Chapter 38 God’s Instructions

When the giant rat man was killed, everything came to an end.

It was as if the rat men could feel the death of the giant rat man. After the huge figure fell, all the rat men were running away desperately.

And Hemei's cavalry began to work hard to chase and trample them, chasing and killing them as much as possible, causing more casualties to the rat men.

Ratmen are very fast when running, but unfortunately, they are still not as fast as war horses.

The war horses soon caught up with them, followed by ruthless killing and equally ruthless trampling.

The war horses trampled and the rat men trampled each other when they fled. The rat men suffered much more casualties when they fled than when they fought.

Facts have proven that the escape and pursuit phase of a battle is always when the greatest casualties occur.

At this moment, the sun finally came out. Under the sunlight, it was not as easy for the Rat Man to escape as before.

On the grassland, the cavalry chased them easily, as leisurely as if they were hunting rabbits.

Herme saw Katya engaged in such a leisurely hunt. Instead of slashing with a scimitar, she took out her riding bow and shot the rat men one by one as if they were in her own garden.

No ratman can escape Katya's arrows. Her arrows can always pierce the ratman's head accurately, causing the ugly monster to lose its life in such an instant.

Judging from her leisurely look, she looked like she was hunting in the forest near her home.

Her slender legs are even more flexible, and she can control a war horse just by relying on her legs.

Unfortunately, Herme brought too few cavalry, and the killing efficiency was too low.

But then, in front of the fleeing rat men, a group of soldiers wearing the falcon flag appeared.

Those were the infantry under Hermey's command. Jerry was commanding them. The guards of Fort Sazar formed the backbone of these infantry.

Their speed is much slower than that of the cavalry, so they are late in arriving now.

But they came at just the right time, because they happened to be stuck on the way the rat men were escaping.

The fleeing ratmen bumped head-on into the infantry. The infantry were also confused by the sudden appearance of the monster, but they soon figured out the situation, and then rushed forward to fight with howling.

Then they were like wolves pounced on the sheep, starting a crazy killing spree.

Herme did not continue to watch the killing. He walked towards the hillside covered with corpses. The guards followed Herme nervously, fearing that something would emerge from the pile of corpses.

However, their worries were unnecessary. There were no monsters lurking in the pile of corpses that were planning to attack the commander.

The ratmen there were all dead, so there was no way they could do anything.

Because the corpses were piled too densely, Herme kept stepping on the rat-man corpses. The soft feeling made him very uncomfortable, and he felt a sense of nausea in his heart for no reason.

But this emotion was quickly overcome by him. It was nothing more than walking on corpses, and the scenes he had seen during the conquest of the Scoia'tael.

After a while, he walked up to the defending defenders.

The defenders directly cleared a path between the corpse and the horse, making it easier for people to enter and exit.

This made Herme feel thankful. He didn't want to carry the corpse of the rat man to dig through the fortifications. He felt like vomiting just looking at it.

The faces of the Cossacks were full of friendliness, and they were obviously very happy about the arrival of friendly troops, not to mention that these friendly troops had just saved their lives.

Among the Cossacks, Herme saw the button-down coat belonging to the Shechi Cossacks, and their weapons were more and more professional. It seemed that his father-in-law had sent many elites here.

They had some conversation with Hemei, mainly thanking them for their help. Hemei responded naturally and appropriately, but his attention was not on these people.

At close range, Hermey could clearly see the warriors whose bodies were shrouded in blue robes and holding maces.

It's just that the black robe has now turned into a red robe, which was dyed red by the blood of the rat men. Some places have turned dark red, which looks quite scary.

These people have been silent, not saying a word, and there is no expression on their faces. It is impossible to tell what they are thinking.

This made Heme very concerned. The Cossacks obviously saw his doubts.

"This Ataman, don't blame them. They are ascetics from Cliff. They have all taken a vow of silence and cannot speak."

The Cossack who spoke did not know the identity of Heme, so he simply called him Ataman, which was the most correct thing anyway.

Cliff's Dervishes? That's really interesting.

Speaking of Cliff, Herme thought of the strength Cliff once displayed in front of him, which directly saved his life.

It's Cliff again, this is really interesting.

Herme sighed in her heart that she and Cliff seemed to be really "destined".

"I want to see Rusty."

After his thoughts returned to the present, Herme revealed the purpose of his visit. He was going to see Rasdit, and he wanted to learn about the situation from this man.

"After the battle, the high priest went up, and now he is up there. The high priest said that if the leader of the reinforcement team wants to see him, then please go directly, he will be waiting for you there."

When mentioning Rasit, these people spoke with respect and fear, as well as some fear that was not easily discovered.

The Cossacks got out of the way, and so did the ascetics.

Following the curved layout of the fortifications, Hemei went all the way up the hillside. The guards on the road all expressed a friendly attitude towards him, but Hemei had no intention of talking to these people. He just said hello briefly. His thoughts were all on

Meet Rastit.

On the top of the mountain, he saw Rasdit, covered in blood, kneeling towards the newborn sun.

Compared to the last time they met, Rasdit's bone helmet was gone, and Herme could see his face directly.

It was an unshaven face. It could be seen that he hadn't taken care of his face for a long time, and it was frighteningly dirty.

The hair was spread around the back of the head, and it exuded a strong smell, mixed with the smell of blood and rust. It had not been washed for God knows how long.

But his eyes were still bright, and it was impossible to tell that he had been fighting for so long. It felt like he could still howl and fight for hours.

"Ah, Heme, Heme, Heme from the west, Heme from Sazha Fort, you are here, I knew you would come, the great god told me, and it will guide you to come."

Just like in Herme's memory, Lustig was still very talkative and spoke in a rather annoying tone.

Hermey was not surprised at all by his words. He had already felt clear guidance when he rode his horse to this place.

There was no doubt that the spirit was guiding him here.

That's why he was so anxious to see Rusty, he had to know what Cliff wanted to do.

To be honest, being watched by gods makes Herme very uneasy. When it comes to these supernatural powers, even those that are friendly to her, Herme cannot feel at ease.

There is a saying that dancing with wolves is crazy enough, but what about with gods? That is simply playing with fire.

"Yes, I'm here, so why is Cliff doing all this?"

Hemei expressed his doubts straightforwardly. His words were very simple and direct, and he went directly to the center of the topic.

He also placed the blackened divine emblem in front of the priest to make it clear what he was talking about.

He wanted to know what all this was for.

"According to the will of the great god that I interpreted from the thunder, evil wants to wake up. The great god doesn't like evil, so it needs someone to fight evil and defeat the ugly evil force, so he has taken a fancy to a special soul. In the opinion of the great god,

, he has the potential to destroy evil and can solve their conspiracy."

When the priest said these words, his eyes turned white and looked very strange.

Hermey was a little frightened by these words, because according to this meaning, Cliff might know something...

However, it seems that it does not have any ill intentions because it knows this, but it intends to give him some responsibility for this.

"So the evil that Cliff wants to defeat is the ratman here?"

Subconsciously, Herme thought that the evil that Cliff wanted to defeat was the Rat Man. After all, Cliff had always been the vanguard against monsters.

"Rat? Are these things worthy? Are these guys who can only crawl in the gutter worthy?"

The disgust in Rusty's tone was almost overflowing, and it was also mixed with hatred and disdain.

"A mouse is nothing more than a pawn, just a small chess piece. It is not an evil to be truly fought against at all, and it cannot be considered a big evil."

"So what exactly is evil?"

Herme asked next, and Rasit was silent for a while before he spoke.

"He is a believer in Niya, but the specific details, the Great God did not say, did not tell me."

Hemei was really upset.

Damn it, I talked here for a long time, but when I asked what evil is, I got the same answer.

You said there are Niya believers. There are so many Niya believers. How can I know which one they are? You told me where they are.

And this tone of half-talk is really familiar...

"Can the great god give me any strength?"

Suppressing her inner depression, Hemei asked about something more realistic.

He understood clearly that Cliff wanted him to defeat the so-called "evil", those followers of Niya, Lilit.

That being the case, you should give some strength no matter what. If you don’t give strength, how can you fight against evil?
