Chapter 26 Vigrich II Part 1
Chapter 26 Vigridge II (Part 1)
Wigridge Apollion stood in front of Smogburg in the Ashes Hall, which was connected to the walls of the Ashes Hall on the hills west of the city. This was the first time he had seen the castle with his own eyes.
I have to say he was a little disappointed-Smogburg Castle does not look as majestic as Fort Elno, maybe because it was the Vivalians who built it, and they did not have the same construction talent as the Hastzas.
The castle is octagonal, each corner is connected by a square tower, with grey curtain walls and marches and arrow slits for archers to use.
The castle is surrounded by a moat, and to the north is the Chiliu River leading to the Luxi Sea, the River of Life in the Kingdom of Vivalia. The blue dragon flag is flying on the city wall, which is the family emblem of the Corva family.
This is where his wife Dia lived as a child.
Dia often talks to Vigridge about how she watched his brothers and sisters play and play in the cobbled courtyard of the castle, and the small temple.
Whenever she talks about this, she always inadvertently shows a fascinating smile. It was her rare expression, and it was a different happiness when she was with him.
The king's residence is a manifestation of his authority and wealth as well as the entire kingdom. As the fortress of the lord of a country, it is not as grand as a border duke, which undoubtedly gives the arrogant and domineering nobles more confidence.
"Hisserzha's Emperor!" A short man walked out from behind the gate of the city wall. More than a dozen servants followed him.
The short man looked about fifty years old, wearing a dark blue tight jacket and black high boots. His head was barely able to reach Vigridge's shoulders, with long, tugged light brown hair, affable blue eyes and a gentle light golden beard.
"Welcome to Smogburg," said the short man, "My name is Sigmund Mirian, the Queen's Seal Minister, and the housekeeper of this castle."
"King Sigmund Izdor often mentions you to me in his letters." Vigric's eyebrows slightly raised, "He always says you are an excellent and loyal servant, which is a rare and precious quality in the Kingdom of Vivalia."
Sigmund's eyes lit up, his eyebrows slightly opened, and his right hand was placed on his chest, "He was a respectable king during his lifetime."
"Yes," Vigridge affirmed, "he knows what it takes to rule a kingdom."
Izdor Corva was a wise king when he was reigned.
As the monarch of Vivalia, he can deal with the powerful people of various families to ensure that his royal power is not infringed.
This is much harder than what seems. Without his mature political skills and diplomatic operations, the power of the kingdom would only continue to be delegated to the hands of the nobles.
Eighteen years ago, Diah's marriage with Vigrich was also caused by the consistency of Izdor's ideas with him. In many ways, Vigrich felt that he was very similar to him.
"Mr. Sigmund, you said that you are both the minister of the kingdom and the steward of this castle. The responsibilities of these two are completely different." Mondy said.
"I've never heard of one person having both positions at the same time." Mondy wore his favorite black silk coat and black high boots, a crimson cape draped over his left shoulder, and was placed on his chest.
"Yes, your highness..." Sigmund said a little embarrassedly, "The title of the Cabinet of the Kingdom of Vivalia has almost become a false position. The Minister of Seal has no real power except to provide political advice to the king or queen and preside over the kingdom parliament once every six months. His daily duty is more to be a steward."
"Sigmond!" Dia greeted him with a smile. The light golden silk robe looked even more beautiful and dazzling on her.
"Ah, Princess Palace...No, Your Highness!" Sigmund's face showed complete joy. "You have grown up, you look like your mother when she was young. Her Majesty the Queen will be very happy when she sees you. Dear sirs, please, Her Majesty the Queen is waiting in the castle."
Everyone walked through the suspension bridge and gates, and the attendants and guards placed horses and saluted them. Wigridge and his wife and children came to the pebbles courtyard in the middle of the castle.
The interior of the city wall is painted light blue. In the courtyard, the carefully maintained garden spreads on both sides of the fountain, and the water flows into three milky white circular pools. The poppies and carnations blooming in the sun are bright red, exuding a faint fragrance of florals and sweetness.
“It’s like a different place than before,” Diya said, “it’s become so beautiful now.”
"Are you satisfied with the garden I have transformed?" A pleasant and graceful voice came from the depths of the courtyard.
The woman was wearing a light blue tunic silk robe with silver embroidery and pearls. Her elegant and smooth neck was wearing a dark blue crystal necklace, and her long soft golden hair was draped behind her.
The woman has blue eyes like Diya, which is shining and charming. Her fair face is slightly red, her eyebrows are light and thin, her eyelashes are long, and her mouth is small and erect nose is straight.
Vival Queen is as beautiful as the rumored one.
"Lozalia!" Diya's eyes were full of surprise.
The two sisters walked towards each other and hugged each other tightly.
"Look at you," Diya smiled with the queen's face, "he has grown into a big girl, but she is still a queen."
Lozalia smiled and held Dia's arm, "I miss you very much, sister, it's great to see you again."
The queen turned around and bowed her head slightly toward Vigridge, "His Majesty Emperor Vigridge."
"Her Majesty Queen Lozalia." Weigridge nodded and responded. "Allow me to introduce my sons, Dorke, Mondy and Allen."
"Her Majesty the Queen." The sons all bowed their heads and saluted.
"Your children all look great, your majesty," said Lozalia. "Apollion's blood is indeed strong."
"Apollion's blood flows from you and me, Her Majesty the Queen," said Wigridge.
When the "Emperor" Igomel I unified the Great Plains and established the Hastza Empire, he exiled the tribal chiefs of the local Vivalia to the north.
They passed through the mold forest, crossed Long Neck Mountain, found a new land and settled there.
They established a new kingdom, the Kingdom of Drax, headed by the Corva family. However, after more than two hundred years of rule, they were deposed and exiled as tyrants, and the people there established a republic without a king.
The exiled Corva family returned to Vivalia, which was the "Seventeen Years' War" of the Hastza Empire.
Forcard Apollion, who was responsible for guarding the north, fell in love with the young and beautiful Princess Irena of Corva and took in exiled nobles.
The descendants of the two of them became rulers of the Kingdom of Vivalia, which later declared independence from the Empire.
