Chapter 25: Willing to set foot on hell with him

Maybe it was because he "tasted glutinous rice balls" that day that he left a deep impression on her. As soon as breakfast was mentioned, she wanted to eat glutinous rice balls.

Wen Qizhou chuckled: "Okay."

He lay with Chi Yue in his arms for more than half an hour, then got up and went to the kitchen, cooked two bowls of round glutinous rice balls and brought them to the bedroom.

The black sesame seeds in the glutinous rice balls are always very sweet. You can eat a few occasionally without feeling tired, but once you eat too much, you will start to snore.

He cooked less, only six pieces per bowl.

It was just right for Chi Yue, but maybe not enough for him. She raised her head and asked, "Are you full?"

"not yet."

"Can I get you another sandwich?"

Wen Qizhou: "No need." He leaned over and covered those bright red lips, murmuring in a low voice: "I'll be full if I taste more."

The fragrance of cypress wraps Chi Yue.

She tilted her head back, her slender eyelashes as long as butterfly wings trembled twice, and accepted his gentle and possessive kiss.

The hot breath sprayed out, reddening her cheeks, bringing with it a tingling sensation that spread into her pounding heart.

When he tasted the sweetness he wanted, she held a piece of his clothes and buried it in the crook of his neck to calm his disordered breathing.

He muttered: "You are so annoying."

"What's wrong with me?" Wen Qizhou lowered his eyes and looked at the top of her hair that showed a hint of embarrassment.

As if aware of his gaze, she quickly raised her head and glanced at him: "I almost couldn't breathe just now."

"Then I'll teach you how to breathe?"

"No." She didn't give him a chance.

Chi Yue bit his collarbone, leaving two rows of shallow tooth marks, and pushed his shoulder away: "Hurry up and wash the dishes."

Seeing the glutinous rice balls turning into red fruits, and hearing that Qizhou was thinking about teaching her, he took away the two sets of bowls and chopsticks with a growing smile.

Even after he walked out of the door, the ambiguous atmosphere lingering around him still did not dissipate. The fragrance of cypress that she had unintentionally been exposed to also vaguely brushed the tip of her nose.

She bent down on the sofa and read a book, listening to the continuous sound of rain, and raised a slight arc at the corner of her lips.

In the lackluster days that followed, they found a little fun that belonged to each other. In an environment full of warmth and love, they watched the rain outside the window gradually disappear.

When the heavy rain stopped, the dark clouds retreated.

In the clear blue sky, there hangs a golden wheel that has not been seen for many days. The warm light emitted by the golden wheel spreads over the entire city, and pours down from the window with a trace of warmth.

The air washed by the rain is refreshing, and the towering tree in the distance is still standing in the water. Its branches are shaking in the wind, and the fallen leaves are floating on the sparkling water.

Aquatic animals also popped up and swung their tails through the debris and fallen leaves and branches on the water surface, seeming to be playing happily.

Chi Yue overlooks the water.

For a brief moment, the figures of frogs and water snakes appeared in his eyes, as if they were sending a signal to humans that they could go out.

She looked away: "Qizhou, let's put away the things at home first? We can leave in a few days."

Wen Qizhou nodded: "Yeah."

Their home has a lot of stuff, and the furniture can be stored directly in the space, but small items and household appliances need to be assembled and disassembled separately.

He picked up the tool box and dismantled the hanging air conditioners, solar panels and projection screens in the two bedrooms one by one. He then sorted out the small items with Chi Yue and put everything that could be used in the future into the storage box without falling to the floor.

.

"Where is our photo album?" Chi Yue flipped through the drawers in the master bedroom and couldn't find it. "Why is it missing?"

"Wedding photos?"

"And our childhood album." She opened the jewelry in the drawer and found that the marriage certificate had disappeared with it.

I immediately guessed that someone did it.

She stared at Wen Qizhou who was dismantling the floor lamp, crossed her arms and asked, "Tell me, where did you hide them?"

His thoughts are easy to guess.

It was simply because he was afraid that she would file for divorce and take away the things that held their memories, so they quietly moved them.

"The safe under the bookcase." He touched the tip of his nose twice guiltily: "That's a fingerprint lock. I'll get it for you."

Chi Yue followed him.

She waited for Wen Qizhou to input her fingerprints to open it, then squatted down and watched him take out the hidden marriage certificate, photo album and birthday gift she had given him one by one.

"This pen is rusty." Chi Yue rubbed the cool pen holder, indescribable emotions welling up in her heart.

I felt regretful and moved at the same time.

What she regrets is that she never valued the birthday gift he gave her; what is touching is his silent love and companionship.

"It can be used even if it's rusty." What he cared about was never the gift, but the person who gave it to him.

Chi Yue suddenly threw herself into his arms.

She hugged his waist, tears welling up in her red eyes: "It seems I haven't told you yet."

"What?"

"I like you." She couldn't help sobbing: "I fell in love with you a long time ago."

Every minute and second they spent together was like a drop of water, which after so many years gathered into a river, flowing slowly over her limbs and bones, leaving indelible traces.

She had been moved unconsciously.

"Well, I feel it." Wen Qizhou heard the most beautiful words in the world, and the smile in his eyes almost overflowed.

He stroked the top of her hair and his eyes inadvertently fell on the yellowed paper box containing the gift.

My mood at this moment is like the English words written on it with a pen one stroke at a time when I realized my feelings.

──you fell in love.

──"You're in love."

*

On the second day after the heavy rain stopped, the floods carried garbage and debris and surged fiercely into the streets and alleys of Suishi City.

The three young men who had not left Building C were rowing their boats and were about to go out to look for supplies when they encountered a sudden flood and had no time to escape.

"ah!!"

The boat was overturned, and screams filled the sky.

Chi Yue watched helplessly as they were swallowed by the raging flood, and then thought of the scene where Wen Qizhou disappeared into the water.

She held onto the window sill with a pale face, her hands trembling uncontrollably, and her whole body seemed to be tightly entangled with fear and uneasiness.

Just as she was immersed in the sorrow of the past, a kind and big hand covered her eyes, blocking her sight.

Wen Qizhou put his arm around her waist, held her away from the window, turned around and sat on the sofa.

He knew what she was thinking.

Because of this, when I see her devastated look, my heart aches.

His palm fell on her back, patted her a few times, and comforted her in a gentle voice: "Don't be afraid, I won't leave you."

Chi Yue stayed close to his chest, closed her eyes and listened to his orderly heartbeat, trying to put the past memories behind her.

He's still there.

She kept reminding herself that he was still there.

"Qizhou." She didn't know how much time had passed. She took a deep breath and stared into his eyes: "Don't leave me behind in the future, okay? I don't want to live alone, it's so tiring."

"Don't say stupid things."

Wen Qizhou tapped her forehead with his finger.

He said with all seriousness: "The situation is different this time. We will definitely survive until the end of our lives."

End of life?

Chi Yue couldn't imagine them looking old, frail, and gray-haired, but she eagerly hoped to get to that day with him.

She pulled back from her thoughts, grabbed Wen Qizhou's collar and repeated again: "Then you are not allowed to leave me, do you hear me?"

If hope is dashed.

She is willing to go to hell with him.

"I heard you." He responded softly, diverting her attention: "When are we leaving?"
