Chapter 12 Activating the New Falcon

 Oak Mansion, early morning

As the sun rises, the whole city seems to come alive.

The curtains were drawn in the safe house where the fire broke out before, and sunlight shone in through the gaps. The blood stains on the wall were still there, but they had turned dark red.

The door of the safe house was sealed, and the room was eerily quiet.

But the silence was soon broken.

A rustling sound appeared. Listening to the sound, it was located in the secret room where the weapons were stored.

The weapons in the secret room have long been taken away, leaving only the lonely shelves.

However, at one foot of the shelf, the board suddenly became loose and fell off, and then Jack got out of it.

It turned out that Jack did not leave after killing those people, but hid in the mezzanine of the secret room.

This is the legendary darkness under the lamp.

No one would have thought that Jack would dare to stay where he was after making such a big noise, let alone that there would be a mezzanine in the secret room.

A few minutes later, Jack appeared downstairs with a backpack on his back. He first hid in the dark and observed for a while, then walked out of the corridor and blended into the crowd.

……

Russian Federal Security Service

In a certain office, the phone in front of Olof rang.

"In the list sent back by 'Cicada', there is a lurker named Sergei Lazarev who moved yesterday, and our people are currently following him."

A voice on the phone said.

"Report any situation at any time."

After speaking, Olof put down the phone.

He is a veteran intelligence officer and has been a member of the KGB since the Soviet Union. In 1991, the behemoth of the Red Soviet Union collapsed, and the newly emerging Russia inherited its mantle.

Orlov naturally became a member of the new Russian intelligence agency.

As for "Cicada", it was a product of the KA program during the Cold War.

At that time Orlov was the person in charge of the KA program, and the so-called KA program was to select a group of outstanding Soviet children and train them from an early age.

These children have excellent physical fitness and flexible minds. They have all been baptized by ideology and have firm beliefs.

Before reaching adulthood, these children were returned to the United States and adopted under various disguises.

Later, as they grow up, their personal excellence can ensure that they can successfully enter various powerful agencies in the United States as adults, become leaders in the industry, and lurk.

And these lurking agents are "cicadas".

Usually a "cicada" may lie dormant for several years or even more than ten years before being activated for a certain task.

The list in Orlov's hand is the precious information that a "cicada" exchanged with his life.

I'm afraid the U.S. government still doesn't know that part of their list of potential lurkers has been leaked.

Ding Ling Ling~~~

Olof, who was thinking, was awakened again by the ringing of the phone.

When he saw the caller's number, Olof's face became solemn, he cleared his throat and picked up the receiver.

"Your Excellency General, I am Olof."

"What happened yesterday?"

The caller was the current director of Russia’s Federal Security Service, General Belia Pavlovich.

The director didn't need to say it explicitly, Orlov knew he was referring to the shootout at the safe house.

"The gun battle occurred at a safe house in Moscow owned by the hostile forces. The agents on the arrest mission exchanged fire with the arrest target..."

"You are also an old man from the Soviet era. When have you ever seen a mouse dare to walk in a cat's house? Remember, this is Moscow..."

"I understand, General, I will take care of this matter."

After hanging up the phone, Olof knew he had to take action.

Russia needs to show its strength. Moscow is not a place outside the law, and it is not a place where people can come and leave whenever they want.

That night, the door of the Federal Security Service opened, and a convoy of several special vehicles sped out. Many CIA lurkers in Moscow were arrested, and the news alarmed the intelligence communities of various countries.

……

At the airport, there was an inconspicuous Ladari on the roadside, and two intelligence officers were using binoculars to observe the taxi pick-up point not far away.

In the telescope, "Pope" Lazarev got into a taxi, and Rada immediately followed him.

At the train station, the taxi pulled over and Rada also parked nearby. Lazarev got out of the car, and a follower also got out of the car and followed Lazarev into the luggage storage hall.

"The target obtained a travel bag from a temporary safe and headed to the parking lot."

A notification from the tracker came through the headset.

"The target got into an Audi with the license plate number..."

"Car No. 1 won't move, Car No. 2 will keep up."

The commander of the tracking team decisively issued an order, and the Lada stayed put while the other Toyota slowly started to move behind the Audi.

Odiri, Lazarev looked at the motionless Lada in the rearview mirror and dismissed his doubts.

He probably never imagined that he would be targeted by the FSB from the moment he left St. Petersburg, and that it would be a professional tracking team consisting of three vehicles.

Crossroads, traffic lights

At red lights, cars turning left and going straight are all waiting for the light to change.

Lazarev reduced his speed and lined up behind the straight road.

The light changed, and the vehicles were allowed to go straight and turn left at the same time. The vehicles started one after another, and Zalalev followed behind. When it was his turn to pass the intersection, he suddenly turned the steering wheel and turned left.

The horns at the back sounded one after another, some people cursed loudly, and some raised their horns to stop. Zalalev just looked in the rearview mirror silently.

This was undoubtedly a test, but no car suddenly changed lanes like his. Zalalev finally confirmed that no one was following him and accelerated towards his destination.

Behind Zalalev, separated by several cars, a blue Kia followed silently. The person in the car had a slight smile on his lips.

The other party also underestimates FSB.

For this situation just now, their tracking team had already prepared a plan.

There were their people not only on the straight road, but also on the left turn road. There were even vehicles in front of him. Even if Lazarev ran a red light, he still couldn't escape them.

……

In the office, Albert listened to Conklin's report on the phone.

"Pamela Landy's whereabouts have not yet been determined. The new Falcon has arrived in Moscow. We are confirming the situation of the Woodpecker and will never let him fall into the hands of the Russians..."

"Where's the liaison?"

"Nikki Stiles is still lurking."

"What I mean is that we can also clean her up if necessary. I think her heart is probably full of resentment towards us at the moment."

"I understand." Conklin knew that Albert was talking about sending Nikki to the safe house to confirm. This was almost a clear statement to Nikki that we were ready to give up on you.

It's impossible that Nikki doesn't have any ideas in her mind. She just doesn't dare to show it because of "Stumbling Block"'s usual behavior style. But who can guarantee that she won't do something in the future...

"What has Bourne been doing lately?"

"On vacation."

"What's his record?"

"Performed 7 missions, all rated A."

"Where are the others?"

"The tallest ones besides him are the 'Pope' and 'Woodpecker' sent this time. Both have 5 missions, four A's and one B."

"Activate Bourne, we need him."

After Albert finished speaking, he hung up the phone. Conklin understood what he meant. Bourne, as the last insurance, could kill everyone if necessary.

‘Woodpecker’’s behavior this time was a little weird. Although it was due to the FSB, it was hard to guarantee that it wasn’t because he knew something.
