”

The sound of the truck stopping made the hounds locked in the cage sway excitedly, and at the same time attracted the attention of several people in the house and came out one after another.

"Here I'm back."

Sam Walton's wife was wearing a housewife's suit and smiling, and welcomed the two of them, saying to Herak, who was getting out of the truck: "How is she feeling today."

"Very good, Mrs. Walton."

Herak and Walton's wife embraced her politely and expressed her feelings. Although she had experienced another kind of hardship with Sam Walton these days, she also learned a lot more.

"You guys talk first, I'll park the car."

Sam Walton said to the few people and drove into the parking garage next to him.

"Let's go, Alice and the others are back today, which Sam specifically asked yesterday."

Walton's wife blinked at Herac and walked into the house with a smile on her face.

Herak was stunned for a moment, then smiled helplessly, thinking that Mrs. Walton's weird smile should be Robson Walton told her that he and Alice had interacted at NASCAR in California, and that she regarded him as a young man chasing Alice Walton.

In three days, Herac did not see Alice Walton and the others. When chatting with Mrs. Walton, he learned that several people were staying at school, so he didn't see them when he first came.

Entering the house, Mrs. Walton had already prepared supper and looked into the living room. She saw Sam Walton's three sons and Alice Walton were driving the TV to watch the Vietnam War news broadcast on the ABC TV network.

"Brother Herak, are you talking to me about the dinosaur park."

Herac was about to say hello to Alice Walton and Robson Walton when the youngest Jim Walton ran over excitedly and grabbed his hand and asked.

"Jim, don't be naughty."

Robson Walton scolded him and stepped forward to Herac and said apologetically: "Young children are ignorant, don't mind."

"No, I'm going to listen to the story of the dinosaur park told by Brother Herac."

Jim Walton was dissatisfied and stuck out his tongue at Robson Walton.

"fine."

Herak raised his hand to stop Robson Walton from pulling Jim Walton away, looked down at Jim Walton, who was only nine years old, and said in the other party's eyes: "I'm telling you the story of the dinosaur park tonight."

"real."

Jim Walton looked disbelief. He remembered that Herac was taken away by his father at the beginning when he told him. Until now, he was obsessed with the dinosaur story Herac told, but he couldn't hear it because he had to go to school to do his homework these two days.

"real."

Herac looked at Jim Walton with some confusion and nodded to make sure. He didn't expect that in order to please Jim Walton two days ago, he told him the unseen "Jurassic Park" in the form of a story. He didn't expect that Jim Walton would worry so much.

After receiving Herak's promise, Jim Walton reluctantly let go of his hand and sat on the sofa to watch TV.

"By the way, I heard you are about to graduate from college. This is my meeting gift. I hope you like it."

Herak looked at Robson Walton wearing glasses and took out a pen from his body and gave it to him.

"This is a Parker's pen..."

Looking at the chic, pure black and gold pen on his hand, Robson Walton widened his eyes, apparently recognizing the greeting gift Herac gave him, and exclaimed: "This is the Parker special edition pen made by Parker in 1962 using some materials from the first American rockets carrying space astronauts."

"Parke Special Edition Pen."

Hearing Robson Walton's exclamation, John Walton, who was concentrating on watching the Vietnam War news, was attracted to him and looked at Herac thinking.

"Hi! Herak."

Alice Walton stepped forward and hugged Herac with the card. He did not let go immediately, but whispered in Herac's ear: "I didn't expect you to be here."

Herac couldn't help but smile and said with a low ear: "I remember you said that if I come, you will be my female companion."

"This is too expensive, Mr. Herac."

Just when Alice Walton was about to say something, Robson Walton's voice forced the two to let go, which made John Walton, who had been paying attention to the two, look at them with a gossip. Seeing this, Alice Walton's face turned red.

"I think I'd better give you this Parker special edition pen!"

Robson Walton's tone no longer became casual, and although his eyes were a little reluctant, he thought that this Parker special edition pen was made of some materials from the first batch of Rockets, and only those who are important people and customers in the world would use it. He felt that the pen in his hand was very heavy.

"You'd better accept it!"

Herak was also a little surprised that Robson Walton knew this Pike special edition pen. He didn't reach out to get it back, but opened his mouth, but Sam Walton, who had just come in and heard a few people talking, took the lead.

Herak was not talking, but his eyes were very clear and he would not take it back.

"Thanks!"

Seeing that Herac did not take it back, Robson Walton asked him to accept it, so he had to put the Parker special edition pen carefully.

"Several, it's time to have supper."

When Walton's wife saw that all the people were here, she came out to remind Herak and others.
