Chapter 13 Hadgar I Part 1

Chapter 13 Hadega I (Part 1)

Madkarim's arena never disappoints Hadgar.

This huge circular structure, surrounded by walls and soaring towers, demonstrates the uncanny workmanship of its designers and builders at all times.

It stands high in the center of Madkarin City, like a huge amphitheater.

Hadgar Grayman stood in the corner of the arena, watching a gladiator and a knight fight for glory and money on the sand-covered floor.

The air was filled with the smell of blood, rotting flesh and internal organs.

The audience roared with approval for every devastating thrust or vicious counterattack.

Hadjia belongs here - the arena is his home ground, the gladiatorial fight is his festival, and he enjoys the feeling of being applauded by everyone.

His heart was beating unconsciously, even though this was not his first appearance.

It's a dangerous industry, but it's also highly rewarding.

Not only the prize money from the competition, but also the personal rewards.

You see, the arena is a dangerous place.

Although the old emperor of Apollyon had long stipulated that during gladiatorial matches, the fight should end after the opponent surrenders, but it is normal for accidents to happen from time to time.

Enemies of Hadega's opponents would always find him, ask him to "accidentally" kill the opponent during the game, and provide him with corresponding rewards - more than the prize money from the game.

Hadjia would accept these proposals every time and deal with his opponents cleanly, not only winning a fortune for himself but also solving a problem for his employer.

He just makes some quick money from other people's misfortunes, and dead people won't take it to heart anyway.

Hadjia's opponent today was a knight who came from another city, and this unlucky guy had already received a bounty on his head.

The battle on the field seemed to be coming to an end. The knight was retreating steadily under the fierce attack of the gladiator, and his long sword was suppressed by the gladiator's long spear, which had an advantage in attack distance.

The audience began to boo, a one-sided battle was not what they wanted to see.

But Hadgar knew that if he wanted to defeat a fully armored knight with a spear, he could only find opportunities through the gaps in his armor, or drain his energy until he was exhausted.

Although the gladiator wearing light armor was more flexible, he only needed to be hit once by the knight to be finished.

Perhaps wanting to attack the eyes exposed in the helmet, the gladiator stabbed the knight in the head with his spear, but was blocked by the latter.

The knight dropped his long sword, grabbed the gun shaft with both hands and pulled it directly, and hit the gladiator who was pulled in with his head, and then punched the gladiator in the face, knocking him to the ground.

The knight put his lance on the gladiator's neck, and the gladiator also raised his hands to express surrender.

He was then dragged away from the arena, and Hadgar could see blood pouring from his flattened nose.

Only then did the crowd burst into cheers. The knight raised his hands to greet the audience, and finally turned around and walked towards the entrance of the amphitheater.

Hadgar didn't understand why the gladiator chose a spear to fight a tin man. No matter how sharp the spear tip was, it couldn't penetrate the plate armor.

Apart from the lance charging at full speed, that's another story.

"The third gladiatorial match was won by Lord Valaryk from Dragon's Breath City!" the competition host announced from the high platform of the audience.

These people shouted really loudly.

"The next one, which is the fourth gladiator, is against Lord Frobetus from Black Peak Castle -"

A knight in armor walks from the other side of the amphitheater.

"And Hadgar the Bane from Madkarim!"

Hadgar had already chosen his weapon, a long-handled axe.

His long-handled ax has a sharp spike at the end. The front end has the ax blade forward, the spike upward, and the hammer backward. It is a perfect weapon for dealing with armor.

Amid the cheers of the audience, Hadjia advanced towards the center of the circular venue.

The knight is half a head taller than Hadgar. His whole body is covered in steel armor. His helmet is also made of steel and fixed by a belt. There is an eye slit in the front.

Thick gauntlets protect the upper arms, ending in a rounded protrusion to provide additional protection.

He wore a long sword and an armed sword at his waist, each with an amber gemstone on the hilt.

The knight's armor is covered with an orange and red striped coat, embroidered with a pattern of armor gauntlets holding amber.

Those employers didn't tell him that this man was an Amber Knight.

Hadgar felt something bad when he heard that the knights came from Black Peak Castle. Most of the knights there were Amber Knights, the most difficult bastards in the empire.

Hadgar wore an iron breastplate and a leather jacket. Below the jacket was chainmail that extended to the head and neck. The iron helmet had a decorative spike.

He wore black leather boots with iron leggings.

Even though this is Hadgar's best set of protective gear, it still looks weak in front of the fully armed Amber Knight. He is not a knight, and he does not have his own attendants.

"The fight begins!"

The two faced each other on the sand-covered floor, each side circling to the opponent's left.

The Amber Knight raised his long sword high above his head, as if he wanted to slash hard from above.

Hadgar carried the long-handled ax on his shoulder and pointed the spike at the end of the pole at the Amber Knight.

Both sides are veterans of combat, and their fighting postures hide the maximum range of their weapons, making it impossible for the other party to judge a safe attack method.

The Amber Knight jumped forward and slashed at Hadgar in the largest arc, and the latter could only jump backward to avoid it.

But this gave the Amber Knight a huge spatial advantage and initiative. He raised his right leg and suddenly stepped towards Hadega. The slashing sword changed direction in the air and slashed from the right towards Hadega's left shoulder.

Come.

Although Hadega quickly realized the opponent's intention and blocked it with a long pole, the heavily armored Amber Knight was as nimble as him. The long sword reached Hadega one step ahead of the pole and struck Hadega's left shoulder at the last moment.

Hadgar's armor had good protection, but the force of the blow knocked him back.

He felt the impact on his shoulder, and blood dripped down his arm.

The Amber Knight continued his offensive, while Hadgar could only block it in embarrassment.

At the edge of his vision, Hadjia saw the long sword sliding on the ground and picking up from the bottom.

He slashed it down diagonally with the long-handled axe, and the front edge of the ax hooked the Amber Knight's sword.

But Hadgar was also slightly inferior in terms of strength. The Amber Knight struggled to pull out the hilt of the sword, pulled Hadgar dragging the long-handled ax into his side, and punched him in the face with his left hand.

The shock wave on his face knocked Hadjia directly to the ground. His nose was broken, but his right hand was still holding the long pole tightly.

Hadjia's vision was a little blurry, and his left arm had begun to go numb.

He tried to get up, but the Amber Knight's sword continued to stab him.

Hadjia could only roll to the left immediately, and the left shoulder pressed during the roll caused severe pain.

To escape from this predicament, he had no choice but to make a desperate move.

The crowd in the auditorium shouted, and some were already cheering Amber Knight's name to celebrate his promotion.

"Surrender!"

While pursuing, the Amber Knight spoke to the rolling Hadega through his helmet.

"Okay, I surrender!"

Hadjia lowered his voice and said.

He broke the ax in two and threw the shaft away.

His false surrender caused the Amber Knight to slow down his movements, and Hadgar took the opportunity to grab the sand on the ground and throw it at the Amber Knight's face.

He picked up the remaining half of the long-handled axe, used the spike at its front end to stab the Amber Knight's groin with a "pop" sound, and pulled it out with force.

The gush of blood was accompanied by the screams of the Amber Knight and the exclamations of the audience in the arena. He knelt on the ground and curled up into a ball, protecting his lower body with his hands.

"I'm sorry." Hadjia reluctantly stood up and said, "Please don't take it to heart."

Judging from Amber Knight's injuries, he probably won't live long.

The crowd in the auditorium began to cheer. People like to see the underdog win, and they did not hear Hadjia's cry of surrender.
