Chapter 783

The doctor said: "About two hours."

Lu Jingchi nodded and led Jiang Lan back to the ward. The ward was quiet. Even with Lu Jingchi by his side, Jiang Lan felt too lonely.

She hates this place.

Jiang Lan returned to bed, lay on the bed, touched the mirror under the pillow, and looked at it for a while.

It started to rain again outside. When Jiang Lan heard the patter of rain outside the window, she wrapped herself in the quilt tighter.

Lu Jingchi sat next to her and looked at her with an unpredictable expression.

After a while, thunder started to thunder outside. The thunder was deafening. Jiang Lan clutched the quilt, trembling all over.

If she is at home, she can go to her parents' room with her pillow in her arms and hide in her mother's warm arms, and she won't be afraid anymore.

Lu Jingchi raised his hand and put it on Jiang Lan's shoulder, pulling down her quilt.

Only then did he see Jiang Lan's posture clearly. She was curled up in a ball and kneeling on the bed, covering her ears with her hands and burying her face in the pillow.

"Jiang Lan."

Jiang Lan couldn't hear his voice, only the thunder outside.

She covered her ears desperately, but she still couldn't resist the all-pervasive thunder.

The man grabbed her shoulders and turned her face over, with tears covering her face.

Jiang Lan saw him and immediately threw herself into his arms, wrapping her hands tightly around the man's waist.

Lu Jingchi stroked her back gently, "Don't be afraid, it's just thunder."

Jiang Lan pressed her cheek against his chest, and her tears wet the clothes on Lu Jingchi's chest.

Lu Jingchi also held her in his arms and rubbed her hair with his fingers, as if to comfort her.

The thunder continued for nearly half an hour before gradually becoming quieter, but Jiang Lan still held him and refused to let go.

In this environment, Lu Jingchi in front of her was her life-saving straw, and she could only hold on tightly.

She vaguely heard his heartbeat and thought of her parents again.

"I miss mom."

Her choked murmur came from her arms, her voice was very small and sounded like she was crying.

Lu Jingchi paused for a moment. This time he didn't speak. He just held her and looked at the window.

The windows reflected the reflections of the two people. Lightning flashed across the two people, and the pale light shattered the reflections.

Jiang Lan said to herself, "I miss Dad."

"Why don't you come see me."

"I feel so much pain."

Lu Jingchi lowered his eyes slightly and glanced at the little face in his arms, "Where does it hurt?"

"My body hurts."

Lu Jingchi sighed silently and hugged her tighter, "Go to sleep."

Jiang Lan stared at his arm, her eyelashes trembling, and she silently shed tears, which dyed his black shirt a darker color.

The rain was still falling outside, and the muffled thunder fell from the clouds. It was indistinct but extremely depressing.

The doctor came in with the examination results. He stood at the door and did not come in. He just waved to Lu Jingchi and motioned for Lu Jingchi to go out and talk.

Lu Jingchi lowered his head and glanced at the person in his arms. She had fallen asleep, but her brows were still furrowed tightly, with tears hanging on her eyelashes. The incandescent lamp illuminated her pale cheeks, like a doll that could be broken at any time.

He gently put Jiang Lan on the bed, covered her with a quilt, got up and walked with the hospital to the door.

After closing the door, Lu Jingchi asked, "How is it?"
