Chapter 3441 The Son of Midnight 14
Chapter 3415 Midnight Son (14)
Stark got out of the car and looked at the house in front of him. This is a very typical American villa: the house is divided into two parts, the main structure on the left and the garage on the right; it has sky blue roofs and white walls. Because it is just around the corner of a street, the yard is much larger than other houses.
Stark walked to the trunk of the car, took out the air box, and walked over and rang the doorbell. After a while, the door was pushed open, and the red-haired witch wearing a white thin silk jacket and black wide-leg pants walked out.
"Oh my God, I thought you would be blocking the road for a while." Wanda opened the door for Stark, and Stark walked into the yard and looked around.
"This is the first time you're here?" Wanda smiled and said, "We've just moved from the Bronx. Parker's house is two streets away. There are many Spider-Man coming and going here. The security is much better than elsewhere, and the housing prices are rising."
"You're neighbors with Peter?" Stark said in surprise. "They should have moved not long ago, right?"
"How is it possible? They have to live here for two or three years." Wanda opened the door to the house and asked Stark to go in.
The decoration of Wanda's house is also very classic. After entering the door, there is a small corridor, then the living room and an open kitchen; after the door on the right is opened, there is a dining room, the other side of the living room is a bathroom, and the bedrooms are all upstairs.
The house is not big, but it is well-maintained. All kinds of hooks on the kitchen walls are hung with kitchen utensils of the same color, and the dishes are neatly arranged. Stark opened the refrigerator and took a look and found it was full of food.
"I'm preparing for the community college entrance exam recently." Wanda walked over and washed Stark a basket of blackberries, and said, "Although Dr. Schiller and Dr. Strange are willing to give me a letter of recommendation, I think even if I go to a prestigious university, I may not be able to keep up with the course. It's better to go to the community college to study the basics first, and then go to the community hospital for an internship. This will make it closer to home and make it easier for me to take care of the two brothers."
Wanda turned on the coffee machine again, and the aroma of fresh beans wafted away.
Stark nodded and threw a blackberry into his mouth. The rich sweetness and fruity aroma rushed into his nose. The morning light spread on the island through the plaid curtains, and the light and shadows swayed; fresh humid air came from the back door. At this moment, he seemed to be able to understand why Wanda liked such a life.
"Okay, ma'am, where is your sweeping robot?"
"Sweeping robot? Our house doesn't... Oh, you say Jarvis. This joke is not funny at all." Wanda smiled helplessly, walked out of the kitchen, carried the airbox at the door, and said, "He is taking care of the children upstairs. Let me take a look at these little babies first."
Wanda opened the airbox, and Stark covered his ears very skillfully. Sure enough, a scream came from the living room.
"O God!!! Oh, God! God!!!"
Wanda carried out three furry little cats with one hand. The little cat was lying in her arms, shaking her head left and right in a daze, making a purr.
"Oh my God, they're so cute. I said adopting them together would be a good choice..."
Stark stretched out his hands and put them in front of him and said, "I can fully understand your love for small animals, but this thing is actually..."
"What's wrong?" Wanda asked without raising her head.
"Uh, they are good at it..." Stark kept turning his hands, as if he wanted to find an accurate adjective, and after thinking for a long time, he said, "...Adult human space transfer magic."
"What are you talking about?" Wanda said a little bit unto him, "Are you talking about me? Don't worry, I won't use magic on them casually. These little things are very fragile, and I can't bear to bear to hurt them."
Stark was helpless, so he walked over quickly, picked up one of them, and pointed it at Wanda.
One second passed, two seconds passed. When Wanda's eyes gradually began to develop towards caring for mental retardation, Stark took his arm back and gently scratched the kitten's forehead.
"Hey, what's wrong with you? Why don't you spit out your tentacles?"
The kitten gave him a look of contempt.
Stark was shocked, he was sure that he was absolutely right. This little thing about the size of his slap in the face just now looked at him with contempt.
"Nick should have said this thing is wise, right?" Jarvis walked down the stairs and said, "You can't expect anything wise to get angry at the Scarlet Witch."
Stark angrily stuffed the cat back into Wanda's hand, and Wanda looked at him inexplicably.
Wanda took the cat upstairs and first placed them in the baby room where the two brothers were no longer in use. He told them to stay well, change their clothes and walk down the stairs.
"I'm going out to buy some pet supplies and send some blackberries and muffin powder to Parker's house. You guys talk first."
The sound of closing the door came from the front of the living room. Jarvis took over the coffee machine, and after a while, he brewed two strong and fragrant cups of coffee and placed one of them in front of Stark.
"What do you think about the Bronx before?" Stark took a sip of the coffee, marveling at the freshness of the coffee beans, but he didn't want to act too ignorant.
But Jarvis first answered the question he didn't ask, saying, "Petro brought it back from Yunnan and it was just less than two hours after harvesting it. It tasted pretty good, right?"
"Has he gone to China?"
"He found a job in Hong Kong, mainly responsible for the contacts of the Far Stars, and traveling between the Earth and Neptune's Star Port."
"This is very suitable for him," Stark commented. "He runs fast enough to send information as soon as possible if he encounters an emergency such as a communication interruption."
"Yes, he works very well there. But he probably will go to Andromeda again in the second half of the year. Eric can't accept that he has three children, but only one of them works with him, and he is not sincere."
"How is the North Star? Are the two of them still quarreling every day?"
"She and Iceman have broken up again, and the relationship with Eric is still fine. It's almost two months since the fight started."
“Is the ‘good’ standard a little too low?”
"Believe me, this is a pretty amazing breakthrough." Jarvis put the coffee cup back on the table and said, "There has been significant progress in the policing of Queens, and there is obviously Spider-Man's credit. Basically every new Spider-Man visits Peter's house and solves the crime on the way."
"You mean we should suggest a superhero move to the Bronx?"
Jarvis said helplessly: "Of course not, listen to me. I mean, the security issue in Queens can be solved so simply because the situation here is much simpler than that in the Bronx. Ethnic and religious beliefs are not that complicated. Even if the race is different, most people believe in the same religion and do not have too many conflicts."
"But the Bronx is different," he said. "The religious situation there is more complicated than the sleeping rules of the Billy brothers. In addition, different races, ethnicities, and selection are not simply a solution to the fight against crime."
"Take the black parade that had had armed conflicts before," Jarvis said. "The reason was that a single black mother was discriminated against, but in the end two policemen and several innocent people were injured in the conflict. It is difficult to tell who is right and who is wrong."
“Isn’t it the racist’s fault?”
"Of course, in theory, this should be the fault of the racially discriminatory ticket seller. But his mistake was attributed to all white people, causing conflicts between races and becoming a complex social problem. It is no longer possible to solve the mistakes of a certain person."
Stark sighed, and he remembered Miles' words again. Anti-racism bills have been introduced for decades, but some conventional social rules are still the same, without any change. The contradictions and conflicts that should be found have never been resolved.
"Because of the complex situation in the Bronx, everyone who wants to make trouble starts here," Jarvis said with a spreading hand. "This will lead to worse situations in the Bronx, and then more people will get involved, forming a vicious cycle."
"What do you think should be done? Could it be possible to segregate apartheid?"
"Don't be angry, sir," said Jarvis. "We can't reverse history. It's easy to solve the problem in the Bronx."
"You're going to tell me how to solve it."
"Copy homework." Jarvis took out a book from behind and said, "This is what Pitro brought back from Hong Kong."
Stark took it and the cover was filled with Chinese characters, which he couldn't quite understand, but there was a line in English below, which read "A hundred years of Hong Kong".
Stark looked through it and found that it was a bilingual book. He roughly checked the catalogue and seemed to be mainly talking about Hong Kong history.
“Do something advanced artificial intelligence should do,” Stark said, “to summarize the most important content in this book.”
"The whole book is the focus." Jarvis said with a smile, "You can focus on the part of public security management. As long as you can copy halfway, the problems in the Bronx will be solved."
Stark frowned and looked through the book, as if he was a little suspicious. He said: "The East and the West are always different. Do you think I don't want to have the efficiency like China? The problem is that our backward hardware facilities cannot support the new system at all..."
"You'll know, just look," said Jarvis. "The situation in Hong Kong and the Bronx in the last century are actually very similar, with ethnic groups, gangs, and various public security issues emerging one after another..."
Stark put away the book and said, "I will go back and have a look."
"You can also consult Dr. Schiller when necessary," said Jarvis. "He has many friends in Hong Kong, or Dr. Strange, and he is also familiar with people from the Hong Kong Temple."
"You have successfully selected two people I least want to look for." Stark rolled his eyes slightly.
"Don't do this, sir," said Jarvis. "This is a serious business. Of course, you can't open the box when doing the experiment, but if the whole building catches the fire and you run out with the box, he will still have to thank you."
Stark's eyes rolled and said, "It's not good to light the entire building just to see if there are cats in the box, right?"
"Quality on the contrary," Jarvis shrugged, "Didn't Dr. Schiller did this before? The Bronx problem will be solved sooner or later, why can't it be this time?"
"Okay." Stark shook his hands, gradually clenched into fists, and then stood up and said, "If we didn't run away..."
