Chapter 447 Xuanji Sutra
Facing the two choices given by Chu Yunshen, Hong Yi was a little hard to make a choice.
On one side is a ready-made road, with the famous secret book of supreme Taoism for him to choose; on the other side is a completely unfamiliar road, with no direction ahead, and even no way of knowing what the final achievement will be.
According to Hong Yi's thinking, he would rather be a chicken head than a phoenix tail to show his determination.
In fact, at the very beginning, Hong Yi really wanted to choose that unknown path. But later, for some reason, he changed his mind.
"I choose "Past Amitabha Sutra"!"
Hearing Hong Yi's answer, Chu Yunshen seemed not surprised. But there was no expression on his face. He just asked for the last time: "Are you sure?"
"I'm sure!" Hong Yi replied firmly.
Chu Yunshen nodded and didn't say anything. He just turned around and picked up the paper he had just finished writing and handed it to Hong Yi.
Hong Yi took the paper and was attracted by the content on it: the four-foot-square paper was densely filled with words, and in the center of the group of words, sat a solemn Buddha statue.
"Great paintings and calligraphy!"
When he saw the calligraphy and painting on the paper, Hong Yi, as a scholar, couldn't help but praise it.
At first glance, the Buddha statue on the paper caught Hong Yi's attention: the nine-inch Buddha statue was surrounded by the sun, moon and stars, and all kinds of light gathered on the Buddha's body, making the Buddha statue even more sacred and majestic.
.
Even so, this Buddha statue looks very detailed, with the eyebrows, eyes, beard and hair clearly visible, and even its face and expression can be clearly distinguished.
The words around the portrait are also extremely extraordinary. Each word is filled with Zen flavors such as compassion, holiness, solemnity, and purity. Looking at these words, it is like seeing the Buddha speaking one after another, earnestly urging all sentient beings to escape.
sea of bitterness.
Unfortunately, before Hong Yi could take it in his hand and look at it carefully, his attention was attracted by the movement around him. As soon as Hong Yi lowered his head, he saw Xiao Shu from the third primary school tugging at the hem of his clothes, as if to indicate that he wanted to
Leave together.
Looking up, Hong Yi saw Chu Yunshen turning around again, holding a brush and writing something on the paper.
Seeing this scene, Hong Yi knew that it was time for him to leave.
After bowing to Chu Yunshen, Hong Yi followed the three children and left the wooden house.
Returning to the book cave, Hong Yi had no intention of continuing to organize the book collection. After sending the three children away, he couldn't wait to take out the "Past Amitabha Sutra" given by Chu Yunshen and read it.
The first thing Hong Yi saw was the Buddha statue in the center of the paper.
At the first glance of seeing the Buddha statue, Hong Yi felt that the Buddha statue was filled with a kind of compassionate and peaceful aura. Looking at it more carefully, this compassionate and auspicious aura also gave people a feeling of majesty, majesty and sacredness.
feeling.
But this is not the deepest level. If you stare at the Buddha statue for a long time, you will feel in a trance that this Buddha statue is your previous life thousands of lives ago and the origin and beginning of all your past lives.
After being dazed for a long time, Hong Yi suddenly came back to his senses.
I couldn't help but secretly marvel in my heart: "What a magical painting. When I look at this Buddha statue, I feel that this Buddha statue is my previous life thousands of lives ago! This is the real Buddha statue! This demeanor is the most attractive and resonates with people.
, radiating people’s Buddha nature and Taoist heart. This painting is extraordinary and otherworldly, and cannot be painted by ordinary people!"
After marveling at the painting, Hong Yi turned his attention to the text around the Buddha statue.
At the beginning of the first column from the right side of the paper, there are four words: "This is what I heard", followed by a eloquent scripture. The scripture is only a short ten thousand words, but every word is exquisite and wonderful.
Hong Yi first read through the first passage of the scripture, and then began to carefully figure out the meaning of the scripture.
"This scripture..." Hong Yi felt that the person who wrote this scripture was really powerful. "This scripture is from simple to complex, from clear to obscure. At first glance, the whole scripture is four words per sentence.
, catchy and seems to be very simple, but if you read it for the second time, you will find that this scripture contains various different meanings. After reading it for the third time, you will find new insights..."
In Hong Yi's opinion, this scripture has surpassed the classics of the scholars.
Because the classics left by the philosophers are difficult to understand and require a lifetime of study, this passage is very simple and easy to understand. Anyone who can read can understand the meaning of this passage.
.
However, although this Amitabha Sutra is simple and easy to understand, it does not mean that the meaning of this sutra is short-sighted.
Just like Hong Yi's sigh, every time you read it, you will discover a new meaning from this scripture.
The one with crooked teeth is ancient and difficult to understand, and requires a lifetime of study; the other is simple and easy to understand, even anyone who can read can understand it, and the scriptures progress layer by layer, as if there is no end.
It also takes a lifetime to study.
Ordinary people cannot understand the classics of the various disciples, but this Buddhist sutra can be understood by anyone. In this aspect alone, this Amitabha Sutra completely defeats the classics of the various disciples.
"If the classics of various schools of thought could be as good as this Amitabha Sutra, not so clumsy and difficult to understand, I'm afraid it wouldn't be so difficult for cultural education to flourish." Hong Yi looked at the scriptures in his hands and couldn't help but sigh.
Unfortunately, he also knew this was impossible.
There are too many truths contained in the classics of the philosophers.
It cannot be summed up in a short sutra, but the central idea of this sutra is to teach people how to become Buddhas. In this way, it naturally surpasses the classics of other schools of thought in some aspects.
"That's all, why are you thinking so much?" Hong Yi shook his head, "It's better to think carefully about the mystery of the Amitabha Sutra in the past, and seize the time to cultivate Taoism!"
Putting aside the messy thoughts in his mind, Hong Yi continued to study the supreme classic in his hand.
As the saying goes, after reading a book a hundred times, its meaning will appear by itself. In order to better understand the scriptures, Hong Yi began to recite them.
The first time I read it, I didn't have any big feelings. After reading it for the third time, Hong Yi suddenly felt that this passage was a bit strange, but he still couldn't tell what was strange about it.
"Huh?"
However, when he read it for the fifth time, Hong Yi suddenly stopped and let out a light sigh.
After carefully staring at the words on the paper for a while, Hong Yi suddenly thought of something and moved his eyes to the beginning of the scripture again.
This time, Hong Yi no longer followed the conventional vertical reading method, but started reading from the first line from the right to the left.
This reading does not matter, Hong Yi was surprised to find that this horizontal reading method from right to left can actually be read!
However, the scriptures read this time turned out to be completely different from the scriptures obtained through the previous orthodox reading.
In other words, reading vertically from the top right column below the first column "Thus I hear" is the most orthodox reading method, and you can get a scripture.
Starting from the first word under "This is what I hear", and reading horizontally from right to left, another scripture can be separated.
After discovering this, Hong Yi seemed to have thought of something, and turned his eyes to the end of the scripture in the lower left corner. This time, he began to read backwards according to the orthodox book reading method.
Hong Yi was shocked: "This... this is actually a scripture!"
Next, he started trying crazy things.
Read forward (orthodox reading), read backward (read opposite to forward), read diagonally (read diagonally from the first character to the lower right corner), read back (start from the outer circle, go around and around)
Reading inward), swirling reading (a variation of back-word reading, minus one character from each corner, and a circle going inward), snake-shaped straight reading (reading the first column to the end in the straight reading, and reading from bottom to top starting from the second column)
), snake-like backward reading (opposite to snake-like straight reading)...
After trying dozens of readings, Hong Yi isolated dozens of scriptures, and each scripture was different.
Hong Yi stared blankly at the paper in his hand, muttering in his mouth: "Eternal and unique text! Eternal and unique text!"
At this moment, Hong Yi discovered that the Amitabha Sutra was not as good as the classics of other scholars. This was all his own conjecture!
The scripture I have in my hand can be said to be a masterpiece throughout the ages. It is truly unprecedented and unprecedented. Even the classics of various scholars cannot compare with this short 10,000-character scripture!
Have you ever seen an article, and whether you read it straight, backwards, horizontally, diagonally, or backwards, you can separate out a passage that can be read through?
Anyway, Hong Yi has seen it!
And he also knew that this was not the limit of this scripture. If he could come up with more readings, he might be able to isolate more scriptures.
…
