Chapter 2 Everyone is missing

The next day, Jiang Shan was still woken up by the huge bell. Jiang Shan saw that the clock on the wall showed that it was 9:30 in the morning. If she remembered correctly, their tour group had booked a flight at 12 noon.

It’s long past time to set off, but why didn’t Xiao Chen, a tour guide, come to remind Jiang Shan to get up?

Jiang Shan stood up suddenly, without even bothering to wash his face, and rushed to the hall with his messy hair. As a result, the hall was empty and no one could be seen.

Jiang Shan's heart went cold. She was worried that she might have been left behind, so she immediately took out her mobile phone to call the tour guide Xiao Chen. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a pink suitcase next to the cabinet at the front desk.

A female guest had stored it there yesterday for the convenience of catching a flight this morning. At this time, the box had not even moved.

Jiang Shan's action of dialing the phone stopped instantly, not only because the suitcase but also the signal bar on the cell phone display disappeared.

There is no network signal.

Jiang Shan, who slowly calmed down, already noticed that something was wrong around him. Not only the tourists, but not even a staff member at the front desk was there. Even if the tourists left, there should be staff, right?

But the entire hotel lobby was empty. Not only that, Jiang Shan recalled that when she rushed here just now, she didn't seem to meet anyone.

What happened? Where have everyone gone?

Jiang Shan stood blankly in the hall, his feet still wearing slippers.

After staying there for who knows how long, Jiang Shan remembered something. She immediately ran back to the guest room area and started knocking on the door one by one, "Is there anyone there?"

"anyone there?"

"anyone there?"

In the cave corridor, Jiang Shan's echo actually floated.

Jiang Shan turned the door handles one by one. These rooms were all empty. The bedding inside was neatly folded, and there was no sign that anyone had even slept.

When she finished knocking on the last room, she saw Xiao Chen's suitcase inside, as well as his tour guide certificate, passport, and other items that he had thrown on the bed.

It's as if everyone is still as if they just checked in yesterday, nothing has changed.

At one moment, Jiang Shan suspected that she was hallucinating because of the side effects of the medicine, or was it a dream that she didn't wake up from?

Jiang Shan came to the hotel restaurant. A sign at the door said: Dining time is 7 to 10 o'clock. Please present your room card to dine.

Jiang Shan walked in. In the large buffet restaurant, all the plates were empty, and there was only one table that seemed to have food on it.

Jiang Shan walked over and found that it turned out to be a rotten apple, with dark patches all around the edges, and it even seemed to be squirming...

Before Jiang Shan could feel sick, he saw a glass freezer next to him that said: Ice cream and dessert buffet.

But Jiang Shan saw that inside the glass cabinet, all the food had turned dark and ugly, and some were still leaking black water...

Jiang Shan was so frightened that he turned around and left the restaurant.

She rushed out of the hotel lobby and went outside. The entire cave hotel maintained its beautiful and weird appearance. The outer rock walls, which were said to have been formed for thousands of years, became a little mottled overnight.

Jiang Shan saw that the entire perimeter of the hotel, leading to the back mountain, was surrounded by a barbed wire fence that prohibited entry.

Jiang Shan walked along the barbed wire fence and saw with sharp eyes that a piece of wire was cut in a hidden corner.

The break in the barbed wire obviously looked new, so as expected it was done by Xiao Chen's group.

Through the break, Jiang Shan also saw a row of messy footprints leading to the mountain. In order to go up the mountain, this group of people not only destroyed the fence, but also ignored basic morals.

But Jiang Shan looked around and saw no footprints going down the mountain.

In other words, Xiao Chen and the others have not come down the mountain yet?

Jiang Shan was stunned.

She slowly raised her head and glanced at the mountain in front of her. It was lush and green, and it seemed so quiet that Jiang Shan couldn't even hear the chirping of birds, let alone the sound of human voices.

This feeling is really suffocating.

Jiang Shan returned to the empty hotel lobby and sat at the front desk. He didn't remember how long he had been in a daze. The clockwork clock on the wall had struck sharply many times.

In this hotel, all the old clockwork antique clocks are used, and there are almost no modern facilities. Even the check-in machines at the front desk are old-fashioned typewriters and manual account books.

During this period, she had already tried the dial-up phone and the intercom at the front desk, but there was no signal at all. Even if she wanted to leave here and take a taxi to the airport, she couldn't.

Jiang Shan's mobile phone has no signal.

It was getting dark again outside the hotel.

Jiang Shan forced herself to calm down and accept the reality. She was trapped in the hotel.

Everyone is really gone.

In this situation, other people may be very panicked.

Jiang Shan was also panicking, but she adjusted her breathing a few times and her face regained some color.

Because honestly speaking, of all things in the world, the worst-case scenario is death.

And Jiang Shan was almost dead.

Therefore, theoretically speaking, Jiang Shan has nothing to fear.

Jiang Shan looked at the darkened hotel lobby. Not only was the food in the freezer rotten, but all the electrical systems here seemed to have broken down. The place had turned into a real, lifeless primitive cave.

Jiang Shan tried hard not to panic. She hadn't eaten for a day. With her physical condition, there was no need for an accident to happen. She would have been exhausted just by starving here for a few days.

There seemed to be only one way left in front of her - going up the mountain. Trying to find the tour guide Xiao Chen and the group of tourists.

Since there are only footprints going up the mountain and no ones going down, it is very likely that they are indeed still on the mountain.

Although Jiang Shan didn't understand what happened, it didn't seem like a good thing.

But Jiang Shan had no other choice now. Looking at the gradually darkening sky outside, she stood up decisively and returned to her room.

Jiang Shan simply packed up his things.

All she owned was a backpack, which contained almost nothing except two sets of clothes and toiletries. Jiang Shan picked up the empty medicine bottle, looked at it for a while, thought about it, and stuffed it back into the compartment of the backpack.

She opened the bedside drawer and found a fire-fighting backup flashlight inside. After opening it, the bright light made Jiang Shan's heart move. It seemed that every room would be equipped with such a flashlight to prepare for unexpected situations.

Jiang Shan immediately searched for three flashlights from other rooms, and there were two bottles of spare mineral water in each room. Jiang Shan tasted the water and it seemed that it had not gone bad.

So Jiang Shan stuffed a bag full of mineral water and a flashlight and set off.

Now Jiang Shan didn't even have to hide from the staff. She walked directly through the corridor of the hotel and quickly went around the back of the mountain to the cut barbed wire fence.

"I didn't intentionally break the rules. I hope you can forgive me."

Jiang Shan stood in front of the mountain and exhaled.
