Chapter 1 Prologue Marley
The keel of the Puffin streaked across the angry coast, and the sailboat was breaking away from its vortexed white fangs.
The bloody moon was covered by dark clouds, and they were churning hideously in the night sky, as dark as the shroud of the death star god Hedal.
Mare Giganta's feet slipped on the deck that was slippery with fish intestines and overflowing beer.
The rain tilted down like an iron nail with the storm, making him breathless.
The thunder sounds like a dragon, loud and irritable.
"captain!"
Marley tried hard to open his eyes wide and vaguely saw the sailor in front of him.
"Captain, we must do something!" the sailor shouted hoarsely.
The rain twisted Marley's long hair into a hemp rope and soaked his jacket.
He could smell his fear, a smell of debris and death in the sea.
He shouldn't have sailed on the day of the blood moon, Marley thought, that was not a good sign.
This should have been a relaxing and pleasant trip. Starting from Swan Harbor in Longkou Bay, stopping in Weiqing City in Vivalia, and then going to the Ashes Hall to congratulate them on the crowning of the young queen.
"I know!" Marley roared.
He couldn't calm down and think in the chaos and storm.
He found the rudder while shaking left and right, and the helmman was holding the tiller tightly, his face full of horror.
Marley stepped forward and grabbed the tiller with his hands, and used all his strength to resist the vortex with the helmsman.
His Puffin shaking and tilting like the rolling of the white barracumin as it died.
The deck bent and raised in the crunch, but the sailboat was straightened again.
The hustle and bustle of the sea caused a commotion in Malay's blood, and the torn rain stinged his naked arms like an ice cone.
The rain was cold, but he felt it was inexplicably stuffy.
"Stand!" Malay shouted in the wind.
The salt water sizzled, whipping his face.
His eyes were hot but he couldn't close because he was going to stare at the tiller and stare at the sea trying to devour their rifts.
Striped lightning was printed in the sky, and the thunder continued to slap, and it burst out, leaving a shock.
Marley and his sailors had sailed across the coast of the Abyss Island and Sunny City, and the sea surface was still calm at that time.
But now looking back, it was more like a cunning silence like a cemetery.
The brutal steep waves tear apart the hull, and the sailors on the deck were swept into the sea in screams, or were shattered to pieces on the edge of the ship.
Marley grabbed even tighter, and his hands began to numb.
The waves rose on his side, covering the sky, and the wind was calling for his bad luck.
The Puffin can only follow the trend and pray that the sea god will stop his anger.
Marley refused to let go, he began to stun in the spin and slowly lost consciousness...
——
Marley was awakened by the sea water in his throat.
He opened his eyes suddenly and was forced to close by the dazzling noon sun again.
The sea water slapped the rocky shore, as if dissatisfied with his survival.
Marley coughed, and he tried to figure out where it was.
The world around is as hazy as a dream, with no clouds in early summer, and the sky returns to brightness.
Marley tried to get up, he climbed over the reef and saw the full picture of the island.
"Damn it." Marley cursed.
There is no life, no animals, no plants, no water, nothing on this island.
All there is only the wreckage of gray bricks and asphalt piled up on the wasteland as high as a mountain.
Of course he would be washed to the Dead Silent Island, and the gods did not want him to survive.
Surviving from the vortex is just playing with his impending death.
Marley stood on the rock and looked out, trying to find a survivor like him but found nothing.
Why did he want to go to Vivalia to attend the coronation of Queen Nalozalia? The Corva family was a tyrant expelled by the Republic.
Marley began to regret the journey he started, and now he will wait for death on this cursed island.
He seemed to be able to hear the sound under the ruins of the building, the soul punished by the God of Stars.
Legend has it that humans and gods originally lived in the star world together, and Nemir, the Lord of the Stars, and all the gods under him coexist in harmony with humans.
But human arrogance angered the gods, who demoted humans to the mortal world and allowed the seven star gods to take charge of everything on the earth.
The world is more difficult and cruel than the astral world, and pain and misery have become the whole of human life.
Humans who were dissatisfied with this treatment gathered together and began to build two towers of heaven on the Island of Storm and Island of Light, hoping to return to the astral realm and start worry-free enjoyment again.
The plan was eventually discovered by Nemir. He brought down the divine punishment and destroyed the Tower of Heaven, while the people on the island became souls that would never be liberated.
They were crushed under the ruins of the Tower of Heaven, tormented by pain all the time, and attacked anyone who attempted to enter the building.
No one will set foot on this cursed land now called the Abyss Island and the Dead Silent Island,
Those who are stupid or crazy enough to try will either be lured into madness by these guarded souls or disappear on the island.
The sound from the ruins rang gently in Marley's ears again, a language he couldn't understand:
They sound like dialogue, but they have no meaning to him; their content is like sentences, but their content is vague and difficult to understand; he cannot even hear the gender of the speaker.
He thought of the people buried here, wondering what it would be like if anyone else heard these sounds.
This familiar, trembling voice was inviting him.
Come here.
Marley's consciousness was telling him his thoughts.
We need you.
Marley walked slowly towards the ruins, and he was gradually drowned by the beautiful sound.
He opened his mouth slightly and slowly stretched out his right hand to touch the wall.
At that moment, Marley felt that he had become part of the entire ancient building, and there was a tangible and invisible chaos in his mind.
He seemed to be looking up at the starry sky, and he seemed to be looking down at the world.
The stars leaps and history turns.
And through this blur, he could see a pair of black that flashed like a dream, rolling and reading everything.
Marley could not refuse the idea of looking at them, but the greedy darkness seemed to pull his soul out of his flesh.
Marley pulled out his hand and murmured with the rhythm of his faint heartbeat.
He seemed to have spyed on eternity.
