[025] New Year's Eve

Chapter 25: New Year

I sat in the car and talked about my grandmother's recent situation and asked about my grandmother's physical condition. First wash and soak the dried mushrooms, rinse the crucian carp, chicken and the required ingredients first. When buying the fish and chicken, the vendor helps slaughter them.

After the chicken is stir-fried and colored, pour in the dried mushrooms and continue stir-frying for a while, add a large bowl of water, add a little salt, then cover and simmer over low heat, wait until the soup is thick and add the scallion sections and stir-fry for a while. Li Shenxing stewed the chickens with mushrooms in two servings.

Fry the two crucian carp slowly over low heat, wait until golden brown, cut into pieces and place them in two dishes, sprinkle with shredded green onion. Add the remaining oil of the fried fish to the ginger slices and scallion slices to stir up the fragrance, add a bowl of water, add light soy sauce, cooking wine, a spoonful of pepper, a little salt, and a little sugar. After the soup starts, pour in a little vinegar, then pour in the raw powder mixed with water, pour the collected sauce on the fish, and the fish will be ready every year.

After setting all the dishes on the table, you can ask grandma and the others to come out for the New Year’s Eve dinner.

After everyone got into the table, Li Shenxing picked up a piece of fish for his grandmother, "Grandma is there a fish to taste every year."

A meal lasted for more than an hour. Women cleaned up the dishes and prepared the fruit after the meal, and men sat on the sofa to digest food and chat.

My grandmother is old and goes to bed early at less than ten o'clock. The two children are also rushed to bed by his mother, and the rest are going to bed after midnight.

In Korea, during the Spring Festival, the most important activity is to worship ancestors. Therefore, Lee Shenxing and Hyo-ri also got up early, changed into Korean clothes, and prepared to worship ancestors. Koreans believe that only this genius will come back and taste the sacrificial food. After the mother and aunt set up all the sacrifices, they can worship. After worshiping ancestors, the younger generations will kowtow to the elders to wish the New Year, and the elders will pay New Year’s money to the younger generations. The order of New Year’s greetings should be "Grandparents-parents-uncle-uncle-uncle-uncle-brothers". The greetings of peers will be "blessed in the new year". Li Shenxing and Hyoly also gave New Year’s money to the two nephews.

Only after the sacrifice is over can you eat the first meal - rice cake soup. Eating a bowl on the morning of the first day of the lunar month means the light of the sun and the purity of all things, which means bidding farewell to the old and welcome the new, and being reunited with beautiful reunion.

Rice cake slice soup is not difficult to make. Put a piece of beef in the pot, pour water into the beef, cook over high heat until it boils, turn to medium heat for about 30 minutes, add scallion slices and green onions, and continue to cook for about 30 minutes.
