Chapter 11 Do you hear the people(4)

Two mysterious men entered Duke Otto's mansion through the back door. They all lowered their heads and covered their faces with their wide hats. The man in front was normal, and the man behind seemed to have little strength in his steps, as if he was about to fall down at any time.

Duke Otto glanced at them: "Are you 'men of the mountain'?"

The man walking in front nodded and turned his hat open. The face inside surprised Duke Otto: "Nobel? Why are you here in person if you are not on the mountain?"

That man was the bandit leader, Noblet, who had kidnapped Ella and Gregory.

Norbert did not answer Duke Otto's question immediately, but looked around the room carefully. Seeing this, Duke Otto said, "Don't worry, there are no other people here. But since you are so careful, you shouldn't come in person. There are your wanted orders everywhere nearby!"

"Duke Otto," Noblet said, "Can you turn off the light and speak?"

"Okay, it's better to be careful."

Duke Otto walked around the room and blew out all the candlesticks on the wall. He picked up the oil lamp on the table, found a place to sit down, and then covered the lampshade, and the whole room suddenly became pitch black.

Noble stepped forward, and when Duke Otto heard the footsteps, he immediately stopped and said, "Noble, don't get closer, just stand there and reply to my words!"

Noblet knew that Duke Otto was guarding against assassination and laughed: "Duke Otto, you are too timid."

"There is no need to be guarded against others." Duke Otto asked coldly, "Nobel, the matter I had entrusted you to you for so long hasn't been done. Now, what do you want to go down the mountain to find me?"

Noblet didn't reply after a long time. Just as Duke Otto was suspicious, the person behind Noblet spoke, "Duke Otto, in order to better complete everything you entrust, we need some rewards."

"Reward? Isn't the gold coins I pay you enough?"

"Compared with Duke Otto's great reputation, this money is certainly not much."

Duke Otto frowned. It was obvious that the bandits were blackmailing him.

"How much do you want?"

"Duke Otto, we don't want money. This time we came to ask for some other rewards."

Duke Otto's brows became deeper and deeper: "Other rewards? What do you want?"

"Not something valuable. We just want to get some land. Of course, we will swear to the sword--we are loyal to you, the legal ruler of the Duke of Anglia; as long as we have a breath, we are your loyal subordinates; when you need it, we will fight to the end with your enemies."

"Do you want me to give you fiefdom and make you aristocrat?" Duke Otto cursed in anger, "Nobel! Find out your own identity!"

"Duke Otto, in order to better protect your reputation, we hope you can take a closer look."

"You think you can threaten me? Noblet, you'd better figure it out for me, you're just a bandit, and I'm a nobleman who inherits the blood of Caroling! Do you want to shake out the things I've made you do? Do you think people will believe you or me? Do you think you will die, or I will die?"

"That's a very regretful thing," said the man behind Noblet. "The consul of Almani sent someone up the mountain not long ago to make us aristocrats. We came to you first out of your loyalty to Duke Otto. Since you refused, we can only accept the kindness of the consul of Almani."

"Wait a minute... the Earl of France sent someone to find you? And let you be nobles?"

"After all, he was very interested in the matter of Duke Otto."

Duke Otto was slightly surprised and began to mutter to himself: "That guy realized something was wrong, are he ready to take action..."

But soon, he laughed loudly.

"So what? He is interested in my affairs, so just tell him!"

Nobit was surprised: "Duke Otto, are you really not afraid that we will shake out your things?"

"What am I afraid of? What can I be shaken out? Do you want to accuse me? But what evidence do you have? What does it have to do with me when you attacked several villages? The Count of Ile-de-Island France has no choice but to put his hope on the confessions of several bandits!"

"Duke Otto, you misunderstood. We don't want to accuse you of attacking the village." The man behind Norbert replied coldly, "We want to accuse you of murdering the daughter of Count Munster."

"The daughter of Count Munster?" Duke Otto was stunned for a moment, "Who is that?"

"Not long ago, we robbed the daughter of Count Munster on the road and killed her and several entourages around her."

Duke Otto stood up with a slap in his chair: "You are so bold!"

"Isn't it that you ordered by Duke Otto?"

"Nonsense! When did I instruct you to do this?"

"The truth of the matter does not matter. What matters is whether others are willing to write it - Duke Otto, you often say this." The man behind Norbert laughed, "Then do you think the Earl of France is willing to believe that you were instructing us to murder?"

Duke Otto shivered all over: "Don't swear at others! You said I was instructing you, what evidence do you have? What evidence do you have!"

"Of course there is evidence. Because the body of the delicate noble lady has now been buried in your residence by us."

"I'm crazy! My official residence is full of guards. How can you outsiders get in? How can you hide the body in my yard!"

"How can I do this? Duke Otto, don't you know the best?"

Duke Otto's heart skipped a beat. He hid his inner fear with a bigger roar: "What do you mean? What can I know? I don't know anything!"

"Since outsiders cannot enter, just let the guards do this. As long as there is a high-level guardian of Aphrodite, it is not difficult to find a guardian of Aphrodite. By the way, it is difficult to find a guardian of Aphrodite above the natural level. But isn't Kronos's guardian of the effect of changing the type of guardians of others? It's easy to find a suitable candidate. Also, as long as you can fool the guard into drinking more wine in advance, and when he wakes up, you will most likely forget what he did..."

The last passage comes from Ella's unfounded imagination. As long as you think about it, you will find that there are many loopholes.
