Chapter 39 Hades
Chapter 39 "Hades"
The gods dared not look away.
They wanted to remember every tiny detail of Hephaestus' performance to analyze his preferences and even... weaknesses.
After all, how terrifying the angry God of Fire is, Hades, who was promoted to great power, has personally given the answer.
Even some gods with sharp perceptions found that some of the great powers that were usually aloof had also lowered their obscure gazes.
But Hephaestus was not used to the feeling of being in the spotlight at all. He liked to hide in the dark and watch the sun rise and set, and everything was renewed.
He missed the island of Lemnos a little. Only there would no one despise or take him seriously.
But before that, there's still something to do.
He looked at Clotho, who was holding a streamer and smiling brightly: "Can you go back by yourself? Hades and I need to have a good chat."
The chat was just rhetoric. Hephaestus judged from his past interactions that his friend Clotho was a rather reserved woman, so she would understand.
But this time Clotto's reaction was beyond his expectation. She directly broke this silent understanding.
"Let's talk? Are you trying to trouble Hades?"
Hephaestus looked at Clotho with some surprise.
Clotho smiled unusually softly. She squeezed Hephaestus's palm, reminding him of the unusual distance between the two of them, and then moved closer.
"Don't be stupid, where can I go back?"
"The Temple of Destiny? But I am no longer the weaver of destiny."
"In fact, from the moment you took me out of my destiny, I was tied to you."
"It doesn't matter what you think."
She looked around the sky, and the reflections in her eyes reflected the gods: "What matters is what they think."
"If I leave, they will make secret guesses and then launch wave after wave of tests."
"Until you get what you want."
She suddenly turned around and hugged Hephaestus, and the hot breath she breathed made Hephaestus feel itchy on his ears.
"You don't need to admit anything, as long as you don't deny it."
"Just like you did to Aphrodite, you won't care because there is no need to care."
After Clotho said that, he naturally let go, and Hephaestus gently sniffed the remaining fragrance on the tip of his nose.
He laughed: "I always feel that you are changing your concept. If I agree to you, something very troublesome may happen in the future."
"After all, your situation is different from Aphrodite's."
"But it doesn't matter."
"Like you said, I don't care, because there is no need to care."
He looked towards the underworld where the earth was cracked. He held Clotho's right hand without letting go. He held up the history book with his uncommon left hand and threw it hard towards the underworld.
With one blow, the underworld, which was already torn apart, became even more damaged.
Seeing this, all the gods became silent.
They looked at the figure leading Clotto away, and there was something unusual in their eyes. Even the way they looked at Clotto aside became intriguing.
…
Mount Olympus.
Zeus's face was full of fear.
His sight alternated between the underworld, the island of Lemnos and the end of the world in the west, and the handle of the throne, which symbolized the power of the God King, creaked from the friction.
All of this was seen by a person in an inconspicuous corner under the throne.
This man is Astraeus, the god of stars.
In the divine court, his position is very embarrassing.
Although his strength is not weak, he is not outstanding; although his life experience is extraordinary, he dare not mention it too much.
His father is the brother of the previous god king, the celestial god Cleos. His mother is the daughter of the earth goddess Gaia and the sea god Pontos, Eurybia, who symbolizes the power of the sea. They were together because of their resistance to the rule of Zeus.
Imprisoned in the abyss of Tartarus.
But Astraeus was a shrewd man, and he knew that his opportunity had come.
He waited patiently.
On the throne, Zeus finally got tired and waved to end the meeting of the gods on Mount Olympus.
But Astraeus did not leave. Seeing no one around, he boldly approached him despite Zeus's impatient gaze.
"Your Majesty, you may need someone to take Atlas's place."
"He is not a law-abiding person..."
…
Deep in the underworld.
Hades sat on his throne. Although he was weak, his sitting posture was still upright. Persephone stood behind him, her restored hands lightly resting on Hades' shoulders.
Below is Triptolemus, who was unconscious after encountering the aftermath of the God War. An invisible force lifted him up and made him float in mid-air.
Looking at the underworld that was almost in ruins, Persephone's pale face was full of unwillingness.
She asked Hades: "Aren't we going to do something?"
On the throne, Hades looked calm. It seemed that the destruction of the underworld that he had spent so much effort to build did not affect his mood.
He told Persephone: "There is no need to do anything unnecessary."
"My injury is too serious. A stable situation is better than anything else."
"When I wake up from my deep sleep, a new situation will naturally be established."
Persephone: "Is there no other way?"
"Once you fall asleep, it's impossible for me to stop Hephaestus by myself."
"The gap between me and him is really huge."
"I even doubt that Zeus is no match for him."
Hades: "The angry Vulcan is indeed invincible. This is determined by the rules of the source of fire."
"But one failure means nothing."
"Rescuing Clotho and calming down the angry Hephaestus, the gap between you and me is not as huge as you think."
"I will leave Triptolemus to you, temporarily overwriting his memory with mine."
"Let him take my place and frighten Xiao Xiao who is spying in secret."
Persephone was noncommittal, and she suddenly said: "Since you are going to sleep, then leave me a child."
"This will make me feel more at ease."
Hades answered her: "Persephone, remember our agreement."
"You went overboard."
Persephone couldn't hide her loneliness: "I understand."
Hades did not pay attention to her, but focused on Triptolemus floating below.
He stretched out his hand, entangled Triptolemus with endless death energy, and molded it according to his own wishes.
The images of the two are getting closer and closer.
The iconic cloak, the lifeless look on the blurred face, and the indifference that repels people thousands of miles away.
On the throne, Hades nodded with satisfaction, and then disappeared without a trace, while 'Hades' below opened his eyes.
He glanced at Persephone and walked up to the throne.
Persephone was a little obsessed.
The resemblance, the resemblance is so great, both body and expression are impeccable.
She stretched out her hand, wanting to see what she looked like under the cloak.
Hades looked at her coldly: "Persephone, remember our agreement."
"You went overboard."
The outstretched hand froze in the air...
