8. Chapter 8 Go home and just be yourself (1)

Miss Tong used to keep a distance from the sayings of supernatural ghosts and gods. But unlike some scientists who blindly emphasize materialism. When it comes to science that cannot be explained, they use various reasons that they don’t even believe in themselves.

Now, because of herself, and because of her grandmother and Miss Tong suddenly became interested in supernatural things. However, Lin Feng seemed to be quite dissatisfied with this. Grandpa Lin also smiled and no one wanted to discuss it in depth with her on this matter. So she could only suppress her curiosity and ask her for advice when her grandmother comes back.

Lin Feng helped her find the key to the entrance from under the stone pier outside the house. The house was very simple, except for two beds, there was only one table and four benches. The only household appliance was an incandescent light bulb hanging on the roof. Fortunately, Miss Tong was not a person who was greedy for material enjoyment. She did not think that such a home was anything wrong with it. She called such a simple life.

Grandpa Lin said that he beat two pheasants and invited her to have dinner at their house in the evening. She happily agreed because she couldn't cook with a big pot and a stove. Grandma was not at home and she was worried about how to solve her stomach problem!

She was smart and ran to Grandpa Lin’s kitchen early, for the sake of help. In fact, she wanted to steal the teacher. If she wanted to survive here, the first thing she had to learn was to cook with the existing conditions here.

However, what surprised her was that it was not Grandpa Lin who cooked, but Lin Feng. Seeing Lin Feng skillfully killing chickens and plucking feathers, she couldn't help but go up to help. Her best friend Xiao Rujia opened a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. She often went there for free. So, she helped to do these miscellaneous tasks a lot. However, as soon as she got into her hands, Lin Feng glanced at her and clapped her hands and flashed.

"I'll leave it to you here, I'll go wash the vegetables."

Miss Tong suddenly felt like she had jumped into the pit that someone had dug on purpose. She was helpless and pulled her chicken feathers. It seemed that no food was in vain.

"Okay!" She put the undrafted chicken in a clean porcelain basin.

Lin Feng, who was adding firewood in front of the stove, looked at her with a strange expression and looked at the chicken again. Then, he pursed his lips and said, "Anyway, your hands are wet, so why don't you continue to do the rest of your work together!"

Miss Tong looked at his hand holding firewood, thinking that what he said made sense. If he came over, he would have to wash his hands. So she picked up the kitchen knife and started to kill the chicken. Her eyes kept staring at the chicken on the sticky board, but she didn't notice how weird Lin Feng's gaze looked at her.

"Ah! What are you doing, girl?"

A sudden scream came from behind, almost scaring Tong Xinhua to death. She frowned and turned around, and saw Grandpa Lin holding a sleepy dry firewood in surprise and blocking the door. She couldn't help but say angrily: "Grandpa Lin, do you know that it is very dangerous to scare people?"

"No..." Grandpa Lin threw away the firewood in his hand, ran over in two steps, and snatched the kitchen knife in her hand, and placed it far away. Then, he grabbed her hand and started to take the pulse.

"Girl, how do you feel?"

Miss Tong looked at the anxious old man inexplicably. She vaguely felt that she might have done something wrong? She looked at Lin Feng for help, hoping to get some tips from him. However, she saw that his face seemed to be even more ugly than Grandpa Lin.

"Grandpa Lin, did I do something wrong?" she asked in a low voice.

"No, you are right." Grandpa Lin shook his head repeatedly and emphasized very seriously. "We Xiaoxin are the most obedient children. How could we make mistakes!"

Mr. Lin, aren’t you free of money here?

"Grandpa Lin, good kids can make mistakes. People will make mistakes when they make mistakes." Miss Tong reminded her with laughter and cry.

"Who said that, we Xiaoxin will not make mistakes." Grandpa Lin insisted.

Miss Tong stopped talking. She suddenly realized that there was a reason for their nervousness. The reason was the other Tong Xinhua. But she didn't know that Tong Xinhua. Even if she knew, she didn't want to pretend to be someone else. She had been tired of playing a boy for twenty years. Now she just wants to be herself and her truest self.

After Grandpa Lin took her pulse, he questioned Lin Feng very harshly.

"Xiaofeng, how did you be your brother? Didn't I tell you all the time to tell you, do you want you to take good care of her? How can you scare her?"

Before Lin Feng could do anything, Miss Tong was stunned. She had heard that Chinese medicine was very powerful, but she didn't know that it was so powerful. Just by taking the pulse, you can know what happened to her today. This is so mysterious and amazing!

"Grandpa, are you a Chinese medicine practitioner?" she asked in surprise.

Grandpa Lin seemed to be surprised by her surprise. He smiled and said, "Silly girl, your grandpa is a barefoot doctor who doesn't even have the qualifications to practice medicine. How can he talk about a doctor?"

Miss Tong doesn’t care about any barefoot shoes, as long as he admits that he really knows Chinese medicine. She said that she made a decision: “From tomorrow, I won’t go to school, I will learn Chinese medicine from grandpa.” Other decisions are justified. With her current academic qualifications, I guess there are any teachers in the whole town who can teach her. It’s a waste of time to go to school. It’s better to learn something that interests her from the elderly at home!

However, what is surprising is that when the grandfather and grandson heard it, they did not object. Looking at their expressions, they felt more relieved.

"Okay, I will teach you how to recognize herbs tomorrow." Grandpa Lin responded readily. "No, I don't think I have to wait for tomorrow. Let's go, I will teach you how to recognize herbs now."

Grandpa Lin was so anxious. He really said that wind was rainy. He pulled her to the next pharmacy. When he reached the door, he turned around and gave his grandson a wink.

"Girl, if you want to learn Chinese medicine, you have to start with medicine."

Grandpa Lin threw her a brick-thick copy of the Compendium of Materia Medica. It is painted with pictures of various herbs, names, attributes, medicinal properties, and growth places.

Grandpa Lin obviously just wanted to perfunctory her. However, Tong Xinhua was serious. As soon as she opened the book, she was attracted by the knowledge inside. What's more, she had the talent to remember all the time, so it was not difficult for her to remember these medicine names.
