Chapter 116: Class 77 graduated [Tonight 19…

In the early 1980s, China was in the midst of a recovery, and there was a shortage of talent in all walks of life, and there was an urgent need for talent.

When the 77-level college students entered their junior year, the competent authorities solicited students' opinions in some local universities: Are they willing to graduate early?

As long as you study for three or three and a half years, you can arrange a job in advance according to the treatment of formal undergraduate graduates.

At the beginning, it was true that many college students from rural areas and from poor families graduated early and entered the workforce.

Therefore, from the summer of 1980 to the spring of 1982, the 270,000 college students admitted in 1977 began to leave the school one after another.

They became the first batch of outstanding talents selected and trained after China's reform and opening up, and promptly injected a group of new forces into the talent-hungry Chinese society.

The countdown to the official graduation allocation for Class 77 college students who had completed four years of study finally began in November 1981.

January 24, 1982, coincided with the New Year's Eve of the Year of Xinyou and the winter vacation.

Therefore, the graduation ceremony, dispatching and distribution of Class 77 students must be completed before January 24, 1982.

From November 1981, when each department announced the list of graduate allocation groups, to the distribution of work dispatch certificates, the graduation allocation process lasted two full months.

Most colleges and universities will distribute dispatch certificates to graduates before January 18, 1982, and they can leave school on the same day.

January 18, 1982, happened to be the twenty-fourth day of the twelfth lunar month in the Xinyou year, one day after the Little New Year, two days before the Great Cold, and six days before the New Year's Eve in the Xinyou year.

What is interesting is that the period from the enrollment in the Great Cold of Dingsi year to the graduation of the Great Cold of Xinyou year. The beginning of the Great Cold and the end of the Great Cold symbolize the psychological journey of the 77-level college students to overcome chaos to survive and embrace reform.

This is also a unique coincidence record created by the Class of ’77 in the history of higher education in China, which is very different from previous classmates.

As the first batch of graduates awarded bachelor's degrees after Yanjing University resumed college entrance examination enrollment, the graduation ceremony was held grandly at the Great Hall of the People in Yanjing.

The most outstanding thing about YSU students has always been their strong sense of mission.

At the graduation conference, the slogan "Dedicate your youth and talents to the socialist modernization of our great motherland." pushed the conference to a climax.

"Students of Yanda are the proud ones of heaven. They are the strongest among their peers in the past, present and future. They should fully develop the altruistic side of human nature."

"Considering the pain and joy of the weak as one's own pain and pleasure, and having the world in mind, this is the unique sentiment of YSU students."

"When growing up, YSU students are blessed with resources from their families and society. Therefore, they have an obligation to repay society. This is the responsibility that YSU students should fulfill."

"Contributing to the happiness of the people, the development of the country, and human civilization is the lofty mission of YSU students."

"At any important turning point in China's history, YSU students have always taken the lead and made commendable contributions. Now, the society is looking forward to us, the country's future and destiny need us, and we should not look back."

...

At the graduation ceremony, Liu Yan thought to himself that Yanda graduates have strong human capital and unparalleled competitiveness. I believe everyone can do well.

However, if you only care about yourself, do not think about society, and have no sense of responsibility, then there will be no hope for this society.

Since ancient times, Chinese people have believed in "don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you." Should we believe more "do to others what you want to do to others"?

We should take both into consideration! Not only do we not harm others, but we also take the initiative to help others.

We should bear in mind our social responsibilities, care about social justice and the suffering of the people, care about the country's economic development, and care about major domestic and foreign events. Only in this way can our lives open a new page.

It is undeniable that everyone in this world has selfish motives.

But as long as people start from an altruistic perspective and purpose, they will also reach unexpected self-interested ends.

As long as a person is compassionate and altruistic, the happiness of others will be included in his own happiness index, which will make him feel happier.

It is undeniable that everyone at Level 77 is a lucky person of this era.

During this historical process, every opportunity for China has also created their own personal opportunities. But they should not become people who only care about immediate opportunities and personal interests.

Any great achievement should come from a sense of mission that puts aside self-interest.

After four years in college, there are still different opinions among classmates.

It was not until the promulgation of the "Minutes of the National Rural Work Conference" that we had a clearer understanding of the view that "various production responsibility systems such as household-based production responsibility are all production responsibility systems of the socialist collective economy."

At the time of graduation, most people gradually became a consensus that "economic development is the key", and "economics" became the "prominent science" in China in the following decades.

In fact, for those who did not go to college in 1977, China's reform and opening up brought many opportunities to everyone.

Later, under the leadership of brothers Fan Jianguo and Fan Jianming, the former Yuanping Bamboo Factory became the first Sino-foreign joint venture in Yongfeng County. Its products were exported to all parts of Southeast Asia, and it became a famous international group enterprise in Jiangning Province.

Niu Er went from being a speculator to an outstanding private entrepreneur in Huaining City.

All confirmed Liu Yan's inner feelings at this moment.

This is a story for later.

"The college career of the Class of 1977 progressed simultaneously with China's reform and opening up. Every attempt of the country was within the sight and experience of college students.

Our thoughts and feelings about reform and opening up should become one of the motivations for us to have a sense of mission."

At Yanda’s graduates’ meeting, everyone’s loud words and determination resounded throughout the Great Hall of the People.
