Staying Overnight

After my grandma returned to normal, her attitude towards me changed a lot. I am now her only relative in the world, and of course there is a younger brother who does not know whether he is alive or dead.

For the sake of my grandma's safety, I discussed with her and decided to let her continue to pretend to be crazy, while I went to look for my brother whom I had never met.

Before I left, my grandma said goodbye to me in tears. I left part of the money I received from those four people with my grandma, and gave some to San Pang, asking him to help me take good care of my grandma.

San Pang vaguely remembered that the Taoist priest had a big black mole on his face and six fingers on his left hand, and he was walking towards the south.

San Pang was still young at that time, so he doesn’t remember some details very clearly.

Following the guidance of the three fat men, I left the village and headed south.

I was eating scallion pancakes made by my grandma on the road. There were many homeless refugees along the way, and I thought: What is happening to this society now?

"Boom!"

The sky changes at every turn. The sky that was clear just a moment ago is now covered with dark clouds, thunder and lightning, and it rains every day.

"No, we have to find a place to take shelter from the rain quickly."

Looking at this deserted place, if I was caught in the rain, I would be drowned, so I quickened my pace and prepared to find a shelter from the rain.

After running for a long time, I finally saw a thatched house surrounded by walls made of tree branches.

Out of politeness, I shouted, "Is there anyone here?"

An old man's voice came from the room: "Who is it?"

Then an old lady walked out of it. This old lady was older than my grandma. The old lady was using a cane and her waist was so bent that she couldn't straighten up.

She stopped at the door of the thatched house and asked, "It's a girl! What can I do for you?"

At this time, my whole body was soaked by the rain, and I kept sneezing.

"Grandma, I'm on the road. It's raining too much and it's hard to walk. I'd like to stay with you for one night."

The old lady was kind-hearted and said with a smile: "Come in!"

I quickly thanked the old lady: "Thank you, grandma."

"It's okay! My son is not at home tonight, so just rest in my room!" The old lady was kind and kind.

"What about you?"

The old lady found some old clothes for me and asked me to change them to avoid catching a cold.

"I'll just rest in my son's room."

When the old lady said this, I didn't refuse. After running around for a day, I was exhausted physically and mentally.

When I came to the old lady's room, I found that the old lady had arranged it very regularly.

He lay on the bed and stretched out: "It's comfortable! It's better to lie on the bed!"

After a tiring day, I soon fell asleep. In my dream, I met my old hei and the old beggar. They were all smiling at me.

"Dang! Dang! Dang!"

There was an impatient knock on the door: "Mom, open the door quickly, I'm back!"

When the old lady heard her son's voice, she slowly got up from the bed.

"Didn't you say you were staying at Chen Dashan's house tonight and couldn't come back?"

The man drank a bowl of water and said with a heavy expression: "Mom, something happened!"

The old lady thought her son had caused some trouble outside, so she hit the man with her crutch and said, "What trouble did you get into again?"

The man became anxious, slammed the bowl on the table, and said, "How could I have caused trouble? I mean something strange happened to Chen Dashan's family."

While helping her son sort out his clothes, the old lady brought the food and asked, "Are there not many weird things happening in these years?"

The man looked like a frightened rabbit. A loud thunder outside made him tremble and the chopsticks in his hands dropped.

The old lady noticed something was wrong with her son and asked hurriedly: "Son, what's wrong?"

I saw the man suddenly raised his head and looked ahead, his eyes were bloodshot, and he smiled strangely at the corner of his mouth: "Red pink, blood moisturizes; red pink pink, blood moisturizes..."

The man kept repeating these words. When the old lady shook the man, the man's expression immediately became dull and he slowly turned his head to look at the old lady.

He said gloomily: "I'm going to kill you!"

The old lady was startled and cried: "Son, what's wrong with you?"

As the man spoke, he pushed the old lady to the ground and pinched her neck with both hands.

I had already woken up when the man knocked on the door. Maybe it was because the rain was too noisy and I couldn't sleep!

When I heard the sound of "ping ping ping pong" outside, I got up to see what was wrong.

I happened to see a man strangle the old lady's neck. The old lady was old and had no room to fight back against this young man.

I went up and kicked the man away. The man stood up, which really shocked me.

The man rushed directly towards me. I didn't have any weapons in my hand. All my belongings were in the old lady's room, so I could only keep dodging.

"Grandma, is this your son?"

I controlled the man with both hands and tried not to let him hurt the old lady.

The old lady had never seen such a scene before. She was dumbfounded at the time and cried: "It was fine when I went out this morning. Who knew that it would be like this not long after I came back?"

I looked at the man's behavior, as if he had been poisoned, and asked hurriedly: "What did he do after he came back?"

The old lady thought for a while and said, "I didn't do much, I just drank a bowl of water and ate a few bites of vegetables!"

I kicked the man away, quickly came to the table, picked up the bowl from which the man drank water, put it to my nose and smelled it, then looked at the food on the table.

There was a lighter smell at night. I smelled it carefully and realized it was mint. "Mint? Why does this bowl smell like mint?"

The old lady then said: "My son has been ill since he was a child and cannot drink normal water. He can only drink it by putting some mint leaves in the water."

I said "Oh", the old beggar once had a book of taboos on insects, which recorded hundreds of poisonous insects and their shortcomings.

"Mint, mint, why are you afraid of mint?"

I couldn't remember it for a while.
