It is worthy of being a shelter that can accommodate more than 180 people at the same time. Even the yard is several times larger than other shelters. Each floor is equipped with a bathroom, so that everyone will not have to squeeze and wait for washing up when they wake up in the morning.

Because Li Shenxing checked in early, his bed was arranged in front of the first row of the second floor, and today he was still arranged in the upper bunk bed. I think this will happen in the future.

I went to the restaurant recommended by the shelter for lunch. I spent 10 euros to eat a pilgrimage meal, which had beef stewed and vegetable salad. It tasted pretty good. After eating, it was still early, and Li Shenxing didn't want to go back to the shelter immediately, so he planned to take a walk in the town.

I don’t know if it’s because it’s almost lunch break, many shops and restaurants in the town have already put signs of suspension. Seeing this, Li Shenxing couldn’t help but be glad that he was moving fast enough, otherwise he might not be able to have lunch.

Seeing that everyone was closing the door and going home to rest, I thought this would be the case when I came to the church, so Li Shenxing asked back home.

When I returned to the shelter and passed by the yard, I saw a lot of pilgrims. Some gathered together to chat, while others lived alone, either writing a log or basking in the sun leisurely.

If the travel notes had not been written and the photos and videos had not been uploaded to the cloud for backup, Li Shenxing actually wanted to join them.

At 7 o'clock in the evening in Spain, the sun was still hanging on the mountain and refused to set. I wonder if I was lingering in the beauty of this world.

Hearing that the main church in the town held a mass tonight, Li Shenxing followed the pilgrims to go there.

The main church in Roncesvalles town is not big, but it is very exquisitely built. So far, it is the most exquisite church that Li Shenxing has ever seen. If it weren't for the pilgrimage, Li Shenxing would probably never come to this place in his life. I wonder if it was because of this the first church I encountered on the French Road in Santiago, I always thought that this church looked more unique.

At the beginning of the Mass, the priest prayed for the pilgrims on the Road to Santiago, and each of the pilgrims held a leaf in his hand. After the blessings were over, the pilgrims could receive the baptism of the holy water.

During the next hour of preaching, the priest's gentle and low voice fell on the stone wall of the gorgeous circular dome, forming a thick echo. Unfortunately, Li Shenxing was not very proficient in Spanish and really didn't understand what the priest was saying. At the beginning, he tried to maintain sacredness and solemnity, but soon his mind jumped around and looked around, and then he saw many people wandering around like him.

In fact, there were many pilgrims who did not understand Spanish along the way, and even many were not Catholics. Fortunately, the church was not a classroom, and the priest was not a teacher. They would not use the teaching stick to urge everyone to concentrate on listening.

Finally, until the priest said in English, "Catholics please come forward", Li Shenxing immediately withdrew from the church without hesitation because... the supper time has come!!!

The 10-Euro Pilgrim set meal is quite cost-effective. One soup, one macaroni and one main course, drink the red wine as long as you drink it quickly enough. Li Shenxing chose the main course, mainly because he didn't expect that he could eat such fresh fish in the mountains. He was curious and wanted to try it. Unexpectedly, the taste was quite good, except that he needed to season it with pepper and salt himself.

The first three dishes tasted good, but the dessert looked a little simpler, with only one cup of yogurt, which tasted ok, and in general, it was still a very healthy dessert.

During the pilgrimage, the UN General Assembly was the same table as Li Shenxing, including a Dutch girl, a Finnish boy, an American couple, a Hungarian girl, a Venezuelan mother and daughter, and a German grandfather whom Orisson met the day before.

During the meal, we talked about the enduring topic of why everyone came to go to Camino. Among them, the American uncle said that he had died of a heart disease for a few minutes, but fortunately he was rescued, so he decided to retire and come to understand his life!

This reminds Li Shenxing of "The Tomb of Fireflies" by Neon novelist Akira Nosaka. The original sentence in it is: Cherish today and cherish the present. Who knows which one will come first, tomorrow or accident.

Indeed, everyone who embarked on the road of pilgrimage has their own reasons and expectations. Some people are for religious beliefs, but Li Shenxing is not! Some people are for the purpose of getting rid of troubles, but Li Shenxing does not!

Perhaps as the priest said at Mass, the only thing that Li Shenxing can pursue is inner peace.

Day 2, the planned stay point today is Larrasoana, 27 kilometers away from Roncesvalles.

Li Shenxing sets the departure time for himself to be the sunrise, which is before 8 o'clock. Because the pilgrimage road is all the way west, whenever he walks on the road in the early morning every day, the sun will slowly rise behind him, and the scenery in front of him will slowly change with the rise of the sun. This change is very suitable for taking photos, and the photos taken are also very textured.

There was no breakfast available in the shelter today, so Li Shenxing set out some time in advance.

Speaking of departure, in order to avoid the uncertainty and danger of crossing the Pyrenees on the first day, many pilgrims chose to start from Roncesvalles as the starting point for their hike. So when they set off today, Li Shenxing found that there were obviously more pilgrims on the road.

Seeing the big street signs in "The Way", Li Shenxing wanted to find someone to help him and take a commemorative photo.

But before he could speak, he was recognized by a passing pilgrim.

"May I ask... is it Li Shenxing?" a young man asked in Korean.

"Ah~ Yes, I'm Li Shenxing."

Since we have ‘knowed’, let’s talk about it. Anyway, the meaning of the pilgrimage is to constantly encounter and parting.

The two of them chatted about what they encountered during the pilgrimage. Before they knew it, they arrived at the next village. Li Shenxing decided to have breakfast first, and Brother Song, who had already had breakfast, chose to continue moving forward, so Li Shenxing hugged and said goodbye to him.

No matter how small the town along the Pilgrimage Road is, the church is standard, and there are small cafes and restaurants dedicated to serving pilgrims. They are open entirely based on the pilgrimage schedule, so you don’t have to worry about getting hungry on the way. As for the variety you can choose, it can only be the ultimate simple. There are not many choices for croissants + black coffee. Fortunately, Li Shenxing is not a spoiled person. Some foods are good in such an environment.

After a simple breakfast, he sat for a few more minutes and sent a message to Hyori, he put his bags on his back and set off for Santiago de Compostela.

In fact, it is good to walk alone. Although it is a little lonely, you can walk at your own speed and leave as long as you want. If you are tired, you can rest as long as you want, without having to care about your companions.

The next section of the road was easier to walk. After passing several pastures along the way, Li Shenxing also went to the cow pen to see the stupid and cute calf.

When I passed by a small town, I don’t know if I had not gotten up or went out to work, but I didn’t see anyone, and it was quiet, but the house was very beautiful and as enthusiastic as the Spanish.

I walked very comfortably today. Apart from eating and supplementing vitamins (juice), I didn't stop and rest all the way until Li Shen walked to the town of Larrasoana where I planned to stay.

Before I could enter the town, I met an uncle who was sending flyers and introducing him to a private Albergue accommodation in San Nicolas.

Li Shenxing saw the introduction and internal pictures uploaded, and felt it was pretty good. He decided to go and take a look first, and if it is not suitable, he would go to the shelter.

This private hostel called San Nicolas actually feels similar to a homestay, and is decorated very homely.

The uncle who sent the flyer was actually the owner of the hostel. He introduced that the second and third floors are guest rooms, including four-person rooms and six-person rooms; the first floor is a public area, with a simple kitchen, restaurant, laundry room and a place dedicated to shoe and cane.

After showing the pilgrim check-in, he was assigned a six-person dormitory to Li Shenxing. The bed fee was 12 euros. It was not only not expensive, but it was quite expensive. He slept very well that night and did not wake up until dawn.

Although the bathroom here is public, the hot water is vast and time-limited. Li Shenxing can't wait to take a refreshing hot bath immediately.

Today is another day of tiring and enjoyment, and I hope tomorrow will be smooth.
