Chapter 3 Discovering the Secret of the Jade Finger(1/2)

After traveling for three consecutive days, Leng Yingchun's body couldn't bear it and she fell ill.

She fell into a deep sleep and did not wake up at all.

It was a year of famine, with insufficient food and scarce medicine.

In order to save money, the accompanying officials decided to give up treatment for Leng Yingchun.

They found a semi-yellow grass field and threw Leng Yingchun down.

The accompanying maids sympathized with Leng Yingchun's hard life and could not go with them to the palace to enjoy the blessings.

They put all the money they had on Leng Yingchun.

I just thought that if God took pity on Leng Yingchun, he would let her live.

If she survives, she will at least be able to buy something to survive if she has some money.

The selection officer felt a trace of pity and lamented helplessly, crossing out Leng Yingchun's name from the list.

It was considered as giving her the only remaining dignity after her death.

When she was confused, Leng Yingchun knew what they had done, and she felt very grateful.

She opened her confused eyes and watched the carriage go further and further away.

After everyone left, she heard the news.

Because she was free from an illness, Leng Yingchun didn't know whether to be happy or helpless.

She struggled to crawl forward, but her strength was too weak. After crawling for a while, she felt very tired, and she fainted while lying there.

As for whether she could survive, she no longer cared, she just wanted to have a good sleep.

I don’t know how long it took, but Leng Yingchun felt cold all over.

It looked like he was going to die again.

She was a little resentful that this world made her have to leave soon after arriving, and she was very unwilling to do so.

Her consciousness was always awake, but she could not open her eyes.

She heard the sound of the carriage and suddenly felt a little hopeful.

The carriage stopped nearby, and a person's voice was faintly heard.

"Little Marquis, there is a girl on the roadside!"

The young Marquis Su Jingxian's long sigh came from the carriage. The young man Tiedun didn't hear the order, neither stopped nor left.

"Save me~"

Leng Yingchun tried her best to open her eyes and vaguely saw the carriage in front of her. She stretched out her hand with all her strength, but fell to the ground due to lack of strength.

Forget it, it’s best if you can live, there’s nothing you can do if you can’t live!

It was Leng Yingchun's tragic cry for help that infected Su Jingxian.

He got off the carriage and stood in front of Leng Yingchun. Seeing that she was trembling all over, he took off his cloak and wrapped it around Leng Yingchun.

"Good Samaritan, please save me~"

Leng Yingchun said in her heart, looking forward to the young man in front of her taking her to see a doctor.

Su Jingxian knew that Leng Yingchun was going to the palace based on her clothes, but she was currently in a weak state and would hinder her schedule, so she was abandoned.

"This child is so pitiful. He was thrown off the carriage even though he was sick. The capital is so greedy for profit that I don't even want to go back."

He carried her to the carriage.

Along the way, Su Jingxian saved countless people, but they couldn't even express their gratitude. Tiedun felt that it was not worth it and couldn't help but lament.

"Little Marquis, we have a tight schedule, don't be delayed by trivial matters. The world is huge and countless victims need to be rescued. Can you save them?"

Is rescuing people a trivial matter?

You idiot, when I wake up and transform into Grandma Rong, I will stab you to death with a needle.

Leng Yingchun felt short of breath for a while.

"Everyone I can save is one!" Su Jingxian carried Leng Yingchun into the carriage.

The name tag on Leng Yingchun fell off.

The carriage traveled a long way, and there were deserted villages and mountains everywhere. People had fled, let alone finding the doctor.

Su Jingxian and Tiedun kept wiping Leng Yingchun's forehead with cold cloth handkerchiefs and helped feed him warm porridge and water.

Three days later, Leng Yingchun recovered on her own after overcoming the fever limit.

That night, the moon was sparse and the stars were thin, and the breeze was turbulent. Leng Yingchun opened his eyes.

She felt clear-headed at the moment. Listening to the crackling fire, she turned her head and saw the master and servant sitting with their backs to her.

She didn't know who they were or whether they would pose a threat to her, so she remained silent.

When Tiedun was putting firewood on the fire, he always saw Su Jingxian frowning, "Little Marquis, are you homesick?"

Su Jingxian tugged at the dry branch in his hand.

"There are famines and chaos everywhere, not to mention that our national strength is weak and neighboring countries are eyeing us. When can we realize the dream of a strong country? How can I feel homesick?"

Dream of a strong country?

Leng Yingchun's heart trembled. As a person living in the new era, she understood very well the principle that a strong country will lead to a secure family business.

"I just miss home!" Tiedun fiddled with the flames, "Little Marquis, when will this famine end?"

"I don't know either!" Su Jingxian shook his head and lamented, "I really hope that God will send someone capable to save the common people. It is best to help us strengthen our national power and make the Great Yu Kingdom become a powerful country."

"Young Master, you are really funny. We are a small country, how can we make it strong?" Tiedun sighed.

"Ahem!"

I'm here to help strengthen the country!

Leng Yingchun had a small fire in his heart: relying on his agricultural knowledge, he could grow high-yield and high-quality grain, turn this dynasty into a big grain country, and help the young marquis realize his dream of a strong country.

Leng Yingchun's cough attracted their attention.

They turned around and saw her sitting up, and finally there was a hint of relief on her melancholy face.

"You're awake!" Tie Dun came over and looked at Leng Yingchun condescendingly, "How do you feel now?"

Leng Yingchun smiled slightly, "Much better, thank you!"

Tiedun glanced at Su Jingxian.

Su Jingxian responded calmly, "It's a small effort, nothing worth mentioning!"

At a young age, he is full of old master's words and has a very respectable appearance. He might be a polite scum!

Leng Yingchun's stomach made a growling sound, and Tie Dun brought the warm porridge and water prepared next to him, "Can you eat it by yourself?"

Leng Yingchun nodded and took the porridge and water tremblingly.

The temperature was just right. She was recovering from a serious illness and didn't dare to eat too fast.

After she finished eating, she saw them sitting there and asked in a low voice, "Where are you? Have you eaten?"

A slight smile flashed across Tiedun's face.

The little bit of food left in the carriage was given to you to cook porridge. Next, we have to dig grass roots and tree roots to satisfy our hunger.

From Tiedun's expression, Leng Yingchun knew that they hadn't eaten yet, and he felt somewhat regretful about not finishing their food.

Seeing the seriousness on Leng Yingchun's face, Su Jingxian guessed that she was homesick.

He was also homesick, and felt that he was in the same boat, so he asked more, "Who are you?"

The master actually asked a little girl who she was.

Tiedun looked at his master in disbelief.

The master is usually so cold and cold that people would think that strangers should not approach him. Why is he so unusual today?

You don’t know who I am?

Leng Yingchun saw them staring at him without blinking, and touched the tag with him.

Meow meow, where are the ancient ID cards?

What should I do if I suddenly become a gangster?

Will he be arrested?

Su Jingxian frowned slightly, even if he found out who she was, what would be the point?

She is already an abandoned palace maid. Returning home will only bring shame to the family. Who will welcome her home?

I'm afraid she will be left to fend for herself in a house somewhere.

It's pitiful to think about it. It's better not to go home and wander around outside to make your family feel more respectable.

"I am Leng Yingchun, the eldest daughter of the Leng family in Pingshuikeng. I was unsuccessful in the selection process and had to be transferred to the ranks of palace maids."
