Chapter 34 Big Black
Chapter 34 Dahei
When we returned to Leng Palace, it was just getting dark, and there were sporadic lights shining above our heads. Under the eaves, lights were hung up early.
Dongyue sat on the steps, bent her elbows and supported her head, waiting for someone to come back.
It wasn't until a green figure appeared in the distance that her eyes began to focus, and she ran over happily, "Mother, you are finally back!"
"I went out to buy something," Nan Zhen handed her a few small bags, "Did anything happen when I left?"
Dongyue shook her head, "Eunuch Gui came over and sent some lanterns."
She pointed to the big lantern under the eaves and showed it to Nan Zhen.
The bamboo strips are fine, with dark red tissue paper as the background, and some orchid-like patterns on it.
"My servant was still worried about what he would do if Eunuch Gui found out that my wife was not here. Fortunately, he didn't ask, put down the lantern, said a few words and left."
Nan Zhen smiled and said, "Don't worry, he won't ask."
During these two trips out of the palace, Xiao Rongxi had people following her. Presumably, when she returned to the palace, the secret guards had already gone to report her.
Dongyue was a little confused after hearing this, and was about to ask more questions when she was suddenly attracted by two "woo woo" sounds.
The light was dim just now, so she had not seen it. Now when she walked into the bright room, she noticed that Nan Zhen was holding a small black dog in her arms.
"What a cute puppy, where did it come from?"
Nan Zhen handed the puppy to her, "I picked it up on the road. It must have been abandoned. No one wanted it. I took it back because it looked pitiful."
"That's a good thing," Dongyue weighed her hands and teased the puppy, "The cold palace is very boring, so it's just a good companion."
A pair of dogs stared at her without blinking, whimpering and saying something, which made Dongyue's heart soften, "Mother, what are they talking about?"
Nan Zhen was washing her hands when she heard the voice. She turned around and said in a slightly raised tone, "You asked me?"
She doesn't understand dog language either.
"Oh, that's right," Dongyue chuckled and scratched its chin with her fingertips, "By the way, ma'am, does it have a name?"
"No."
Dongyue: "Looking at it, it's all dark. How about calling it Xiao Hei?"
It's cheap and easy, and it sounds like it's easy to make a living.
"Hmm..." Nan Zhen was silent for a moment, "This name is not too domineering. Now I can call my little one Xiao Hei. How about when I get older?"
Dongyue thought for a while, "That's right."
"Then let's call him Dahei."
Nan Zhen settled the matter, and Dong Yue naturally followed suit, happily carrying Da Hei to the kitchen to find meat bones for him to grind his teeth on.
It rains heavily in summer, and there are thunderstorms for several days in a row.
Nan Zhen stood in front of the window, holding her hands behind her hands and watching the strings of rainwater dripping from under the eaves and hitting the floor, causing shallow splashes.
Looking up, it was already sunny.
In the past few days, she had been thinking about Mingyue Pavilion and the relationship between Xiao Rongxi and Xiao Yiheng, but she never got a satisfactory result.
She was worried that Mingyue Order had become the focus of secret competition between the two, and it would be too difficult to escape unscathed.
Nan Zhen raised her hand and touched the jade pendant hanging around her neck, her eyebrows lowered.
Seeing that the rain outside had stopped and she was about to go out for a walk, Dongyue ran over in a hurry, her lips turned white and she was out of breath, "Mother, it's bad, Dahei is gone!"
The night Dahei came, she made a nest for him out of shabby clothes, fed him on time every day, and played with him.
But when she woke up today, the kennel was empty. Leng Gong had searched everywhere and couldn't find it, so she hurriedly came over to tell Nan Zhen.
Nan Zhen frowned, "Did he run away?"
"No, I locked the door...it's over, that dog hole!"
