Chapter 2696 Firebird Land IV(1/2)

Chapter 2698 The Land of Firebirds (6)

"If the basilisk is the natural enemy of the eight-eyed spider, then the rooster is the natural enemy of the basilisk. When it hears the rooster crow, it will...are you listening?"

Halfway through Pomona's words, she realized that the "audience" was not listening to what she was saying at all, and she frowned in anger.

Snape looked at the potion in the cauldron intently, as if it were a black hole that sucked away all his attention. He didn't care what happened in the entire universe.

She is trying to convince him that the basilisk is a kind of creature using the relationship between the food chain and natural enemies.

But seeing this, she had to give up her efforts and walked to the workbench to observe the pot of potion with him.

"Is fresh moon dew more effective?" She asked as if she had nothing to say, and received a glare from the old bat.

"Hey, I provided it..."

"If you have the ability, find me some Phoenix Tears." Before she could finish complaining, Snape said dryly and coldly.

The basic potions of the Water of Life and Death all have a purifying effect, such as African sea salt, and moon dew, which can be used as an antidote.

"How can I make a bird cry?" Pomona muttered.

Snape no longer stared at her with death, he stared at the cauldron intently, Pomona felt that its color was a bit distorted in the moonlight, and it was difficult to tell whether it was pink or peach.

"Fox is like an actor, he cries whenever he wants." She said out of boredom, "Fake tears also have therapeutic effects?"

"Tsk." He glared at her again impatiently.

"What else do you want me to do, Severus? Are you going to let me beat Fawkes to tears?"

He stopped warning her and continued to stir the potion. The technique he used was different from the one in the textbook, turning it counterclockwise seven times and then three times clockwise.

"The mysterious man could actually release the basilisk and let it defeat Lu Wei." Pomona plucked a freshly picked moondew flower, "but he chose the harp instead."

"What do you want to say?" he asked while stirring the potion.

"Is the mysterious man a dog owner?" Pomona asked, "Because he likes dogs, so he can't bear to hurt Lu Wei?"

He stopped stirring and looked at her in disbelief.

"Your potion," Pomona reminded.

Snape turned back and continued to look at the pot of potion, but he seemed to be unable to regain his previous concentration. He looked a little annoyed.

Pomona suppressed a laugh, and then Snape gently put down the glass rod.

"What do you want to do?"

She picked up the sloth brain that he had not had time to put away just now. "My poisonous tentacles need to be fertilized~"

The dragon dung fertilizer Pomona used was not "natural" dragon dung. She made many adjustments to the ingredients of the fertilizer. The fertilizer used for the poisonous tentacles required sloth brain, which happened to be Snape's improved water of life and death.

Materials required.

He gritted his teeth and looked at her, as if he wanted to pour some "venom" on her.

"I can't offer you Phoenix Tears, but do you want salt soda?" Pomona asked.

He worked hard and cleared the unfinished water on the table without answering Pomona's question, so she happily went to the preparation room of the greenhouse and took out two bottles of Muggle drinks given to her by the students.

As expected, Coke and soda are still needed in summer.

However, when she returned to the greenhouse and found the sound of a harp inside, Snape did not immediately start preparing the potion.

Listening to the elegant music of the harp, she slowly walked to the workbench, and then handed the salt soda in her hand to Severus.

He took the can of Muggle drink and opened it with his fingers instead of using a wand. He did this very skillfully, at least better than Arthur, who was said to be very interested in Muggles. He drank from the can for the first time.

Using the wand caused the drink inside to spray out, spraying all over the Burrow.

"What a pity, we don't have a refrigerator here." Pomona said, just about to open the can in his hand.

"Take it," Severus said, handing Pomona the salt soda in his hand.

She took it and found that it was cold, as if it had just been taken out of the refrigerator.

"Thank you." She said politely.

"We are wizards. Magic can allow us to obtain things that Muggle science cannot replicate." Severus said, taking another bottle of salt soda. Without seeing him reciting a spell, water started to appear on the surface of the can in the next moment.

fog.

"You mean the basilisk?" Pomona asked.

"No, I'm talking about the refrigerator." He said with a stiff face, opened the can and took a sip.

Pomona regretted it. She should have given the drink a shake.

She took a sip of salt soda. Although it was not as sweet as Coke, it was still delicious and had a light lemon flavor.

Magic is not a mysterious force that violates the laws of nature. It just allows those who can use it to use it in a way that Muggle science cannot replicate. Everything it can do must follow rules and laws.

For example, it is impossible for a refrigerator to pass Hogwarts' defensive magic, but salt soda can.

"Aren't you worried that the person who brought you the drink was poisoned?" he asked like a joke.

"What? Why?" Pomona asked curiously.

He was so depressed that he took a sip of salt soda.

"Crabbe and Goyle ate cake with sleeping pills."

Pomona was speechless for a moment.

Crabbe and Goyle encountered the "floating cake" in the corridor leading to the kitchen. They thought it was a new product with Billywig stings added. Their family was not well-off and had no money.

If you buy Honeydukes products, you can eat them openly when you get to school, but the school won't provide that kind of "unconventional" food.

"Thank you, there is no doubt that we administered the sleeping pills," Pomona said, because the incident occurred near the kitchen.

"You have no reason." Severus said calmly.

"Of course." Pomona sneered, "The whole Hufflepuff Academy is spreading rumors that Harry Potter is the heir of Slytherin. They are so scared, how can they help him?"

"That's not the reason." Severus looked at her.

Pomona looked at him in confusion.

Just as he was about to speak, a cat-shaped patron saint appeared in the greenhouse.

"I'll take her to the Ministry of Magic tomorrow, and you guys can help me keep an eye on Mr. Potter." The cat said in Minerva's voice.

"What to do?" Pomona asked.

However, the cat turned around and disappeared into the darkness.

"The great savior Potter and his friends will be reunited soon." Snape teased with a smile, "The healing effect of Phoenix tears is really good."

Pomona was thinking about another thing. Harry had been living in the Leaky Cauldron since he ran away from his "home" on Privet Drive. If he was fine, why would he go back to Petunia's house for the summer vacation?

"Are you going tomorrow?" Pomona asked.

He doesn't speak.

"If you don't go, I can do it alone," Pomona said.

"I'm going to buy some magic potion tomorrow." He said calmly.

She shrugged. She had thought that the great Potions Master would have to stay in the cellar all day again, but even if he went out to buy potions, it would be good to bask in the sun.

"Then go to bed early, we have to get up early tomorrow." Pomona said, getting ready to start cleaning the workbench.

Snape remained motionless.

She was so angry that she said, "Are you like this in your own classroom?"

"Wait until I finish drinking the salt soda." He said impatiently, "Same for you."

She looked at the soda she had taken a sip from and drank again in the spirit of not wasting food.

"The evening primrose is blooming." He said, looking not far away.

Pomona followed his gaze and saw a small cluster of evening primrose growing not in the flower field, but outside.

She couldn't think of anything clever to say and was so bored that she continued to drink salt soda.

"You know, Slughorn has an hourglass. When he encounters a topic he likes, the time in the hourglass will slow down." Severus said.

"I know it goes against the theory of relativity," Pomona said.

"Do you think time is moving faster or slower now?" Severus asked.

"Then you have to bring his hourglass before I know." She said stupidly.

He was thinking seriously.

She gently pulled on his robe, attracting his attention.

"You don't really want to take his hourglass, do you?" Pomona asked cautiously.

"No, I'm thinking about the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor next semester." Severus said expressionlessly, "I don't think he likes the moon."

After saying that, he took a sip of salt soda and let out a sigh of relief.

Pomona also took a sip of salt soda.
