Chapter 5 Lewandowski's Big Question

Robert Lewandowski came to Dortmund from Polish powerhouse Poznan Leh in the summer of 2010. The transfer fee was 4.75 million euros. At that time, this value was the most that Dortmund spent in the transfer market that summer.

But in the Bundesliga transfer market that summer, such a little money was not enough.

That year's Bundesliga summer transfer bidder belonged to Wolfsburg's Brazilian midfielder Diego, who spent 15.5 million euros to bring Diego from Juventus to Germany.

The second highest-priced transfer was Schalke 04's Hunteral from AC Milan, and the Dutch scorer spent 14 million euros on Magath.

Lewandowski, who came to Dortmund with an inconspicuous transfer fee, did not make a big splash, even though he was a Golden Boot Scorer in the Polish League One before coming to Dortmund, and scored 18 goals in his 28 league games.

He was at a disadvantage in the competition with Barrios and Mark Wagner.

However, the goddess of luck finally favored the Polish high center forward.

Barrios was squeezed out of the main position by Mark who was in excellent form, but then when Mark's condition was booming, he encountered a serious injury, giving Lewandowski a chance to stand out.

The 2011-2012 season just started. Last season's main scorer Mark Wagner was seriously injured while participating in the national team competition and was reimbursed. Fate joked about Mark and then pushed Lewandowski to the center of the stage.

Lewandowski also firmly grasped this opportunity and became Klopp's most trusted striker with goals one after another. The 2011-2012 season was a season when Lewandowski officially became the main player of Dortmund's forward. In this season, Lewandowski made 34 appearances in the league, scoring 22 goals, and also had eight assists. He made six appearances in the German Cup and scored seven goals, especially in the German Cup final. Facing the powerful Bayern Munich, he completed a hat trick, helping Dortmund beat Bayern Munich 5-2 and won the German Cup trophy.

His outstanding performance almost forgot about Mark Wagner who was injured and missed a season.

When Lewandowski transferred to Dortmund, his annual salary was 1.5 million euros before tax. When Dortmund defended the league championship in the 2011-2012 season, this salary was completely incompatible with Lewandowski's ability.

In fact, as early as the 2011-2012 season, Dortmund Club had already started renewing its contract with Lewandowski. After Mark was seriously injured, Lewandowski became the only support on Dortmund's forward line. Of course, Dortmund had to find a way to renew Lewandowski's contract.

Lewandowski also felt that the salary of 1.5 million euros was too small, and he hoped to get more.

Since both parties have the need to renew their contracts and have the same purpose, as long as they work hard, they can reach an agreement.

But the result was contrary to expectations.

The Dortmund club hopes to renew Lewandowski's contract until 2017 and provides a new contract.

But Lewandowski was not satisfied with the club's conditions. He hoped to get an annual salary of 3 million euros, which is the same as the team's captain Kyle.

The request from Lewandowski was rejected by the Dortmund club. They were unwilling to give Lewandowski an annual salary of three million euros. They believed that Lewandowski was not worth the price.

Moreover, Lewandowski's agent publicly complained to the media about Dortmund's actions, which made Dortmund furious. The club's CEO Vatsk said: "Yes, the club has provided a renewal offer for the players, but the agent Kuharski is not satisfied. However, I still want to tell him that it is not a good practice to publicly complain to the outside world during the renewal process."

The contract renewal negotiations between the two sides were in a deadlock.

At that time, Dortmund obviously did not take Lewandowski too seriously. Their contract renewal focus was Gotze and Zhou Yi.

Lewandowski's agent won a verbal promise from Dortmund for Lewandowski. Since the two sides cannot renew the contract, many Tymond clubs should allow Lewandowski to find new owners on their own. As long as the team's offer reaches or exceeds 25 million euros, many Tymond should allow Lewandowski to leave.

Since Lewandowski and Dortmund's contract expired in the summer of 2014, Lewandowski should be allowed to leave Dortmund in the summer of 2013.

That's this summer.

At that time, the 2011-2012 season was not over yet. How could the senior executives of Dortmund club think so much?

Perhaps they don’t think there can be a team that can pay 25 million euros for Lewandowski. You should know that as a core player of Dortmund, Shahin only had 10 million euros when he transferred to Real Madrid.

So the senior executives of the Dortmund club agreed and made a verbal promise.

Then Lewandowski's agent began to work hard for Lewandowski's new owner, and he was determined to get Lewandowski to leave Dortmund.

Although Lewandowski's performance in the new season continued to be very good, which made Dortmund's senior executives want to regret it, they still have to admit what they said, so Dortmund did not do anything else. Anyway, they think that if a club is willing to pay 25 million to buy Lewandowski, then it may not be possible to sell it.

Two-five million is still a "huge sum" for Dortmund, who wants to spend a son in half - their 17.5 million euros from Borussia Mönchengladbach, was the biggest transfer expense since the club reconstruction work in 2005.

Lewandowski's agent is indeed capable. They finally found a new owner for Lewandowski who was willing to pay 25 million euros - Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski's agent Kuhals once publicly announced to the Polish media: "I can assure you that Lewandowski will play for a larger club next season. I hope the two clubs can finally reach an agreement."

Kuharsky's partner Bater also made it clear: "We have accepted an invitation from another club, and Lewandowski is preparing to transfer this summer."

Although neither agent directly pointed out, everyone knew that what they were talking about was Bayern Munich.

According to Bild, Lewandowski's agent has entered into an agreement with Bayern Munich club, and the two parties will sign a contract for four years.

Faced with the statement of Lewandowski's agent and the content of Bistro, the Dortmund Club did not respond much, and everything seemed to be going well.

But things changed after Bayern Munich launched the breach fee clause in Gotze's contract, forcibly poached Gotze.

After Gotze is destined to leave the team, if the team's top scorer is released, it will be a huge damage to the team's strength.

The Dortmund club was unwilling to take such risks. So they restarted their contract renewal of Lewandowski, hoping to keep Lewandowski.

This time, the new contract they provided for Lewandowski with an annual salary of an astonishing seven million!

This number has surpassed Gotze, who has been confirmed to leave the team, and has become the highest salary for the team.

It seems that Gotze's surprise attack by Bayern Munich did make Dortmund club panic. He offered such a sky-high annual salary contract in the hope of impressing Lewandowski with money. At this time, they didn't care about any financial health, although this word has been spoken many times by them to deal with the players' requirements for renewal and salary increase... This seems really ironic...

But how could the relegated Lewandowski, who has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich Club, give up the contract that has been negotiated? Although Dortmund has suppressed Bayern Munich in terms of performance in recent years, in the eyes of most people, Bayern Munich is more financially powerful, famous and status than Dortmund.

Lewandowski went to Bayern Munich, of course, more promising than staying in Dortmund. At that time, Bayern Munich was still ahead of Dortmund in the league standings, and Dortmund was not sure that they could reach the Champions League final.

As a result, Lewandowski performed an amazing four-year good match in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. While creating history, it also made Dortmund Club even more panicked. If Lewandowski is allowed to leave again, the senior executives of Dortmund Club may be sent by Dortmund fans...

So they continued to put pressure on Lewandowski.

Under such circumstances, Lewandowski's agent Kuharsky had to reveal to the media that they had an oral agreement with the Dortmund club. As long as other clubs offer Lewandowski 25 million euros this summer, Dortmund will release people.

Lewandowski's agent hopes to regain the initiative through such actions.

As a result, Dortmund CEO Vatsk did not admit that there was such an agreement: "...The transfer depends not only on the players' wishes, but also on the club's ideas. We have not received any official offer at present. Lewandowski and the club have a contract that expired in 2014, and there is no termination clause in the contract..."

Votsk's statement made Kuharsky very dissatisfied. The Polish agent said in an interview with Spiegel: "Bortmond had previously assured us that as long as the transfer fee reaches a certain amount, he would agree to the player's transfer this summer. We will insist on the club fulfilling its promise."

It's like this that both sides are on the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the verge of the

At that time, because the season was not over and the conflict had not been intensified, both sides intentionally controlled the scale.

For example, Lewandows, a basic person, said after this: "I want to dedicate my goals in the Champions League semi-finals to my deceased father. Whenever I score an important goal, I will always dedicate them to him. We have a few rounds of Bundesliga and the Champions League game, which is the most important thing. As for the transfer situation, let's wait and see what will happen in the future, but I won't comment on it..."

Now that the season is over, Dortmund has won the league championship and the Champions League, there is nothing else to stop the fight between the club and Lewandowski's agent.
