Chapter 25: Talisman Paper

Chapter 25 Talisman

The early morning of winter is particularly cold, with gloomy dark clouds floating in the horizon, and it seems that a heavy rain will come at any time.

Song Shu held an oil-paper umbrella in her hand and carried a bamboo basket on her back, and walked towards the market reluctantly.

The bamboo basket was selling herbs to the medicine shop. She grabbed a dead grass from the roadside and placed it between her fingers while walking.

As she walked, she suddenly looked forward to meeting the young man from Uncle Gu's house next door, as if she was named Fu Jingce.

Although he has a bad temper, he is not bad and looks good, but he is much better than the group of crooked jujubes in the village. Song Shu thinks that she is pretty good, and only when she stands with him is worthy of the four words "talented and beautiful" man.

As Song Shu thought about it, there was a little more smile on her face.

But soon, the smile disappeared with the wind.

She remembered Zhong Linlang.

His sister is so shameless! I don’t know what kind of courtesy, righteousness and shame mean! A beautiful girl actually walked into her brother’s room in broad daylight and stayed for so long!

Just seduces people! Judging from her appearance and eyes, you can tell that it is not a good thing!

The Taoist priest smiled proudly and continued, "There is a good thing in the girl's family. The girl's brother is saved by a noble person when encountering something. This is a good thing; the bad thing is that the girl is unsatisfied in love and is ruined by others."

She pretended she didn't hear that she was leaving.

The candle was dim, but her eyes were bright.

Seeing that she lowered her head, Song Shu gritted her teeth, and quickly threw the talisman paper on her hand into the bamboo basket on her back.

Song Shu bit her lip, thinking that he was about to refuse and she welcomed her, "I promised to come to my house."

I hope the Taoist priest will not lie to him. It would be best for her to die in the mountains. Song Shu leaned against the door while praying.

Fu Jingce was washing his hands outside. After hearing the movement, he raised his head and saw a woman standing in front of him with a red face, as if she was the daughter of Old Song's house next door.

Ah Fu is still caring at home, and Zhong Linlang is already very familiar with the road up the mountain, so she didn't let him follow him.

"I met her this morning, and she said she went to the market to sell herbs." Song Shu replied, but she was actually a little disdainful.

Fu Jingce frowned even deeper. Just as he was about to ask her when she agreed, Aunt Gu hurried over with a spatula and said with a worried look on her face, "Oh no, the girl hasn't come back yet."

Fu Jingce did not go hunting with Mr. Gu today. Mr. Gu asked him to go to the fields to do some farm work, but he went up the mountain to hunt.

After coming out of the drug shop, she saw someone setting up a fortune telling stall on the side of the road. She hesitated for a moment and told herself that this was a scam. When she was about to leave, she was suddenly stopped.

He was indeed right. The person who hindered her marriage was not an ordinary person. Everyone in the village said that Zhong Linlang was a god flying from the sky and came to protect the village.

"There is mud on your skirt." Song Shu was so nervous that she saw it that she hurriedly found a reason.

She turned her head and looked at Song Shu, and finally said, "What are you always doing here?"

She walked to the market in annoyance, and was worried that she had a beautiful face but was not appreciated.

When she returned to the village, Zhong Linlang was carrying a medicine basket on her back and was about to go up the mountain to collect herbs.

Zhong Linlang seemed to feel something, stood up, turned his head and glanced at the bamboo basket with his eyes. The inside was empty except for a shovel.

Song Shu watched her back gradually drift away, and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, but her legs became weak when she ran home.

"Go quickly. Aunt Gu is worried if she comes back late." Song Shu felt that she couldn't stay any longer and urged.

She stood at the door and looked coldly at the forest in the distance.

If Aunt Gu comes to ask her later, she will say that Zhong Linlang goes up the mountain to collect herbs and sells it at the market.

The Taoist priest smiled heartily and took out a talisman paper from his sleeve, which was painted with blood on it, "The person who hinders the girl's marriage is not an ordinary person, so as long as the girl uses this talisman paper to solve her, she can rest assured."

The talisman paper suddenly started to burn very quickly, but disappeared in just a few seconds.

The scene suddenly appeared in his mind of Zhong Linlang who helped him sew his clothes last night.

"This child usually comes back before noon, and it's really strange today." Aunt Gu said.

Zhong Linlang frowned and looked at her again, without saying anything, and went up the mountain with a bamboo basket on his back.

When Song Shu talked to him, he didn't listen at all, but just occasionally casually and perfunctorily.

The sound of running water stopped abruptly, and water was dripping down from Fu Jingce's fingertips. His face darkened and his eyes became colder:

"Didn't come back?"

He has a lot of things to do today, and he has been busy for a day and only comes back in the evening.

Fu Jingce frowned, "What do you promise?"

Aunt Gu was busy with supper in the kitchen. Uncle Gu went in and checked his prey while chatting with her.

His smile was so malicious that Song Shu was numb by his stare.

Zhong Linlang has magic on her body, and no monster can stop her. But it’s dark and she hasn’t come back yet, so something must have happened.

She got up too early, and there were not many people in the market. After Song Shu sent the herbs to the pharmacy and sold them, she took half a bag of broken silver to go home.

Song Shu was thinking about why there was no ashes when the talisman paper was burned. She was shocked by her and covered it with a guilty smile, "It's going to rain soon, it's hard to walk on the road up the mountain, be careful."

The person who called her was the Taoist priest who set up a stall.

As Song Shu expected, Zhong Linlang hadn't come back when it was dark.

But he and Mr. Gu came back at the same time.

When she was cooking, she asked Mr. Gu if he had seen Zhong Linlang. Mr. Gu shook his head and told her that he had been staying in the mountain all day today and didn't even see a single figure.

Song Shu was shocked. Thinking of Fu Jingce's face, she couldn't help but feel moved: "What can the master do?"

Zhong Linlang looked down at the corner of his skirt, looking for the mud that Song Shu said.

Song Shu now believed what he said, frowned and asked, "How do you know?"

He looked at her and his mind was gone, and his thoughts drifted far away.

Song Shu's heart was pounding.

"I just opened my eyes and learned." The Taoist priest changed his hand and twisted his beard. After saying this, he secretly approached Song Shu and whispered, "Actually, I can help the girl solve that bad thing, so that the girl can stay with her sweetheart forever from now on."

Song Shu bit her lip and was stunned for a moment, thought for a while, gritted her teeth and handed over the purse.

"Girl walk slowly!" The Taoist priest hurriedly called her, looked her up and down and suddenly smiled, "Girl has a lot of worries recently."

She won't come back, so let her stay in the mountains forever.

It's so strange. This is simply a weasel greeting the chicken. Song Shu regards her as her mortal enemy in recent days and calls her shameless yesterday. Why is she so kind today?

The Taoist took the purse, smiled, gave her the talisman paper, and told her how to use it, "You find an opportunity to put this talisman paper on her, don't let her discover it. You don't have to worry about the rest, just wait for the good news."

Song Shu stopped and looked at him suspiciously.

The Taoist priest suddenly stepped back and looked at the half bag of broken silver in her hand, with his eyes very obvious.

These idiots! What do they know!

Song Shu's face became more and more gloomy, and she reached out to take the piece of talisman paper over.

Song Shu nodded, holding the talisman paper in her hand, and was walking in a hurry, as if she had done something wrong.

He thought Zhong Linlang had been resting at home.

Aunt Gu's anxious voice came, and Fu Jingce paused for washing his hands.

"Did you agree?" The woman in front of him made a sound interrupting his thoughts, and his face was shy.

Song Shu was indignant and threw the weeds on her hand aside, completely forgetting that it was Zhong Linlang who saved the people in the village that day, including her brother Song Yang.

Zhong Linlang looked at her with even more suspicion.

Although this Taoist priest was wearing a Taoist uniform, he didn't look like a good person at first glance. At this time, he was twisting his beard and looking at Song Shu with a smile.

At noon, Aunt Gu went to the fields to deliver food. When she came back, she went to Song Shu's house and asked her if she had seen Zhong Linlang.

Zhong Linlang saw that her face was not very good, but she didn't want to care about her, but just looked at her in confusion.

There is no moonlight tonight, so I can't see the expression on Fu Jingce's face.

Song Shu was frightened, Aunt Gu stammered, "Song Shu met her in the morning and said she went to the mountain to pick herbs..."

Maybe I went to the market to sell herbs.

Before the remaining half of the sentence was finished, Fu Jingce went up the mountain without looking back.
