Chapter 66

Jiang Lan got out of the car and followed Pei Qingsheng to the living room.

Lu Wanrou stood at the door. When she saw Pei Qingsheng coming back, she immediately stepped forward and took his arm, "Why have you been gone so long?"

Pei Qing said: "There is a traffic jam on the road."

Lu Wanrou glanced at Jiang Lan behind him. If it weren't for Mrs. Lu, she wouldn't want Pei Qingsheng to pick up Jiang Lan.

This damn mute, even though he couldn't speak, his little eyes were so seductive that Lu Wanrou wanted to dig them out every time he looked at her!

"Go in, mom is waiting inside."

Lu Wanrou led Pei Qingsheng inside, walked a few steps and then looked back at Jiang Lan, "Sister-in-law, why are you still standing there? Come in!"

It was raining lightly, and Jiang Lan's hair was covered with fine droplets of water.

She came to the living room, where Mrs. Lu held her precious grandson and kindly coaxed him to sleep.

Jiang Lan stood next to Mrs. Lu, looking at the baby in her arms. It was plump and white, and it grinned at Jiang Lan with its small mouth.

Jiang Lan looked a little dazed. This was the first time she had seen the baby up close. She turned out to be so cute.

She subconsciously brushed her belly with her fingers, wondering if her baby was as cute as this?

The baby stretched out his hand and seemed to want to pull Jiang Lan.

Jiang Lan looked at the chubby little hand, and by accident, she also extended her hand. Unfortunately, before she could touch it, Lu Wanrou stepped forward and pushed her away.

"Sister-in-law, you haven't washed your hands yet, have you? Don't spread the bacteria to Jiajia."

Although Lu Wanrou was smiling, her attack was not gentle at all. Jiang Lan staggered two steps due to her push and almost sat on the ground.

Jiang Lan grabbed the sofa to steady herself.

Mrs. Lu handed the baby to Lu Wanrou, then stood up and looked at Jiang Lan, her face no longer showing kindness.

Her eyes were like knives, scanning back and forth over Jiang Lan's body, and finally landed on Jiang Lan's lower abdomen.

"Mom He."

Mother He, who had been waiting for a long time, immediately came up with two servants and said tactfully to Jiang Lan: "My eldest mistress, Madam wants to give you a check-up, please come with us."

Jiang Lan suddenly raised his head and met Mrs. Lu's indifferent eyes.

She opened her mouth, fear and consternation appeared in her eyes, and Jiang Lan subconsciously took a step back.

Jiang Lan's heart also sank.

Sure enough, God still wasn't on her side.

Mrs. Lu sneered: "Why, do you think I won't know if you hide it from us?"

"I told you a long time ago not to have wishful thinking, but you didn't listen. Since you are asking for trouble, you can't blame us!"

Jiang Lan shook her head. She gestured helplessly. Mrs. Lu directly looked away and said, "Mom He, take her down."

Two servants immediately stepped forward, grabbed Jiang Lan's arms, and dragged her out the door.

Jiang Lan held on to the doorframe tightly and looked inside the room. Mrs. Lu had already hugged her grandson again.

The corner of Lu Wanrou's mouth curled into a gloating sneer, just like every time she succeeded in a prank.

Pei Qing stared at her calmly, her expression not changing at all.

These indifferent faces were so ferocious and terrifying that even if Mrs. Lu was holding a baby in her hands, she could not arouse any compassion in her.

What's in her belly is also a life.

Wu Ma released her hand holding the door frame and pulled her down.

The villa was still quiet, as if Jiang Lan had never been here. The only sudden change was that the child in Mrs. Lu's arms started crying.

The loud cry echoed throughout the villa hall.

The patter of rain hit Jiang Lan's face, and the cries seemed far away, yet closer, and each sound tore into Jiang Lan's heart.
