35. What is hidden behind the matter?

When the time reached nine o'clock in the evening, after the dinner officially ended, Sean took Windsor and left the Earl of River's castle.
In fact, the experience of attending the dinner this time was still very bad. Offending Brody Mill was secondary. The most important thing was that Sean was not full.
Butler William came not long after Sean and Windsor started eating. Sean basically didn't eat much because of the noble family's etiquette.
Later, the two incidents of being plotted by Jessica and Windsor playing music happened again. When Earl River finally asked Windsor the question and they returned to the table, the dishes on the table were basically cold.
So Sean didn't eat enough.
...
On the way to the carriage, Sean looked at Windsor behind him: "Wendsor, are you full?"
At this time, Windsor and another guard from the Earl's Castle were carrying a large box. In the box was the 10,000 gold coins that Archduke Ryan had given to Sean. (Butler Henry had advanced part of it, but it was actually only more than 9,000.)
This box and the gold coins inside weighed more than sixty kilograms, so it took two people to carry it.
Windsor heard Sean's words and replied honestly: "Actually... I haven't eaten enough."
"Then let's go back and have another meal! You are now a big shot worth a thousand gold coins!" Sean joked.
Before Windsor had time to answer, a silver-armored guard walking next to Sean spoke: "Your Highness Sean, do you want a supper? How about taking one with me? I stood outside the castle tonight for the whole day.
, didn’t eat anything.”
This guard in silver armor is named Lucio, a peak bronze-level warrior and the son of Lucas, a peak gold-level warrior.
He is now the bodyguard of the Earl of Rivers, following the orders of the steward William to protect Sean and these gold coins.
Lucio's biggest hobby is eating, so when Sean said he wanted to add extra food, he couldn't help but say he wanted to join in.
"No problem, just one more person and one more pair of chopsticks. I'll bring you one." Sean replied readily.
"What are chopsticks?" Lucio didn't understand what Sean meant.
"Um... the word 'chopsticks' is a word that we people in the capital often use, and it means no problem." Sean made it up casually.
"Oh, so that's it." Lucio nodded and said suddenly.
Sean continued to lead Lucio towards the carriage, but what Sean didn't notice was that when he said the word "chopsticks", Windsor behind him gave him a surprised look.
...
At this time, they also arrived in front of the carriage, and the butler Henry had been standing beside the carriage waiting for a long time.
Windsor and the guards who carried the box first put the box full of gold coins on the carriage. Then Sean, the butler Henry and Windsor got on the carriage one after another, and Lucio followed on a white horse.
next to their carriage.
Sitting on the carriage, Sean looked at the butler Henry: "Henry, how have you been spending the past three hours?"
"I'm doing very well, Your Highness Sean." Henry smiled.
"I have been chatting with other aristocratic butlers for the past three hours. They were a little disdainful after knowing that I was with you, but when they found out that you paid me double the salary, they were all jealous to death!
Oh, by the way, did you encounter any problems in the castle?"
"The problem...is really there!" Sean roughly recounted all the things he had experienced in the castle hall.
When Sean said that the Earl of the River was willing to spend a thousand gold coins to recruit Windsor, the steward Henry was shocked, and his impression of Windsor immediately changed a lot.
However, Sean did not stop, but continued to finish everything. At the end of the sentence, Sean asked:
"Henry, do you know anything about Viscount Mill and Water Pine Town?"
"I'm so ashamed, Your Highness Sean." Butler Henry replied shamefully, "Hetan Town and Shuishong Town are neighbors, but I don't know much about them. My former master, Viscount Lake, held the annual New Year banquet because of his surname.
I never greeted the Viscount of the Mill."
"Because of the last name?" Sean asked.
"Yes, it's because of the surname." Henry, the butler, explained, "The mill (Mill), miller (Miller), blacksmith (Smith), and hunter (Hunt) families have a relatively good relationship;
Rivers (Riva), lakes (Lake), wells (Vail), and streams (Brook) have better relationships with each other.
Basically, the two sides don’t have much contact with each other.”
"So that's the case." Sean nodded, "But it doesn't matter. It's not too late to investigate now. Henry, you can use more contacts to get to know the Viscount of Mill and Water Pine Town."
"Yes, Your Highness Sean!"
...
In the following period until the carriage returned to the residence, Sean did not speak to Henry and Windsor again.
After a busy day, Sean was a little tired, so he closed his eyes and began to think about what happened today.
This morning, Sean was very grateful to Earl River. After all, Earl River helped him eradicate the bandits on the way to Hetan Town, and handed him the full amount of 10,000 gold coins given by the principality without charging tolls.
No labor fees were charged.
But now, Sean feels that things have changed a bit.
First, what Butler William said about the bandits "all committing suicide" is full of loopholes. How could two Silver-level and 12 Bronze-level masters commit suicide like this?
Second, why did Earl River recommend the "Wolf Settlement" and "Silver Hourglass" mercenary groups to him, but the steward William secretly recommended the "Flaming Cross" to himself?
Third, why did Jessica River use such clumsy techniques to arouse Brody Mill's hatred of him? Is it just because of the critically ill Viscount Mill?
