Chapter 81 On the Highway

Author: Shenyou Buzhou Mountain

"This is the sixth one." In the quiet office, Andrew rubbed the photo and frowned.

The photo was taken in a dark underground place, and most of its content is blood stains, severed limbs, inconspicuous scratches and craters. On the back of the photo, there are also detailed location parameters.

The sewer was extremely dark, and if Olivia hadn't sensed the breath of the borer with her superhuman "spirit", these traces would have been difficult to detect.

Andrew took out a map of Seattle's sewers and marked the locations where these photos were taken with a red pen.

Soon, thirty-five red "X"s were drawn with the Schmidt Building as the center.

Like Olivia, Andrew immediately realized what was happening.

——The Schmidt family started killing people a long time ago. They killed all the homeless people living in the underground sewers of Seattle and turned it into their own secret kingdom!

He didn't know what the Schmidt family's purpose was, but it was definitely not a good thing.

Andrew put all the precious information Olivia gave him in an envelope, wrote his speculations on a piece of paper, and put them in together.

He put on his coat, sent Michael a text message, and hid the envelope inside his coat.

Outside the independent office, the team members were still working non-stop. Andrew said hello, then came to the garage and drove out.

The office of their investigation team was far away from the FSIA Seattle branch. It took about thirty minutes to drive, but he did not use the fax and planned to hand it over to Michael in person.

The traffic conditions in Seattle at night were not very good and a bit crowded, but Andrew was not anxious. Instead, he smoked a cigarette and hummed a song as usual, controlling the square plate with one hand, leisurely.

——He is trying to keep his behavior consistent with normal and avoid arousing any suspicion, especially the attention of the Schmidt family.

However, after the car passed a traffic light, the phone suddenly rang.

Andrew glanced at the number and clicked on the Bluetooth headset.

"Hello? What?"

"You guy..."

"Okay, okay, where are you?"

He said a few words and changed direction.

Not long after, the car stopped in front of a bar.

Smelling slightly of alcohol, Elroy got into the passenger seat.

"Ha...man, you still came to pick me up! Thank you very much."

"It's okay, just on your way."

"It's so late, do you still want to go back to the branch?"

"Well, routine report, what about you?"

"Because of this." Elroy opened his mouth wide and said "Ah..." like a child:

"The trackers in the molars need to be replaced, and of course this surgery must be performed at the FSIA branch."

"Can this thing be replaced?"

"Well, the equipment department has developed a new generation of micro trackers. Not only is it smaller in size and has a longer battery life, it can even measure health indexes such as heart rate and blood sugar. Oh, it also has a music playback function. It is full of humanitarian concerns.

"

"It sounds powerful, but it's of no use..."

The car started again and headed to the FSIA Seattle branch.

Andrew and Elroy chatted for a while. After the car left the city and entered the suburbs, the road became clear and remote.

"Elroy."

"ah?"

"You never mentioned anything about your childhood."

"Hey, captain, is it time to confess your feelings and communicate with each other? This is not a university dormitory now!" The handsome young man with blue-grey eyes folded his arms and shrank back with a smile:

"Don't be so disgusting!"

"You guy." Andrew shook his head and said with some hesitation:

"I have read reports on your personality. You are extremely conceited, and you will do whatever it takes to achieve your goals. You have no friends. You must have suffered a lot when you were a child, right?"

"It's all in the past, and the past experiences have shaped who I am now. Hey, I'm perfect now."

"You're so perfect that you have no friends, but after you stole the Mona Lisa, you just found an excuse and were put in jail on purpose?" Andrew said seriously:

"Elroy, actually you don't have to be a hedgehog, you..." The phone rang again, Andrew made an apologetic gesture, and then pressed the answer button.

"Well, it's me, what's wrong... hmm? Hmm..."

"..."

"..."

"Okay, I understand. When I get back, I want to have a double cheese cod burger for dinner tonight."

Andrew put down the phone.

The car continued to drive at a constant speed.

Neither of them spoke anymore.

Elroy's head was leaning against the car window, and the orange-red light of the streetlight flickered, hitting his blue-gray eyes, reflecting a fantasy-like color. There seemed to be no emotion in this color, and it seemed to contain hidden meanings.

Thousands of words.

In the end, it was Elroy who spoke first:

"Hey...double cheese cod burger, is this a special code word? You never told me."

"This is a little secret shared by the officers of our period... I have never mentioned to you that Honerson and I were in the same period."

"When you said that, my mood instantly improved a lot. It seems that at least in the team, you do regard me as a comrade. What does this sentence mean?"

"[Locate my position, support with force]"

"What did Honerson tell you?"

"Something about you." Blue veins popped up in Andrew's hand holding the steering wheel. The nearly forty-year-old former military king suppressed his anger:

"Honerson told me that you stayed on this stretch of road for twenty minutes yesterday. Of course, this was just a routine report. I just thought you went to the toilet here, but he also said to me, your

The tracking device was replaced the day before yesterday!”

"Can't the equipment department work hard and change one generation in three days?" Elroy was overjoyed.

"Elroy, why? Tell me the answer."

"Which do you want to know? Why did I know that you would pass this way with information? Or why did I want to kill you? Or, you want to ask, what led to my betrayal?"

It was deathly silent in the car.

Elroy shrugged nonchalantly and smiled:

"There's no point in asking any more questions. You're about to die, Andrew. Killing you is easier than killing a chicken... Maybe it's because you have served in the army for too long. You will always subconsciously trust your teammates and treat them as worthy of life and death."

Comrade who depends on each other, this is your fatal flaw. Human beings are such creatures. Being seen through means that they will be killed at any time. You..."

Bang!

Gunshots rang out, and Andrew held the gun with one hand, pointed it at Elroy's shoulder, and pulled the trigger.

However, the bullet lost its kinetic energy after penetrating the clothes and surface skin, and fell down powerlessly.

Andrew's face darkened.

"Hey...naive captain, I'm going to kill you, how could I not touch the firearm under your car seat?"

"Elroy, don't you want to live an upright life in the world as a human being? Do you have to be a...mad dog that wag its tail for profit?"

"Ha, that's an opportunity to become extraordinary! I'm willing to pay any price for this..." Elroy smiled a little ferociously:

"And there's no problem, I will win every time I bet, especially when I risk my life and fortune!"

Before he could finish his words, the car roared and flew out with huge force.

Ellroy pressed the bomb's activation button.

"You crazy dog!"

"Ha ha ha ha……"

Bang bang bang bang!

Gunshots continued.

Twenty-five minutes later, backup arrived, but no trace of Elroy was found.

Only a bombed and scrapped car and a charred body full of bullet holes were found under the hillside of the road.
