Chapter 7 The FSB Hunt

In the dark pipe well, Jack closed his eyes and listened to the sound of footsteps running past outside, gradually disappearing.

Just now, he was just creating an illusion by destroying the cameras all the way, just to make the other party think that he was still on the fifth floor, while Jack himself secretly returned to the sixth floor and hid in the pipe well.

Those guys who were outflanking from the seventh floor probably never imagined that they had just passed by Jack.

Jack returned to the 7th floor, his brain working rapidly, thinking about all possible ways to leave, only to find that both elevators were moving upward.

You must buy time for yourself.

Jack looked around and then saw the fire alarm on the wall. He decisively smashed the protective cover and pressed the fire alarm button.

In an instant, the alarm bell rang loudly in the corridor, and a sharp whistle sounded throughout the hotel. Room doors opened one after another, and people walked out of the room in confusion.

Although they could not figure out the situation, many people began to go downstairs along the fire stairs, and the whole hotel became a mess.

However, the elevators that were originally going up stopped at the nearest floor due to safety design, and no matter how hard the black suit inside was pressed, they could not be started again.

A large number of people suddenly poured into the fire staircase. The two teams in black suits who were originally searching for people hid their weapons and were even carried by the crowd to move downstairs.

How to check this?

Taking advantage of the chaos, Jack moved quickly along the corridor.

A door next to him suddenly opened, and a woman who had obviously just taken a shower rushed out in panic, wearing a bathrobe and running out.

Obviously the other party also heard the fire alarm.

Jack let her go, stretched out his hand to block the door that was about to close, and ducked into the house.

After closing the door, he dragged a chair over and stuck it on the door handle.

Take two quick steps and open the French door leading to the balcony.

Standing on the edge of the open-air balcony, overlooking the hotel, the people below the hotel rushed out from the main entrance like ants, and a few black spots were nailed there like nails, searching for something in the crowd.

Jack no longer cares about what's below, jumps onto the balcony fence, and gropes his way up. Since going down doesn't work, he goes up and leaves from the roof.

At this time, below the hotel, no one noticed that someone was doing unprotected rock climbing on the balcony on the top floor.

On the wall, Jack exerted his strength on his waist and legs, and used all the places where he could borrow strength. He flipped over and climbed onto the terrace of the 10th floor. Then he followed the same pattern, to the 11th floor, 12th floor...

The night wind blew by, and Jack's body hanging in mid-air swayed from side to side...

……

In the control room, Orlov looked at the screen full of pictures. The corridors were full of people fleeing in panic, and the fire stairs were filled with people.

At this moment, the intercom sounded the report from his subordinates.

"Sir, the target person ran away. She planted a bomb in the house, but we didn't find the person."

"Waste, a bunch of waste."

Olof was furious.

In the hotel's underground parking lot, a vent fence in the corner shook for a while. After a moment, the fence was removed and a woman got out of it.

Pamela Landi looked around, then quickly walked to a parking space in the corner.

The car in the parking space was covered with a car jacket. Pamela pulled off the car jacket and it turned out to be a police car.

After a while, a police car drove out of the basement, and Pamela in the car also changed into the costume of a female police officer.

Outside the hotel, there were crowds of people running out everywhere. People in black suits were searching the crowd, and police officers were outside to maintain order.

The appearance of the police car did not attract anyone's attention. Pamela slowly drove the police car to the exit. The policemen nearby were temporarily seconded from nearby and did not know each other. The policemen at the exit just looked at each other.

She waved her hand and let him go.

……

"She must still be around."

Olof knew that this scene must have been caused by Pamela just to fish in troubled waters.

But what will she do?

Orlov tried to put himself into the opponent's role and put himself in his shoes, but suddenly he saw a retrograde figure in a picture.

Everyone was running towards the fire stairs, but this person was walking in the opposite direction from the crowd. There must be something wrong.

The figure disappeared in a flash, but Orlov was very sure that this was definitely the guy who attacked his men. Although he was not Pamela, he must be related to her.

The other party must know Pamela's whereabouts and must catch him.

"Corridor on the 9th floor, he is in the corridor on the 9th floor..."

Orlov shouted, but his men were all being held hostage by the crowd in the fire escape. They couldn't get through for a while, so Orlov simply took his men and rushed there.

The control room is on the top floor of the hotel, only three floors away from the 9th floor.

When he arrived, his men also arrived.

There was no one in the corridor, and the ground was in a mess. The luggage rack fell crookedly on the ground, and the luggage on it was scattered all over the floor. No need to guess, these were all caused by the chaos just now.

Olof crossed the barrier on the ground and looked around the corridor.

The crowd left in a hurry. Some of the doors were ajar, while others were closed. The men searched each room one by one, and opened the ones that were closed. They were all equipped with butler cards.

Then they encountered a door that could not be opened even if the electronic lock was opened.

The men came up from the fire escapes on both sides and found no suspicious characters, so the other party must still be on this floor.

Olof had a hunch that the answer lay in the room with the closed door.

"Break the door~"

With an order, the men in black suits began to violently break down the door. The door was quickly opened, and then they saw the curtains blown by the night wind.

The floor-to-ceiling windows of the balcony were wide open. Olof and the others chased them to the balcony, and happened to see the footprints on the railings.

Looking up, Jack has just jumped off the terrace on the 12th floor and is about to reach the roof.

Bang bang~~

Someone immediately opened fire, but was immediately stopped by Orlov.

"To live."

……

Hotel rooftop

Jack weakly held on to the wall, and the pain in his palm told him that he had just been shot.

Damn it, the bullet the other party just shot hit his left abdomen by chance.

This is the first time he has been injured since traveling through time. Damn it, does he want his marksmanship to be so good?

Jack persisted, discerned the direction, and walked with difficulty toward the north side of the roof.

During the terrain survey yesterday, he discovered that the roof on the north side was under construction, so there must be escape tools there.

Holding back his injuries, Jack walked quickly, and behind him, a trail of blood appeared on the ground.

Finally arrived at the north side. Fortunately, his guess was correct.

The roof on the north side is being renovated, and there are a lot of building materials piled up. There is a long nylon rope inside, and there is a bucket tied to the end of the rope. This should be a tool for workers to transport materials from the ground to the roof.

The other end of the rope was tied to a beam. Jack tried it and it was very strong.

Wrapping the rope around his arm several times to increase friction, Jack slid down the wall.

……

The main entrance of the Imperial Palace Hotel was brightly lit, and the fire trucks that had just arrived flashed their lights. Firefighters carrying oxygen tanks on their backs ran into the building one after another. The crowd of onlookers seemed to be still in shock, and they were shouting.

In contrast to the lights at the main entrance, the streets on the north side look particularly dilapidated.

There is only one streetlight on a short street, and there is only one bulb left, and the light is dim.

In a dark corner, a homeless man shivered and tightened his sleeping bag.
