384. Teaching

"During the Emperor Daizong of Tang Dynasty, a certain worshiper of the National Master Huizong said that he would be observing the "Siyi Sutra". The National Master said: "If you want to be observing the sutra, you must get the Buddha's will." He said: "If you don't have the Buddhist will, why do you approve the sutra? The National Master ordered the attendant to serve a bowl of water, put seven grains of rice in the middle, and put a chopstick in the bowl noodles, and ask him what it meant? He had no words to say. The National Master said: "You don't even have the intention of the old monk, let alone the Buddha's will?" Similarly, Confucius's meaning is not so easy to understand. For example, your eyes are looking at, your ears are listening, sitting on a chair is comfortable, and the warmth of the air is felt, and your thoughts are one after another, like waves. One wave has passed, coming, going, coming, going... I have been like this, and there will be many random thoughts in the middle. But none of these many thoughts really exist. For example, if you talk about self-restraint and regaining rituals, this is a thought, and this thought has passed.

Later, we will talk about self-restraint and regain rituals, but it is not the first, but the second thought. Let’s talk about self-restraint and regain rituals, and the third thought. That is, what we have said is that we see a wave flowing, and on the surface we see a stream of water. But it is always flowing, but the wave we see at first sight has passed long ago, and there is a wave in front of us, but it is constantly coming up from behind. When we look at the light, it seems that this light has always existed, but in fact, this light has been constantly dissipated, and new light has been constantly filled up. The same is true for our thoughts and psychological effects, and we seem to always have thoughts. In fact, let’s analyze this thought: the previous thought has passed, the later thought has not come yet, and the current thought has passed again when we talk about "now", this thought has passed again."

The old man spoke very carefully, so carefully that Su Budong could clearly hear what he was saying, but he didn't understand it very much.

"It doesn't matter if you don't understand it now. I'm talking about benevolence now, which is different from the benevolence mentioned before. Confucius's "benevolence" is changing externally, but the core is unchanging. Lao Tzu said 'big sounds are incredible', so it is said 'The Tao can be told, and it is extraordinary'. Buddha picked up flowers to show his eyes to the public, and only Kashyapa smiled when he broke his face. It is only when you figure it out that you understand this principle. Words and language are all hindered and flawed. The truth they said is different from the truth they have realized."

The old man started from "benevolence", talked about the three schools of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, and then talked about economics. "I heard about you, starting with games, and wanting to do some financial things. This is not a bad thing, but you have to understand what the essence of finance is? In fact, we should not look at the future, look at the past, see what happened in the past, summarize experience from the past, and then know what will happen in the future. History is actually repeating itself..." The old man said very carefully, and Su Budong seemed to see a beam of light in the dark, which made him catch something at once.

"The nature of the crisis, what are the driving forces of the world's drastic changes, the logic of currency operation, whether the changes in the world's financial and political structure have changed from quantitative change to qualitative change..." The old man talked about the outbreak of the Great Depression in the United States from 1929 to 1933, "The currency changed from physical currency to credit currency, completely breaking away from the constraints of gold, and promoting the development and changes of financing and liquidation methods. These developments and changes have brought benefits to human society, but people ignore the consequences of existence and accumulation, so that risks are exposed. When the crisis breaks out, people rarely reflect on what problems arise in the currency and monetary system, and take measures to fundamentally eliminate hidden dangers, but they only constantly increase the use of methods or means of already-produced problems. As a result, they can only accumulate problems further, and ultimately produce extreme consequences that are uncontrollable."

Regarding finance, Su Budong himself is not very good at it. He knows more about what is going to happen in history, but he has never thought about the reasons behind these problems. So he asked about what he didn't understand.

"The birth of currency is because people regard goods that are praised and willing to accept within a certain social scope as intermediaries/media, forming the prototype of currency of general equivalents. Then from the concentration of currency items on precious metals, currency has become a value scale, with the functions of exchange medium, value storage, etc. Currency itself is a commodity, so it is considered a physical currency. However, with the development of the economy and society, the scale and scope of exchange have expanded, the shortcomings of precious metal currency have begun to appear, so it evolved into the form of bills guaranteed by gold and silver.

:'Cash in circulation'. Then, competitive society developed again, and many countries faced the problem of lack of gold and silver, forcing the country to change to collect and store the important materials most needed by their society as collateral. For example, the United States gave up the US dollar and gold pegged to the currency and changed to a currency protected by state sovereignty and law. The "credit currency" and "legal currency" guaranteed by government credit are supranational sovereign currencies such as gold and silver give way to the "national sovereign credit currency". In this way, the problem arises." The old man took a breath and said.

“What’s the problem?”

"There are four problems I have summarized: First, there are illusions of the outflow and return of world currencies; second, the total amount of world currencies is difficult to control; third, in the face of crisis, the government can easily expand its currency in order to save the market; fourth, the doubling of liquidity in foreign exchange reserves has caused global liquidity surplus or called flooding."

The old man started from the first point and said that the outflow of the US dollar as the world currency is actually just the outflow of ownership of the currency and has not really flowed out from the institutions that made it. The reserves of foreign exchange can only exist in the clearing institutions of the currency issuing countries from the beginning, and then they can only be placed in deposits or buying bonds. Therefore, the more foreign debts in the United States, the stronger the financial strength of the United States' financial institutions...

When the old man was talking about the rise, the prison guard appeared again. "You come out." The prison guard said coldly to Su Budong.

"Where is the old man next door to me?"

"He comes out together, too."

Before Su Budong could tell the old man anything, he was suppressed by two prison guards and returned to his original cell.

When Zhang Sheng saw him coming back, he couldn't help but enthusiastically give up his lower bunk to him and ask Su Budong to sit down.

"You've become a celebrity in this prison now."

"What's wrong with a celebrity? Can it be eaten as a meal?" Su Budong still had many questions in his heart and wanted to ask the old man to answer in person, but he didn't even know what the old man called, let alone change his cell.

The old man's knowledge made Su Budong extremely eager to learn, and it was more urgent than what he learned in the classroom. Because the old man's words opened a door to a new world, and the door was only opened for a crack, which made him a little fascinated.

"What's wrong, are you?" Zhang Sheng was not happy at all when he found Su Budong: "We locked up a small black room here and it was like winning a medal. If we don't say we'll walk around here, we'll be looked up at at least."

When did Su Budong care about these things and asked: "What is the process of changing cells here?"

When Zhang Sheng heard this, he immediately cried and said, "Brother, I finally hugged my thighs, don't leave me behind."

"Why are you talking so much nonsense? Tell me quickly." Su Budong said angrily.

Zhang Sheng was so scared that he remembered that this person was a fierce man, so he smiled and said with apologies: "It's not difficult, it depends on how to change it, whether the other party wants it or not."

"Help me to sweep an old man who was locked in a small dark room with me, see where he lives, and then help us adjust the cells together. The money I won this bet this time belongs to you, and I will make up for you if it is not enough."

"No, no, I promise to do these things." Zhang Sheng cried and felt a little aggrieved. "Big Boss, I'm not more beautiful than the old man, and Is it more useful?"

"Okay, you have made a contribution to this matter." Su Budong turned over to the bed: "I'll lie down and think about some things."
