Chapter 529: Buddhist practice, meeting master and apprentice(1/2)
It is not that there are no monks in the six human kingdoms.
But with a monk with such a special temperament, people will have an intuitive feeling at the first sight.
He comes from the Western Buddhist Kingdom!
After close contact, Wang Tiangang also noticed that this person was unusual.
It seems to be only the fifth level, but it gives people an unfathomable feeling.
The surface is as plain as a lake, but there seems to be a powerful force surging inside.
Could it be related to changes in luck in the human world?
And Li Changan was even more interested in this person.
Golden cicada?
Will his name be changed to Xuanzang in his future reincarnation?
Such a sense of fate made him feel as if he was witnessing the origin of the mythical thread with his own eyes.
"Master Jin Chan, are you from the Buddhist Kingdom of the West?" Li Changan clasped his hands and returned the gift of the human scribe.
"The young monk is indeed from the Buddhist country in the west and wants to go to the east to obtain the true scriptures."
Jin Chan looked about the same age as Li Changan, and replied with a gentle smile.
"Going to the East to obtain the true scriptures?" Li Changan raised his eyebrows, "If you cultivate Buddhism in the West, what kind of Buddha would you be without the true scriptures?"
Jin Chan always maintained a faint smile on his face, "There is a true scripture in the world, and the path followed by the young monk is also a true scripture."
"That's why I'm so pretentious." Li Changan cupped his hands.
Jin Chan smiled and nodded.
At this time, Wang Tiangang's expression suddenly changed.
As soon as I mentioned luck, I thought of summoning the Wenlu to take a look.
Unexpectedly, the list of literary saints on the urn has undergone earth-shaking changes.
Today's Literary Saint List is the Literary Saint List of the Six Kingdoms, covering the fortunes of the Six Kingdoms!
What happened? The fate of the six countries merged?
He ignored Li Changan's conversation with the monk and sent a message to Li Changan, "The destinies of the six human nations are now intertwined. It would be best for you and me to rush to the capital as soon as possible."
Li Changan's brows moved and his heart skipped a beat.
Jin Chan nodded apologetically, and then communicated with Wang Tiangang, "Disciple thinks that since it is such a big event, even if Master is anxious, he cannot change the overall situation."
"It will be safer to think about the situation clearly first and then make plans."
"What do you mean...?" Wang Tiangang frowned slightly.
"Master, you might as well go and meet with Master first," Li Changan said.
"What about you?" Wang Tiangang understood the meaning of Li Changan's words.
"Disciple is walking slowly towards the capital from behind. By the way, we can take a look at the changes in the Jin Dynasty in the past few years, so that we can have some countermeasures."
Li Changan smiled.
Wang Tiangang glanced at Jin Chan.
The fortunes of the Six Human Nations and the Western Buddhist Kingdom are different, and wars break out between them from time to time, but these are only minor frictions, unlike the bloody feud between the Human Race and the Monster Clan.
So it can only be said that the relationship is neither far nor close.
But as his disciple, he has obviously become interested in this monk from the Buddhist Kingdom in the West.
"Forget it, this monk's cultivation level is comparable to yours. If he really wants to take action, you can suppress him." Wang Tiangang nodded.
"Since he dares to come to the human world, he must not dare to take action easily."
"You also have the inherited skills of the Great Sage Niu Mo. Remember to understand them, as they can confirm each other with the innate thunder spirit."
"Master, don't worry, my disciple knows it well." Li Changan said respectfully.
Wang Tiangang didn't say anything more. His disciple had cultivated the Dharma of the Great Sun Tathagata, and he might be able to benefit from the monks from the Buddhist country in the West.
Immediately, he patted Li Changan on the shoulder, leaving three marks, then jumped into the air and flew towards Dongyue County City.
Watching Master Jin Chan go away, Li Changan smiled at Jin Chan and clasped his fists in salute, "I wonder if Master Jin Chan can ride on the next journey?"
Jin Chan returned the gift, "Donor, no need to be more polite, please share the carriage with the young monk."
Li Changan was not polite. He walked onto the carriage with a smile, raised the curtain and got in.
Jin Chan also got on the carriage, and without whipping her whip, the sound of horse hooves sounded again.
Li Changan was the first to start the conversation, "I have always heard that the practice in the Buddhist kingdom in the West is different from that in the human world in the East. When I met the Master today, it was indeed extraordinary."
Jin Chan smiled slightly and kept his hands clasped together.
"There are thousands of Dharma schools in the world, all leading to the same goal through different paths, all for the purpose of attaining the state of enlightenment."
"The state of enlightenment?" Li Changan couldn't help but think of Ksitigarbha who he met on the bank of the sea of blood. "That's true. Buddhism cultivates enlightenment, and humans cultivate the holy path."
"I dare to ask Master, are the Buddha's enlightenment and the human saintly path the same?"
Jin Chan pondered for a moment and then replied, "It's the same but different."
"Both of them are the fruition status of transcending the other shore, but the flowers of the other shore are also different."
Li Changan sat back on the carriage, feeling the familiar aura of heaven and earth, with a comfortable expression on his face, "But in my opinion, there is no difference."
"Please give me some advice." Jin Chan nodded slightly.
"The "Tao Jing" says that Tao gives birth to one, which gives birth to two, two gives birth to three, and three gives birth to all things." Li Changan said,
"The beginning of all things is called Tao."
"Since we are transcendent, we must go to the Tao. If we are in the Tao, what is the difference between enlightenment and the holy way? It's just a difference in title."
Jin Chan always had a smile on his face, "The donor's words have the charm of the unity of all things."
"But the Master doesn't agree?" Li Changan turned his eyes to Jin Chan.
Jin Chan said, "No one knows what the scene is beyond the other shore; naturally no one knows whether the enlightenment and the holy path are the same."
Li Changan smiled, this monk is interesting.
He turned around and said that he was talking nonsense.
He didn't take it seriously, and then changed the subject, "I have always admired the Buddhist practice. Could you ask the Master to clarify my confusion?"
Jin Chan nodded, "The donor has the heart to worship the Buddha, so the young monk is naturally willing to give all his money to him."
"Buddhist practice, first and foremost, is taking refuge, which corresponds to the nine realms of the human world."
"What can be said about this realm?" Li Changan asked.
"Taking refuge means taking refuge in Buddhism. Anyone who has gained enlightenment by reciting Buddhist scriptures is called taking refuge." Jin Chan told the truth without any cover-up.
"There is no supernatural power in this realm. It is just about chanting sutras and understanding the Dharma."
"Then there is the eighth grade Huixin, and the one who cultivates is the tenth grade."
Li Changan's eyes moved slightly. Is this Shi Xin's statement the same as the Shi Xin he knew?
Jin Chan explained, "The Ten Faiths are also called the Ten Confidences. They are faith, mindfulness, diligence, wisdom, concentration, non-retreat, dedication, Dharma-protecting, vigilance, and willingness."
"Those who have perfected the ten faiths are those who have attained faith in the Dharma and will not retreat."
The look in Li Changan's eyes quietly changed.
Sure enough.
This method of ten faiths is exactly the same as the fifty-two levels of Bodhisattva mentioned in the Avatamsaka Sutra.
He thought for a while and then asked, "Buddhism is a faith that never retreats. In other words, does it mean that there is a possibility of Buddhist fads retreating?"
Jin Chan nodded, "People who are not satisfied with the ten levels of faith will often have troubles if they hear profound Buddhist teachings."
"I think that when a person with serious attachments hears the righteous Dharma taught by a good teacher and is different from the Dharma taught by the master he believes in, he will even commit great evil deeds of slandering the true Dharma and slandering the good teacher."
Li Changan said, "According to what Master said, these ten beliefs are quite difficult to learn."
"It's just the eighth level, but it's so obscure. Won't it become more and more difficult in the future?"
Jin Chan shook his head and smiled, "The Dharma of Buddhism is vast and diverse. The more tribulations there are, the more precious the attained status will be. This is the result of one drink and one peck."
"It takes one kalpa for monks and nuns to reach this level, but it also takes ten thousand kalpas to reach it."
"Buddhism has scriptures that can help with practice. It can usually be completed in two or three years."
Li Changan nodded, "I'm pretty ignorant."
Jin Chan smiled, and he was naturally happy to have the opportunity to teach Buddhism, so he continued, "The seventh level is called Zen Tibetan Buddhism. In this state, cultivating the ten abodes is like illusory contemplation."
"The next six levels are called Wukong. In this realm, you can practice the Yangyan View of the Ten Lines."
"All dharmas are like sun flames, like the sun shining on hot sand in the distance. The heat is reflected up, and the air sways like water flowing. However, the wise know that the water is unreal."
To be continued...
