Chapter 13 Knight
After Lannister left Winterfell, Stark's formation also dispersed.
"I have sent someone to prepare the room." Robb said a few polite words hesitantly, and it was easy to hear that this was written by him.
The fourteen-year-old Winterfell Lord still looks too young, although he is just a replacement for his father to take care of Winterfell.
His blue eyes and reddish-brown hair were inherited from his mother, which was very different from his father, but his illegitimate son Snow is more like a Stark.
It is precisely because Snow looks so much like Ed that he often stimulates Winterfell's mother Caitlin Tully.
Appearance seems to lead to fate. In the history of the Targaryen family, the crown princes who were not born with silver hair and purple eyes seemed to be difficult to ascend to the Iron Throne. Just as Prince Bell, who was admired by Cole the most, as the crown prince, he grew a Dornish face with his mother. If nothing unexpected happened, he could not ascend to the Iron Throne to rule the seven kingdoms.
Of course, this is just an alarmist statement made by a group of fate scholars who are idle and have nothing to do, but Robb seems to be unable to break free from the curse of such fate.
The personal charm of some people is that they can reveal historical books and biographies, which makes people admire them. Whether they are reading novels in their previous lives or opening history books in the Winterfell Library, Cole is deeply impressed by the charm of Prince Baylor.
It is Robb who has the same qualities that attract Cole's follower. The Starks' people are sometimes naive, but their qualities are definitely unique in the Seven Kingdoms.
"Master Stark." Cole suddenly called out to Robb who turned around and wanted to leave. He looked over in confusion. A young night watchman?
"Jon entrusted me to hand over a letter to you." He took out the letter written by Snow, and did not seal it with heraldic wax, but simply sealed it with some resin.
Robb took the letter and seemed to have no intention of opening it now, but just ordered his men to "receive the brothers of the Night Watch."
Cole couldn't figure out whether Snow's letter could be used as his letter of fame. He had never read what was written in it. After all, it was someone's letter. Maybe it was just a casual statement at the end, and he could only pray that our Lord Robb would not pass by like those who read novels.
The guest rooms in Winterfell are much more comfortable than farms and wilderness, at least for Cole now, it is an ultimate enjoyment. The quilt made of wool is so smoother than the broken leather mats that Cole slept on the Great Wall. Thinking of the more luxurious velvet silk, Cole couldn't help but yearn for it.
Later, when he became a lord, he drank wine every day like Tyrion, ate steak every meal, wore velvet silk clothes, and slept in a hotbed filled with feathers.
He patted his head, damn he came from the Great Heavenly Kingdom. He had never enjoyed air-conditioned hotpot, so how could he have such a rural gay idea?
Well, the environment changes people. People who can’t afford to eat don’t have the energy to think about the spring and snow.
He went to take his first bath in his life, and Winterfell, built on a hot spring, would not lack this little bathing water.
I heard that the main fort was built on a spring, and the walls were filled with hot springs, which made the main fort feel warm all the time. Cole and the others naturally would not live in the main fort, and there is a place dedicated to reception of guests in Winterfell.
In an open-air hot spring, Cole took off his clothes and soaked in. The water temperature was about 40 degrees. He raised his hand and rubbed it. In an instant, a pile of black mud was pulled out. A hint of redness emerged from his fair face.
My skin was red from top to bottom, and when I got up, I was red.
After washing his body, he didn't want to put the gray clothes on his body, but he could only pinch his nose and put it on.
When he returned to his guest house, Yulun happened to come out of the door. He asked, "I have arrived in Winterfell. What are you going to do next?"
In advance, everyone thought he was going to follow the little dwarf to the south. After all, the knight atmosphere over there was much stronger than that in the northern border. His knight dream was well known to everyone among the night watchmen.
Although Cole was determined to move closer to the wolf family, it had to be accepted by others. He could not lick his face and ask for it. He could not learn the flattery.
And you may not be humble, Stark will take you as a person. They seem to appreciate the tough guy, commonly known as "honor".
"I want to take a look in Winterfell first. After all, it is the first time I have seen such a big castle. Maybe after seeing enough of the northern border, I will go south. Grandpa Yimeng wants me to take a look in the Seven Kingdoms."
"Just have ideas." As an elder, Yulun, I thought, I still had to mention this young junior. "The Seven Kingdoms are not as safe as you think. Don't show off when you encounter danger. Those greedy guys only want the money you have on you."
He thought for a moment and continued to speak, "The Knight is not as simple as you think, child. Maybe you will be unhappy to say that, but identity has determined something. Not everyone can become the tall Sir Duncan."
The legendary Royal Guard, Duncan, was a knight who broke out from the flea nest in King's Landing City. It is rumored that he is more than two meters tall and is also called the Giant Knight.
Cole looked at the Winter Night in his hand. Although he was not that perverted, his strength should be qualified.
"The knight is not just a purpose, it is also a process, isn't it?"
Yulun smiled and thought to himself that young people are always full of enthusiasm. What's the point of living like old guys like them? You should drink the strongest wine and sleep with the most beautiful girl. This way, you can have the capital to show off when you are old.
Don't think of the knights too brightly. Most knights' situations are actually the same as those of the night watchmen. They are just a group of war hunters who want to live. They run wherever there is war. Their daily life is similar to what Yulun thinks, drinking and hiring prostitutes, spending all their money and sleeping, and pretending to be robbers when they have time.
The aristocrats played were different from the civilians. Their knight was Prince Baylor, Prince Emon, the dragon knight, the tall Sir Duncan, and the dawn sword Arthur Dane. It was shining brightly and passed away forever. Who would remember a so-called knight with a broken armor, a thin horse, a sword full of rust, and frozen to death on the King's Avenue?
The knight is indeed cool, but it is definitely unrealistic to let him travel around the nations like a ranger to follow the knight's way. He is not a middle-aged boy with a second-class disease. He admires those knights with noble character, but it does not mean that he has to learn that trick.
All he wanted was to board the ship of the nobles in this evil medieval era and live his drunken and dreamy lord life.
Winterfell will be the first stop to set the horn of his journey. Even in the end, it will not change the fate of Robb Stark. At least it will make a name for itself in the upcoming rebellion of the Five Kings. The troubled times will always allow him, the prophet, to seize the opportunity.
"Sir Stark, but we were invited to dinner, don't forget." Yuren reminded.
Cole was taking a break in the room and rubbed the steel sword "Winter Night". He felt that it seemed to be Valyrian Steel, but he was not sure. Grandpa Emon said that Valyrian Steel is not that easy to train.
After nightfall, some servants from the main castle called them, and it was Lord Robb who set up a dinner for him.
Cole came to the hall again with the three night watchmen brothers, but there was no big banquet. It seemed to be just a family dinner for the nobles, but for Cole and his men, it was a very luxurious scene.
Yuren was no longer surprised. Cole was indeed curious about the noble party, but he was soon disappointed, feeling that it was no different from the usual night watchmen gathering together for dinner.
Cole and his men were placed on the right side. In addition to the Stark family and the bachelor's, they were at their positions, which seemed to be of particular importance. Although the night watchman was not of a high status, as a guest, the Stark family still gave them enough respect.
Robb was eating the pork sausage on the plate, thinking about how to bring up some topics so that the dinner was not so silent. After all, he was the master's house, and no one dared to speak if Robb didn't speak.
"I've read Jon's letter." Finally he looked at Cole.
[To Robb: Stark, if you see this letter, then I have already gained a foothold in the Night Watcher, and soon I will become an honorary Ranger, and then become the commander-in-chief of the Night Watcher. You can learn needlework and thread with the girls, and I will protect you.
I'm glad the gods woke Bran up.
I can give Ricken what I can give, he should be very happy.
Cole is my best friend in the Nightwatcher, and I hope you can keep him in Winterfell. He must be a good assistant. You can let him protect you when I am away.
Jon]
