Chapter 56 The Four Famous Schools

"Why are you going there? Did you catch someone again?"

Zheng Mang turned on the ignition, tilted his head and asked.

"Who are you going to catch? Dude, this is also what the leader is anxious about. Why don't you serve the leader?"

Chang Xian couldn't help but smile. In the eyes of this young lady, the word profiteer was already engraved on his forehead.

"If you don't serve the leaders well, how can the leaders have the strength to serve the people?"

Zheng Mang curled his lips, this guy's words didn't sound right to him.

"I said, why do you live here? Why don't you find a quieter community?"

"How should I put it? The main thing is that it is close to the school."

"Where did you graduate? Nankai? Tianda? Tianshi?"

The rules of this world are circles.

Not only do people have circles, but schools also have circles.

Surrounding Balitai'er, the best schools in Nankai, Tianda and Tianshi are all here.

"Nankai!"

"It's amazing, man, one of the four famous schools!"

"Haha, it was true when we were studying, but I dare not say it now."

Chang Xian chuckled and said, "Besides, even you people in the capital don't recognize that ranking!"

Zheng Mang said cheerfully: "That means we, the people of the capital, recognize the National People's Congress!"

The ranking of universities in the 1990s is an interesting thing. At that time, there was no official ranking of universities, but verbally they were called Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, and Nankai University, collectively referred to as the four famous universities.

But among the top ten prestigious schools, Nankai ranks among the best.

Ranked third in 1995, ahead of Fudan University.

Both in 1996 and 1997, we were ranked second, ahead of Peking University.

But the people in the capital are different. They only recognize the ranking of "Renbei Qingshi".

People in Beijing think that the National People's Congress is the most powerful, Tsinghua University and Peking University are still behind, and Beijing Normal University can beat all foreign universities.

"Awesome! You are a top student!"

Zheng Mang was driving leisurely while babbling with a weird look on his face: "I heard that you had self-funded students at that time? Are you paying for it at public expense or at your own expense?"

"Oh! It's self-funded! It costs an extra 1,500 yuan in tuition and accommodation fees every year!"

Chang Xian lamented sadly: "I was just a few points short, and I wanted to come to Nankai to study. My family had to raise money for me to study. You know, our old man was laid off at that time."

"I felt very guilty because my mistake had made my family work so hard. So I made up my mind at that time that I would study hard to repay their kindness and repay my motherland for giving me the opportunity to go to college!"

The reason why Zheng Mang asked this is because from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, China's college entrance examination enrollment implemented a "dual-track system", that is, self-financed students and publicly funded students coexisted at the same time.

Whether it is an ordinary university or Tsinghua University and Peking University, there are self-funded students, and the number is extremely large.

Although it is self-funded, it is not possible to study by paying for it, and the admission can be reduced by up to 20 points.

If you want to be a self-funded student in Nankai, you must at least pass the key points, otherwise you will not be qualified to apply.

Zheng Mang resisted the urge to roll his eyes: "Who believes it? You even borrowed money to pay for tuition."

"I know you don't believe it," Chang Xian said with a smile, "Actually, I earned my tuition fees by selling scrap metal."

Zheng Mang was amused: "You don't tell the truth. The scrap metal is so easy to pick up, so why don't you introduce me to make a fortune?"

Chang Xian sighed and said: "It's a pity that the opportunity is gone. At that time, there was a Daqiu Village on the Jinghai side along the Wangding Causeway. They didn't have good cost control and there was a lot of scrap iron. Now Daqiu Village can't do it.

There’s no place to pick up scrap metal!”

Daqiuzhuang, well, that is a distant term.

When it was so bright, Huadong Village was just its little brother.

But, alas!

You can't say it. To say it is to make a mistake.

"You started laying the groundwork for your relationship by dumping scrap metal, and now you're dumping antiques!"

"Not to mention, self-financed students are often more diligent than government-funded students. In our school, self-financed students only account for a small part, but in the annual scholarship evaluation, they often take away a quarter or more. The proportion of self-financed students going abroad is also very high.

…”

The two of them were walking and talking, and unknowingly they saw the Beichen District Government Building.

As soon as Beetle slipped past, Chang Xian saw a man standing on the roadside, it was Jiang Shaoqing.

Chang Xian took out a burlap paper bag sealed with tape from his backpack, got out of the car and said with a smile: "Brother Jiang, I'm sorry, I made you half an hour early!"

"Wherever I go, I work as a service person, so I have to come here in advance every day."

Jiang Shaoqing looked at the red beetle, shook hands with Chang Xian, and said with a smile: "That's it, right? Are you sure it's Yuan Kewen's hat tube?"

"Don't worry. If I have any problems or questions, I won't dare to tell you. I just bought this yesterday. Your luck is really..."

Chang Xian clicked his tongue twice: "You're going to be busy soon, and it's not convenient to talk here. I won't talk to you anymore. I'll give you something. You can look at it later. Let's go first..."

Jiang Shaoqing smiled and said: "You kid, you have to go. How much do you have to tell me?"

Chang Xian turned around and waved his hand: "You can give it as you see, just a little more than last time..."

"I asked, is there anyone doing business like this?"

Jiang Shaoqing laughed and said, "Let's find a place in two days and let the two of us have a drink!"

"Okay! Ring the bell when the time comes!"

Chang Xian gestured coolly, and the beetle whizzed away.

After two blocks, the message on Changxian's mobile phone arrived.

"Looking at you always smiling like a pot of boiling water, how much money did you charge?"

Zheng Mang turned the steering wheel and caught Chang Xian's smile in his peripheral vision.

"Not much, not much, nothing more, nothing more, just 80,000 yuan."

"As expected of a scrap metal collector, you are turning iron into gold!"

Seeing that Chang Xian had made another 80,000 yuan from Jiang Shaoqing, Zheng Mang rolled his eyes.

"Brother, you want to think about what the leader wants, worry about what the leader wants, and earn some money from your hard work. Is it easy?"

Chang Xian also rolled his eyes, "Speaking of it, that's a real friendship price. Just leave it at home for a few days and you'll lose 150,000 yuan even if you just leave it at home!"

The so-called "morning bells and evening drums", the bell tower and the drum tower were once the most important landmark buildings in ancient Chinese cities.

Their main purpose is to tell time.

In ancient times, bell and drum towers existed in every city, and many of them still exist today. Even the drum towers in Beijing and Xi'an are national treasures. There are also drum tower districts in Nanjing, Kaifeng, Fuzhou and Xuzhou.

There is also a Drum Tower in Jinmen. The three treasures of Jinmen are the Drum Tower, the Fort and the Bell Tower.

However, the Drum Tower in Jinmen is called Drum Tower, but it is actually a bell tower.

The Drum Tower was built during the Yongle period and has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. The current Drum Tower was rebuilt and opened in 2001.

There are two big bells inside, one is a newly cast bell, and the other is the original "Bell King".

The big bell weighing 1,500 kilograms was originally from the Kezhou Lao Temple built in the Yuanyou period of the Song Dynasty. It was cast in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and was later moved to the Drum Tower in Tianjin to hang.

It is now placed on a cement base in the cloister of Sui Garden for people to view.

Jinmen now has a cross-shaped commercial street built with the Drum Tower as the center.

The commercial street is dominated by the architectural style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties with blue brick and tiled houses, with scattered heights, like a piece of music with ups and downs of rhythm.
