Chapter 6 Buddha said there are signs

The young lady was still thinking about asking Li Ye for a clear answer. Li Ye and Agui had already walked to the hall of the Great Buddha Temple, waiting for the summons with Lao Shang.

The morning class in the temple has been completed. Except for those on duty, the monks in the temple have returned to the meditation room to rest. There are only three or two pilgrims from the city praying in front of the Buddha, and the Buddha's name floats in the hall.

Li Ye looked up at the Buddha statue in the hall, and was talking about the six-character mantra delivered by Mr. Nian, thinking to himself how I would practice to reach the state mentioned in the "No Formless Dharma Body".

After a while, a little monk came over and led Li Ye and Agui to the Zen room of Monk Kuchan.

Agui presented a vegetarian ceremony to the old monk, left the Zen room and went outside to wait for Li Ye. The young monk brought Li Ye a bowl of tea and turned around and left.

The old monk looked at Li Ye with a solemn look on his face and could not tell the joy of sadness and joy. He said, "No, it looks clean and has a lot of energy."

Li Ye hurriedly replied: "Master, sir, that's what he said."

The old monk said, "You are here today, are there anything wrong?"

Li Ye turned around and said, "The last time the master preached the Dharma to his disciples, he has never thanked him for his great kindness. This time he wants to ask for advice and answer questions."

"The thunder from a few days ago struck you, right?" The old monk took a sip of tea.

"Master, the disciple accidentally got struck by lightning again. His hair was burnt, so he just shaved it." Li Ye replied.

The old monk sighed softly and said, "Thunder strikes you for your own good! Do you think, how many children are in Fengyun City, why don't others slash? Also, you are only as old as you have already built your foundation."

Li Ye was shocked and asked, "Master, how did you know that I have built a foundation?"

The old monk smiled and said, "You have cultivated my Buddhist formless Dharma body and blocked your cultivation. Others can't see it, but I can. Moreover, I know that you are facing a problem in the second level when you come to me."

Li Ye patted his chest and replied, "It doesn't matter if the master sees it, as long as the others in the city can't see it."

"Master, when I was practicing the second level of the Dharma Body, it said that sentient beings have appearances, self-images, human appearances, sentient beings, and longevity. The second level of Dharma is to first cultivate the self-image. Master, what is the self-image?"

The old monk picked up the flower with his left hand, turned the Buddhist beads with his right hand, and said, "Om, ma, ni, Ba, Mi, Hum!" I saw a golden light emerging behind the old monk, and the room was shining.

Li Ye was stunned.

The old monk looked compassionately and slowly said: My appearance, people rely on their wealth, knowledge, status, and despise all people. They are called my appearance.

This is the deep-rooted ego, also called self-consciousness. From a few years old, ordinary people will slowly rise in their daily lives.

What is my name, what is my appearance, what is my ability, how high my practice is, how noble my family is, etc. This is called the self-image. As long as I think of "I", as long as I have "I", I will not see the true reality of all dharmas.

For example, your friend, the general's mansion is a little princess. She will think that she is from a noble family and now she practices with a master with high martial arts skills. She will be nobler than many people.

For example, you will think that you were born in the Master's academy and read more books than others, and you practiced with Mr. Mo again. This is also a fate that others do not have. You will think that you have been struck by a second lightning from birth to now. This is also the capital of your pride, don't you think?

The old monk smiled and said one by one, explaining Li Ye's many doubts in his heart.

Li Ye lowered his head and pondered for a long time, raised his head, looked at the old monk, and then replied for a while, "Master, it turns out that I have always thought that I have always been like this. Even if I think I am Agui's master, I am nobler than him."

After saying that, he looked repentant and tears flowed down his eyes.

When the old monk saw Li Ye's appearance, he was very happy and said to himself: "The son can teach you."

After watching two bowls of tea, the old monk said, "You have Buddha nature and can practice Buddhism. Are you willing to worship me as your teacher and learn Buddhism?"

Li Ye quickly knelt down, kowtowed to the old monk, and said, "Respecting the teacher is above, I will be bowed by my disciples."

The old monk helped Li Ye up with both hands, full of joy, "From today, you will be my disciple. May you have no dust and no form on your path of cultivation, and your name is: Wuchen."

Li Ye was grateful again, put his hands together and saluted the old monk.

"You are just practicing Buddhism with me and don't need to become a monk, so the precepts do not require you to be high. Remember: Can you do it by keeping the lies, respecting Buddha and others, and not taking the initiative to kill animals?"

Li Ye nodded and said, "Master, don't worry, I will respect all Buddhas, respect the teacher and do not kill animals indiscriminately."

The old monk also nodded, expressing his praise. He said, "I just said that I am like this. You should practice first from now on. When one day I am like this, I will teach you what the selflessness is."

The old monk took a sip of tea and continued to say, "The principle of self-image has been told to you, how to practice yourself. You can go to the temple of all Buddhas, observe the appearance of all Buddhas with your eyes, and then practice your own self-image."

"Master, how do you practice?" Li Ye really didn't understand and thought to himself that I'm not yet ready.

The old monk said softly: "What Buddhist practice says is: standing like pine, walking like wind, sitting like bell, I am indecisive and perfect. You start by holding water first, and when you go back to the academy, you should first hold three bowls of water, one bowl on your head, and one bowl on your shoulders. When will you walk and not spill water, come again."

He waved his hand and asked Li Ye to leave and go to the front of the hall to see the Buddha statue.

Li Ye bowed to the old monk, turned around and left the Zen room, called Agui, and went to the main hall to see the Buddha statue.

The two of them arrived at the hall and meditated in front of the Buddha. While Li Ye was reciting the scriptures, he carefully observed the Buddhist Dharma.

But I saw that each of the great Buddhas in the hall was solemn and solemn. No one looked from the left or from the right, and they were perfect. Whether it was the Buddha's hand holding a flower, the Buddha's hand holding a beggar, or the Buddha's Buddha holding a sword, all of them were wonderful images, and the more you looked at it, the more you became fascinated.

Before he realized it was noon, Agui touched his stomach and said, "Young Master, it's noon and I'm hungry, let's go back."

Li Ye looked back at the sky, looked at Agui again, and said, "I know how to eat, okay, let's do this now. Let's go back to the academy to cook, and I guess the teacher didn't eat it either."

Agui was happy and quickly helped Li Ye get up, thinking: I don’t think I’m hungry.

The two left the hall, left the Great Buddha Temple, and returned to Mr. Zizhuyuan.

The two of them were walking on the street, and in the afternoon, people came and went, and everyone they knew pointed at Li Yexiao: Are we young talented men in Fengyun City going to become monks?

Li Ye wanted to be angry, but when he thought about the old monk's appearance, he didn't say anything to everyone. He just smiled faintly at everyone and told Agui to go quickly and be hungry.

Everyone laughed, the little monk was shy.

On the way home from the Tang Dynasty in the academy, he also met Li Ye. He ran over quickly, held Li Ye's hand, and shouted: "Brother, I haven't seen you for a few days, why have you become a monk? Who are we brothers to go to play in the future?" After that, he had to touch Li Ye's bald head with his hand.

Li Ye was so angry that he immediately wanted to get rid of others. When he was raising his hand to beat the Tang Dynasty, he thought to himself if I was a sign of my appearance? I endured it!

So, he grabbed the hand of the Tang Dynasty and said earnestly: "Brother, your belly has grown again. Hurry up and try to lose weight. Maybe the princess of the brigade general's mansion will change her mind!"

After saying that, he let go of his hand and said, "I'll go to my husband's yard to practice. Do you want to go with me?"

When Tang Chao heard this, he screamed: "The young lady from the General's Mansion will keep it for you and ask her to hit you eight times a day! She has to go back to the academy to take the Master's class in the afternoon. If you miss the class, you will be beaten by Master's board. You will leave."

After walking a few steps, he looked back at you Ye and shouted, "By the way, you won't really become a monk, right? Do I want to call you a master in the future?" After that, he turned around and ran away.

Li Ye was so angry that he couldn't help but pick up a stone from the ground and threw it towards the Tang Dynasty. He heard a strange scream from afar.

Agui laughed at the back. He thought to himself that there is always no shortage of jokes when he follows the young master.

The master and servant walked to the door of the general's mansion without realizing it. The young lady was looking at Li Ye with her hands crossed. Li Ye wanted to turn around and run away, but she didn't expect her sister to sway her skirt and chase her. She ran and shouted, "Li Ye, stop, run, and I will chase to Zizhuyuan!"

When Li Ye heard that he had no idea, he had to stop and look at the young lady who was running near him speechlessly. Agui sneaked to the side and smiled foolishly.

The young lady ran to Li Ye, raised her hand like Tang Dynasty and wanted to touch Li Ye's bald head. Li Ye was shocked, jumped away suddenly, and shouted: "What do you want to do? There is something different between men and women!"

The young lady didn't touch it all at once, and said to Li Yexun with her mouth shut: "Okay, why did you shave your hair? Are you thinking about going to the Big Buddha Temple to be a monk? Be careful that my father goes to the Big Buddha Temple, and the monk is not allowed to accept you!"

When Li Ye heard this, he laughed angrily, thinking to himself, "I am your person, but I have no worries to say it, and just replied: "Princess, please respect yourself. The Great Buddha Temple is a pure Buddhist land, is it a place where the general obeys the orders?"

The young lady was anxious when she heard this, and jumped and said, "How dare he not listen?"

Li Ye thought to himself, can't you hide if I can't afford to offend me, and quickly replied: "Okay, your family is the biggest, I will listen to you!"

His eyes rolled and he replied: "Your Highness, you have become a monk in the Great Buddha Temple. Don't hold a grudge against me anymore! Otherwise, you can consider the boy from the Tang Dynasty in our academy. Wouldn't it be more fun to catch him and lose weight?"

After saying this, he gave Agui a look, meaning that you are not hungry? Go away quickly. After that, I will run away first.

I gave the young lady a hand gesture that I met again. The young lady was so angry that she had toothache. I thought to myself that I didn’t bring the arrows out, so why would I give you an arrow to your butt and make you feel proud.

"I said Li Ye, don't be proud. Be careful that one day I will go to the master to discuss the argument with you. I will teach you and take you to practice archery techniques for a few days, and see where you will hide when you are!" The young lady was angry and thought to herself that she was against you.

Li Ye was shocked. Maybe this girl really dared to find the gentleman, and her steps could not help but be faster.

The sun was high, and the young lady turned around and went home to have dinner.
