Chapter 2659 A Tale of Two Cities(1/2)
Chapter 2661 "London Landmark" (Part 1)
In order to prepare for Severus's celebration banquet, Pomona and Severus had a lot of things to do, and this was despite Narcissa "taking the initiative" to take on most of the work.
"Snape!"
While the two of them were having breakfast, a young man with long blond curly hair came over and shouted in surprise.
The "professor" who always had a sullen face in school now smiled, stood up and shook hands with the other person.
"Long time no see, Cody," Severus said.
"It's been a long time indeed. Why the wind... No, wait, let me guess, you need me to do you a little favor, right?" Cody said understandingly.
Severus smiled and said nothing.
"Where will your celebration party be held?" Cody asked next.
"Have you heard?" Severus asked.
"Haha, the new star in the potion world, how could I not have heard of you? All the parties are talking about you." Cody said.
"Excessive praise." Severus said modestly.
"Who is this beautiful lady?" Cody noticed Pomona at this time.
"She is a 'friend' here to help," Severus said.
"Are you planning the party?" Cody asked.
"No..." Pomona said quickly.
"It's Mrs. Malfoy. She was so generous that she lent me her family's manor," Severus said.
"It's Malfoy Manor, right? When?" Cody asked.
"On the eve of the Quidditch World Cup, and on the day of the World Cup, her family's tent also needs help, and the Minister of Magic will also go there."
"I understand." Cody winked at Severus, "I won't disturb you anymore. See you next time."
"Goodbye," Severus said, and returned to his seat.
Pomona looked at him in a new light.
He seemed to be unaware and ate the beans on the plate.
"Who is 'Cody'?" Pomona finally asked.
"A former colleague." He said expressionlessly, as if the chickpeas on the plate had become extremely charming.
"What else?" Pomona asked.
"This is our first task. In formal social occasions, it is more appropriate for humans to serve as waiters."
Pomona understood that this was a human habit. A good house elf could not be seen, although it was not unusual to see teapots and plates floating in the air in the magical world.
"Cody is a Muggle?" Pomona asked.
"No, he's a wizard." Severus said expressionlessly, "It's like a wizard working in the postal service."
"Oh, I understand, this is our second mission." She asked smartly, "Why not use an owl?"
"Wizard families don't use owls to send invitations." He said in a lecturing tone, "Except for Hogwarts, there is no floo network between there and the outside world, so owls are used."
Pomona thought he meant something else.
"Narcissa Malfoy wants to use the Queen's servants?" Pomona asked.
He chewed the beans and stared at her.
Pomona thought it would be better if she didn't say anything.
"Sending the invitations is in the afternoon, and we will make an appointment with the cocktail bartender in the morning." Severus said after swallowing the beans, "You have to go to the hotel with me."
Pomona almost choked to death on the mushroom in her mouth.
This aroused the attention of the people around her, and she quickly took a sip of tea.
"What's weird?" he said calmly.
She didn't even know how to talk about it.
"Do we have to go in person?" she asked desperately.
"It's the weekend soon, and the bars will be very busy," Severus said, "especially the good bartenders."
She hesitated.
"Aren't you worried about my legs?" he said suddenly.
"What?"
"I was bitten by a three-headed hell dog. It seems fine now. Maybe I will be like Alastor Moody in the future." He looked at his bitten leg. "It must be amputated and then a prosthetic leg will be installed."
"Aren't you feeling well...do you feel pain again?" Pomona asked nervously.
"No." He frowned and touched his belly, "But I want to thank the restaurant where you bought the pie."
"Let's go!" she said immediately, "You all know that meat stuffing is smelly, why do you still want to swallow it?"
"Do you think Potter will learn to swear?" He suddenly said, "I remember Moody likes to curse..."
Pomona felt that now was not the time to discuss this topic, so she quickly paid the bill and left the cafeteria before he became "sick".
"Where to go next?" Pomona asked at the door of the restaurant.
"Hotel." He said still calmly.
In fact, Pomona thought she could go back to the Order of the Phoenix's safe house, which had a bathroom.
But then she thought about it, the people who went to that place were all acquaintances, no one would know them if they went to the hotel, and of course no one would know what happened inside.
"Okay." She agreed happily.
Then they disapparated.
When they appeared again, they were near Regent's Park, and there were many strangely dressed tourists around.
"If you want to go to Baker Street, go this way!" a tour guide shouted with a loudspeaker, and then a group of adults wearing deerstalker hats and children followed him.
Pomona noticed the map in their hands. Baker Street is in the southwest corner of Regent's Park, and the northeast corner of the park is the London Zoo. Before Harry went to Hogwarts, there was a giant python that caused a commotion there.
Ran out...
"What's wrong with you?" She noticed something unusual about Severus.
He clutched his stomach and remained silent. Pomona immediately became nervous and tried to help him into the hotel, but he broke free.
"what happened again?"
"Others will think I'm sick, or worse." He said seriously, "Then I should go to the hospital, not the hotel."
"Then what do you want?"
Then he put his arm around her shoulders, and the two walked into the hotel seemingly embracing each other.
When the uniformed waiter at the door opened the door for them, his eyes stayed on Pomona's face for a while. She felt that her face was burning, and she did not have the courage to look at him, so she lowered her head and walked into the lobby.
This is a very old hotel. Judging from the decoration, it may have been a gathering place for celebrities in the early 20th century, but now it is filled with tourists dressed in strange clothes.
They did not go to the crowded front desk, but walked directly into the elevator. Severus took out his wand from his sleeve and tapped the elevator button board with it. The elevator button for the fifth floor suddenly appeared.
Layer button. He pressed it without hesitation, and then stood next to her as if nothing happened.
"What's wrong?" He asked innocently, as if he didn't know what was happening.
She couldn't help but roll her eyes. It didn't take long for the elevator to reach the sixth floor. When the elevator door opened, the first thing she saw was a cocktail bar. Because it had just been open for the night, the waiter was cleaning.
"If you want to drink, please come early tonight!" the waiter who was sweeping cigarette butts from the floor said without raising his head.
"Where is your boss?" Severus asked calmly.
The waiter raised his head. After identifying it for a while, his eyes gradually widened. Then he looked frightened as if he had seen a ghost. He took a few steps back before stopping.
"Where is your boss?" Severus asked again.
"Ah!!!" the waiter exclaimed, and then ran away in a hurry.
Pomona didn't know why, but Severus walked behind the bar and took a cocktail glass like a regular customer.
"You know how to mix drinks?" Pomona said excitedly.
He remained silent, took out a piece of ice, used a silent spell to make it into a smoothie, squeezed a little lemon juice on top, and pushed it in front of Pomona.
"How old do you think I am?" she said in disbelief.
Then, as if to "pay homage" to her age, he added a little wine to the smoothie.
"This is what you want." He said diligently.
It's really cool to eat ice in summer, but she just had breakfast and she didn't want to have diarrhea.
"How do you know this place?" She asked as she had nothing to say.
He was silent for a while.
To be continued...
