Chapter 41 A moment of trance for the gods
"The methods of cultivation in the world are roughly divided into four categories: heaven, earth, yin and yang, four seasons and five elements. Several Taoist temples in Yishan are all yin and yang methods, while most of the Taoist temples at the foot of the mountain practice the methods of heaven and earth. These two are the most common."
Wangjizi said loudly:
"Although we practice Yin and Yang spiritual methods, we still have to tell you about some others. They are both worldly spirits, and the relationship between them is far more than just drawing parallels. Many places are interoperable.
"The Taoist temple at the foot of the mountain absorbs the aura of heaven and earth, which is also called miscellaneous energy of heaven and earth, and the aura of mountains and rivers. The practice is the simplest, moderate and peaceful. After practice, you will be able to cast various spells with ease.
"Fairies and ghosts absorb more of the essence of the sun and the moon, which is also called the Yin and Yang aura. There are also people who practice Yin and Yang spiritual methods. It is more difficult to practice because it is difficult to balance the Yin and Yang. However, the Yin and Yang aura itself is more mysterious, so it will naturally be possible to practice it to a high level.
It prolongs life and can be used to perform various spells after practicing it.
"The spiritual energy of the five elements is hidden in all things in the world, and it is even more mysterious and ethereal. There are smart people in the world, and they can all understand it. There are very few people who can understand all the five elements and be consistent with them. Therefore, those who practice the spiritual method of the five elements can
Taoist temples are also rare. On the contrary, some lay people who practice in huts will practice the Five Elements Spiritual Method. After practicing, they often naturally understand the simplest Five Elements magic. Learning to cast other Five Elements magic is also easier than practicing other types of magic.
It is much easier and more powerful for Taoists who practice spiritual methods.
"Many fighting skills in the world are in the Five Elements, so those who practice the Five Elements Spiritual Method are mostly good at fighting.
"The last four-season spiritual method is the most elusive and mysterious. The practitioner must understand the differences between the four seasons and absorb the spirit of the seasons. The talent requirements for the practitioner are extremely tricky. I have never heard of it except reading it in ancient books.
Whoever practices it doesn’t know the beauty of it.”
From time to time, young Taoist priests would ask questions, and the old Taoists would patiently answer them.
Maybe as he gets older, his temper seems to be okay, not as tepid as it seemed at first.
In the middle, there were young Taoist priests whispering to each other from time to time, or turning their heads to look at Lin Jue and the junior sister sitting in the back. They glanced at each other and then looked away, each with their own expressions.
"The first sentence in the Yin-Yang Sutra is that the sky has five qi, and the earth is responsible for yin and yang. Let me talk about the first sentence first.
"There are five qi in the sky, and all things are transformed into them.
"Actually, it's not just heaven. Humans also have five qi.
"Human's five qi are also divided into five types: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. In addition to strong and weak, there are also clear and turbid.
"There is an ancient book that says: Clear wood leads to benevolence, clear fire leads to propriety, clear metal leads to righteousness, clear water leads to wisdom, clear earth leads to thinking, and if the five qi are pure, holy virtues are ready. If wood is turbid, it will be weak, if fire is turbid, it will be sexual.
If gold is turbid, it will lead to violence; if water is turbid, it will be greedy; if earth is turbid, it will be stubborn; if the five qi are completely turbid, the people will be inferior."
Naturally, the little junior sister didn't understand. She just felt like she was listening to her senior brother recite the Yin-Yang Sutra every morning in her family's Taoist Temple. She needed him to explain it to her, so she habitually glanced at him quietly.
Lin Jue was thoughtful.
Inexplicably, I thought of the Hengcun Ancestral Hall, when I first met the spirit. He also talked about his five qi, and it seemed that he could vaguely judge his character from it. Could this be the reason?
At the same time, he also noticed the gaze of his junior sister.
But at this time, in someone else's place, naturally I couldn't explain it to her immediately.
Fortunately, Wangjizi gave an explanation after he finished reading:
"That is to say, the sky has five kinds of vitality: metal, wood, water, fire and earth, and all things change from them.
"Humans also have these five kinds of vitality.
"The five kinds of vitality of human beings are mysterious and wonderful. As long as you are a human being, no matter how high your cultivation level is, you cannot see them. Only a few spirits and ghosts can be seen.
"If your wood energy is pure, it means you are kind and loving; if your fire energy is pure, it means you are gentle and courteous; if your metal energy is pure, it means you are righteous and strong; if your water energy is pure, it means you are smart and wise; if your earth energy is pure, it means you are honest and honest. Five Qi
If they are all pure, they have the character of a saint.
"If the wood qi is turbid, it will become weak; if the fire qi is turbid, it will become obscene and impulsive; if the metal qi is turbid, it will become violent and aggressive; if the water qi is turbid, it will become greedy; if the earth qi is turbid, it will become stubborn."
If they are all muddy, their conduct will be bad.
"So, you little brats, please remember that practice is not only about cultivating one's body, not only about absorbing the aura of heaven and earth, it is also about cultivating one's nature, otherwise you will become a demon sooner or later.
"Even if you don't become possessed by demons, if you go out in the future and meet monsters and gods, or if you don't go out, you will be seen by the mountain gods of Yishan Mountain, and they will know what you are.
"..."
The little Taoist priest below was confused when he heard this, and was caught off guard and startled.
Can character also be seen?
Do gods really know what is good and evil in the world?
Isn't this too mysterious?
Although some people don't understand the reason, they accept it easily and just remember it firmly. Some people frown, not knowing why, and they can't stop thinking or wondering.
It is difficult to tell which of these two types of people will have higher achievements in spiritual practice in the future. I can only hear someone asking:
"Is this true?"
"Master, I don't understand. The five elements and the five qi are produced in heaven and earth, and humans also have them. Why is it related to people's thoughts? Why is human character affected by these?"
"Yes! I dare to ask Master, why is it that clear and turbid water qi means wisdom, greed and stupidity, while clear and turbid metal qi means justice, strongness, cruelty and aggressiveness?"
Wang Jizi smiled and said nothing, only scanning the crowd.
Almost most of the disciples were puzzled.
Some of them already had severe headaches.
Wang Jizi looked at their expressions, not to test whether they were right or wrong, but just to get some insights, but none of them had clear eyes and met his gaze.
His sight finally stopped behind the main hall.
There were only two Taoist priests sitting there who were not wearing robes. One was scratching his head and thinking hard, and the other frowned as if he had something in mind.
"What are your names?"
"Back to the master, Lin Jue."
"Back to the temple master, Liu Qingyao..."
Both of them were a little surprised and replied immediately.
"Your Fuqiu Temple has always been famous for its ability to select disciples, so I will give your master a test." Wang Jizi looked at them, "What do you think?"
"Disciple doesn't know..."
The junior sister bowed her head and answered honestly.
"What about you?" Wangjizi looked at him and couldn't help but smile, "Haha, it seems that Master Yunhe is really good at choosing disciples."
"Looking back to the Lord, this junior doesn't know the reason, but he has some ideas after hearing it."
"Come and listen."
"Just some random thoughts."
"We are all beginners, what's there to be embarrassed about? The theory of the Five Elements is inherently elusive, and any opinion is considered an opinion. What's more, even a sage may not be able to distinguish right from wrong with some of his remarks."
Many young Taoist priests turned around and looked at Lin Jue.
"..."
Lin Jue organized his words and then said:
"The senior just said that there are five natural qi, and he also said that there are yin and yang in the world. The junior can't help but think that the five elements, the landscape, and the four seasons, so the sky is not only born with the 'five qi'? But
It was people who picked out the five qi and called them by the name of the five elements, while others were given other names."
"Um?"
Wang Jizi couldn't help but smile.
"Go on."
"A few days ago, I heard Master talk about the relationship between people, spiritual practice, and heaven and earth. Since heaven and earth have energy and aura, and people are also part of heaven and earth, does that mean they also have it?
"People understand the Tao from the changes in heaven and earth, and take the aura of heaven and earth to cultivate themselves. It is not surprising that people's changes will be reflected in heaven and earth. The so-called five qi of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, I guess, are related to the many spirits of heaven and earth.
Rhyme is the same as the five elements and five qi. It is just that people use the five elements to name the five kinds of qi of people. These five kinds of qi are just some of the changes that the human body reflects in the heaven and earth. Just like the changes in the heaven and the earth will also be affected by cultivation.
It is the same as what a knowledgeable person knows. Maybe people also have more than these five qi.
"I don't know what the five elements and qi of metal, wood, water, fire, earth are, whether they are right or wrong, but I once heard a miracle doctor near my hometown say that sadness is not in the heart, and kidney failure is not in the kidneys. They are just called by a name.
That’s all, the purpose is to facilitate understanding. So just know the function, there is no need to delve into it so much.”
Lin Jue said for a while, but when no one spoke, he added:
"Senior first talked about the five qi before talking about yin and yang, and before talking about the five qi of heaven and earth, he first talked about the five qi of human beings. Presumably, he did not want us to know what the five qi of human beings are. He just wanted to persuade us to practice before practicing.
It’s just about cultivating one’s mind.
"Just like some of the stories told in Yamashita's book, there is really no need to discuss whether they are true or false. If you can clearly distinguish them, if they can help people, learn from them, and encourage people to do better, then it is already a good book."
Wangjizi's eyes lit up a little when he heard this. After hearing this, he finally withdrew his gaze and looked at Lin Jue again, feeling a little jealous and regretful.
After thinking for a moment, he did not say whether what Lin Jue said was right or wrong, but just said to him:
"Yunhe is discerning."
When the other young Taoist priests heard this, they realized that this man's words were at least affirmed by their own contemporaries. Although they still kept looking back at them and whispering to each other, there was a little more respect in their expressions.
Wang Jizi continued to preach to everyone.
Now it really talks about the five qi of heaven and earth, and really talks about yin and yang.
One lecture lasted nearly a day.
Lin Jue and his junior sister originally brought dry food, but Xianyuan Temple took care of a meal for them at noon, so they saved some.
Needless to say, although the food here is ordinary, it is much better than that at Fuqiu Temple.
When the two of them came out of the Taoist temple, the sun was already setting hard in the west, so they hurried down the stone steps and saw the ancient pines standing sideways on the cliff in the distance. Their shadows were pulled out by the setting sun, and their shadows were also pulled under the cliff.
"ah!"
A crow flew over and led them the way again.
"Senior brother, tell me, why do the little Taoist priests in Xianyuan Temple always look at us?"
"I want to call you Taoist friend."
"Fellow Taoist!"
"They are from Xianyuan Temple, and we are from Fuqiu Temple. We didn't know each other before. When we meet for the first time, it's normal for them to be curious, comparative and repulsive towards us."
"oh……"
The little junior sister answered nicely, and then said: "Master Wangjizi is quite good. He felt very fierce at first, and he even gave us food at noon."
"I think so too."
"Senior brother, look, the flowers on this tree look like small hanging bells. They are so small, no bigger than my thumb, so cute."
"This is called the bell flower."
"Diaozhonghua...Senior brother, do you understand?"
"I understand a little bit."
"Why didn't I understand?"
"Don't worry, it may be too illusory. The best way to teach is to practice. Just remember it and you will understand it gradually. It's just that I learned the method of nourishing qi before you."
"Then when can we start practicing and learn master's magic?"
"Don't worry, it should be soon."
Lin Jue was not such a lazy and unhurried person, but after he arrived at Fuqiu Temple, he could clearly see from the attitudes of the Taoist priests and senior brothers in the temple that it was not that they did not want to teach him, but that they had more
A complete missionary plan is naturally much more reasonable than what a layman like me might think.
"Senior brother, you know how to use magic!"
"It's just a little escape technique."
"It's amazing! If you go to a temple fair in the city, people will treat you as a god!"
"How can this be called a god?"
"Then what is a fairy?"
"Natural carefree and immortal are the gods."
"..."
The junior sister fell into thinking and then said:
"That's a god too!"
Without waiting for Lin Jue to respond, she looked up at the sky. Seeing that it was getting late, she reached into her shoulder bag, took out two small bottles, and handed one to Lin Jue.
The small bottle was only the size of a thumb and looked very cute. When Lin Jue saw it for the first time before, he was curious about where the second senior brother got such a small bottle. It seemed to be specially made for one pill. Later he found out that it was a five-year-old who was good at medicine.
It was made by my senior brother, and almost all the dishes and porcelain in the temple were made by him.
"When we were leaving this morning, the second senior brother gave each of us a pill of magical power. He said that if it is too late after listening to the sermon, we should take one pill and go back to eat early, so as not to be in the dark."
As she spoke, she lowered her head, took the small porcelain bottle and knocked it on the palm of her other hand to pour out the elixir. The white and tender palm turned red immediately.
“I don’t know what it feels like to eat it!”
The little girl's eyes were full of curiosity, a little excited, and seemed a little nervous.
After pouring it out, she stared straight at Lin Jue. When he swallowed it, she put the elixir into his mouth.
"Gudu..."
As soon as the elixir is taken into the stomach, the spirit becomes spiritual.
Lin Jue had another strange feeling.
After savoring it carefully, I felt that the aura turned into a heat flow, going down from the throat, to the chest and abdomen, and then spread to the whole body little by little. The feet were the farthest away, which was the last place it reached.
Take a step forward gently——
My feet were warm and numb. I don’t know where I got such strength, and I don’t know how my body became so light. With a little effort, I jumped into the air, almost flying. I took one step and it was only half a foot, almost a little bit.
If you hit the ancient pine in front of you, or if you push harder, you may pass by the ancient pine and rush into the cliff.
There was another cry from behind.
"Oh……"
A figure flew past.
Lin Jue silently grabbed her.
The little girl was pulled down. She was in shock, but she did not scream. Instead, she solemnly said to him immediately: "Senior Brother, I haven't told you yet. Second Senior Brother said that you should walk around slowly to get used to it after eating."
"..."
After a while——
The setting sun slants on the ancient pines in the strange peaks, and the crows lead the way. The two of them move around in the mountains. They are as light as swallows and the wind is blowing under their feet. Sometimes they even walk among the pines. Stepping on the pine branches is enough to cross the difficult mountain road. It just feels thrilling.
My heart is beating like thunder, but the mountain wind blowing on the treetops and blowing away the floating pine needles and broken flowers makes me feel extremely free and comfortable, which is wonderful and indescribable.
If there is anything to say about freedom, perhaps this is it.
If you say you are a god, if you are seen by people at the foot of the mountain, you will be regarded as a god.
