Chapter fifty-ninth, sweeping monks, three or five gossip
Jiumozhi naturally refused to admit what the monk said. The old monk no longer paid attention to him, but turned around and said to the Taoist who was not aware of him: "Amitabha, fellow Taoist is a Taoist master. He should welcome him when he comes to the Mon Temple. But why did fellow Taoist abandon the monk's cultivation in front of the Mon Temple, and let them destroy their half-life practice. It is a bit cruel."
The Taoist, who knew not, said: "The reason for this is that I am cruel, but I cannot say it too much. Then again, the temple is also a cause. I just came to ask a few questions. The monks of the temple first set up a formation of Arhats to attack me. How can I blame me now?"
The monk sweeping the floor said: "Amitabha, the fellow Taoist is very disrespectful to Shaolin in his words. In order to maintain the dignity of the temple, the monks took action with anger. In the end, the fellow Taoist violated the verbal precepts, and then there was something that happened later."
The Taoist said, "I thought that the old monk should be a person who sees through the world and understands the truth at his age. I don't think he is also a fool. Shaolin Temple's martial arts is profound and profound, but he is undeniable. But he said that the world's martial arts are from Shaolin, where does it place my Taoism? If Shaolin Temple's martial arts are all systems passed down from India, or the monks of Shaolin Temple have their own lineage, even if I am angry, I have no reason to ask Shaolin. The old monk agrees or not."
"Amitabha." The monk sweeping the floor proclaimed the Buddha's name again: "The temple has been established in Shaolin Temple for nearly a thousand years. Almost all monks are Middle-earth people. They have slowly absorbed the essence of Central Plains culture and integrated into Shaolin martial arts. Now Shaolin martial arts is gradually focusing on Central Plains martial arts, which is normal. Why should fellow Taoists use this as an excuse to find the troubles of blocking the temple?"
Zhifei Taoist said: "The old monk avoids the importance of the important things. The Central Plains martial arts and internal practice methods can be said to be derived from the qi training methods of Taoist Qi Refiners. The temple has taken it as its own and then spread it all over the world. The martial arts of the Tao originated from Shaolin. Could it be that the Buddha taught it well?"
At this time, several Shaolin sect monks of the Xuan generation and a group of Shaolin monks also arrived here. Seeing Xiao Yuanshan, Murong Bo, Jiumozhi and Zhifei Taoist were all in the cabinet, they were all surprised to hear the strange-looking old monk talking. These monks Zeng were very skilled people, and they didn't come forward to disturb him at the moment. They stood aside and listened to what he said.
The monk sweeping the floor said: "It's not appropriate to say this to the Taoist sect. It's just that the Taoist sect is not the purpose of this. Otherwise, no Taoist sect has ever had a great master in the Taoist sect, but there wouldn't be a fellow Taoist coming to visit today."
The Taoist said, "The old monk can see clearly. The so-called dispute over the origin of martial arts is just a by-pass. Although I don't like Shaolin Temple, I cannot deny that Shaolin Temple is a martial arts holy land. I have no way to make progress in my cultivation recently, but I can premonition that once I break through, I can lift the clouds and fly up and see the way ahead. It's just that the road ahead is hard to find, and I want to find an opponent and find enlightenment between life and death. Sure enough, it's not a shame to meet an old monk. I'm afraid I've been wandering in this last step for many years, right? Secondly, as a Taoist sect, I should make some mistakes about the Taoist sect. Shaolin is known as the ancestral temple of Buddhism and Zen. If I impress Shaolin, it will be considered as a Taoist cultivation."
"Amitabha." The monk sweeping the floor said: "The Taoist's wisdom eyes are like a torch, but it is just a must. The martial arts of this sect are used to eliminate demons and protect the Tao, not to fight for strength and ruthlessness. Therefore, when the monks of this temple practice martial arts, they must use compassionate Buddhism to reconcile the anger. The Taoist's request for a battle between life and death, so they should not come to Shaolin. If they practice Zen and discuss Taoism, they will be very welcome."
After hearing a few words, the monks realized that what the old monk said was very profound and that the predecessors had never told him, and they all felt awesome in their hearts. A few people praised him: "Amitabha, good, good!"
The Taoist Zhifei said, "The old monk is very kind. But I have deposed the martial arts of 500 monks before, and the old monk can even expose it?"
When Xiao Feng heard this, the master was surprised: "Brother, how can you abandon the martial arts of all the masters?" He grew up near Shaolin Temple and has always had a good impression of Shaolin Temple. Then he told the monk sweeping the floor: "Master, my brother failed for a moment, please don't blame me."
The monk sweeping the floor: "It's better not to practice the skills of fighting for strength and ruthlessness. But this fellow Taoist, you are very hostile and will inevitably affect your state of mind. In order to avoid doing something you can't bear to say one day, it's better to stay in Shaolin and study Buddhism, or to resolve the anger as soon as possible. When the time comes, the Taoist mastery will make great progress, and it may not be impossible to ascend to the sky."
Only then did everyone notice that the Taoist Zhifei said before was one step away from being able to ascend to the sky. He heard the old monk repeat it again and thought: "Is it possible that the legendary martial arts practice can break the gap between immortals and mortals? Is it true that ascension in the sun really?" However, more people sneered, saying that this Taoist was stupid in martial arts practice and was hysterical.
The Taoist, who knew nothing, smiled and said, "I have a wonderful Taoist method, why do you want the scriptures? The most important thing is that in the past, Lao Tzu rode a green ox, went out of Hangu, and turned Hu into Buddha. Buddha was originally the Tao."
When the monks in Shaolin Temple heard that "Buddha is the Tao" said, "Buddha is the Tao", they all glared at him. However, the old monk clasped his hands together: "Amitabha, what fellow Taoists said is just a fool's murmur. How can you really think of it? It's just that Buddha is the Tao, and Tao is also the Buddha."
The Taoist Zhifei shook his head: "The old monk is not bad at eloquence. The dispute between Buddhism and Taoism has been around for a long time. Right and wrong are not something we can know. No one of us can convince anyone. The battle between Taoism is not verbal, and in the end it is inevitable to see the real skill. Well, let's talk about our affairs later, so I can't always take over the master. The old monk first deals with the things in front of me and then discusses the Tao with me. How about it?"
The monk sweeping the floor nodded: "It's great if a fellow Taoist is intent." Then he turned around and said to Xiao Yuanshan and the others: "The twelve unique skills in this temple can hurt people's vitals, take human life, be fierce and cruel, and do great things to Tianhe. Therefore, every unique skill must be resolved by corresponding compassionate Buddhist teachings. This principle is not well known to everyone. It is just that after one person practices four or five unique skills, he has a Zen theory.
Understanding will naturally be hindered. In my Shaolin Sect, it is called a 'martial arts obstacle', which is the same as the 'knowledge and insight obstacle' of other sects. It should be noted that Buddhism is seeking to pass the world, and martial arts lies in killing. The two go against each other and control each other. Only when the higher the Buddhism and the more compassionate the thoughts, can the more skilled martial arts be practiced, but monks who have reached such a level of cultivation do not want to learn various powerful killing methods."
The Taoist Zhifa curled his lips, looked very disdainful, but he didn't interrupt, listening quietly to the old monk bragging. However, the more Jiumozhi listened, his face became ugly. He could understand everything about himself in this state. Maybe he didn't think much about this before, but now when the old monk reminded him, he realized that there was indeed something wrong with his martial arts practice. However, at this point, due to his face, he was not easy to ask for advice. Instead, he denied it, saying, "The old monk said that the Shaolin School cannot learn the 72 unique skills. I have learned them all? Why are there no broken tendons and veins and become a useless person? Why should the old monk exaggerate and intimidate?"
The monk sweeping the floor: "What the old monk said is, is it or not, the Mingwang's heart is like a mirror. What the Mingwang practiced was originally the "Little Wuxianggong" of the "Xiaoyao Sect"?"
Jiumozhi said: "Although the 'Little Wuxianggong' originated from Taoism, I learned that it has been studied day and night, and in addition to the evolution, I have gathered the strengths of the two schools of Buddhism and Taoism."
The Taoist Zhifa sneered twice, and the deep meaning was self-evident. Even the Shaolin monks could not help but lower their heads and felt ashamed. Some of the unsolicited minds were already thinking: "Will the martial arts of our Shaolin Temple come from this too? If so, no wonder this Taoist priest came to us."
The monk sweeping the floor was still as calm as water and said, "The Ming King and the Buddha and Taoism are mixed with, and they are not good at learning, and the disaster is not far away."
