45, preparation before departure

After returning to the residence, Sean stayed in the study room reading, and he did not leave the door of the residence again throughout the afternoon.

After an afternoon of reading, Sean's experience value rose to level 11, 43/200.

If we continue to improve at this rate, it will only take three or four days to reach level 12.

While Sean was reading in the study, Windsor and the butler Henry also came several times to tell Sean about the current purchase of supplies and the progress of the Yohn City defense force assembly.

Sean also gave various instructions based on the specific situation based on the plan he made in the morning.

The entire plan to return to Hetan Town is proceeding in an orderly manner.

After entering Sean's study for the third time, Henry, the butler, complained to Sean:

"Your Highness Sean, we just received news yesterday that Hetan Town was attacked by jackals, and we will send troops to Hetan Town tomorrow morning.

Are our plans moving a little too fast?"

"The plan is not progressing very quickly at all, Henry."

Sean glanced at the housekeeper in front of him and said seriously:

"There are still many residents of Hetan Town who have been captured by jackals, and they may die every second in such a harsh living environment.

The earlier we go, the greater the chance of their survival, do you understand?"

After hearing Sean's words, Henry suddenly understood, and the fatigue all over his body seemed to disappear in an instant.

"It turns out that you are leaving tomorrow morning for the sake of the captured citizens.

The God of Light has been able to send a lord like you to Hetan Town, and Hetan Town has really been protected by the God of Light!"

Henry's tone became excited.

But after thinking about it, Henry still said:

"Your Highness Sean, I think you should go with the second batch of the mercenary group. After all, the first batch will face the jackals directly, which is very dangerous!"

Henry's tone changed from excitement to concern.

When Sean heard Henry's words, he didn't know how to explain it. Doesn't he know how comfortable it is to stay in the rear?

He was among the first to go because of the experience gained from killing the gnolls.

But how to explain this to Henry?

Does the mountain man have a clever plan?

Sean thought about it carefully and finally thought of a pretty good reason.

"Henry, if you were a resident of Riverside Town who was captured by jackals, wouldn't you be very grateful when you saw someone come to rescue you?"

"Of course I will be grateful. I am willing to kneel down to the person who saved me." Henry, the butler, replied without thinking.

“If I don’t go with the Jon city defense army to exterminate these gnolls, then these rescued residents will only be grateful to the city defense army;

If I went with the city defense troops, these residents would be more grateful to me.

By then I will have a group of loyal fans in the territory, do you understand?"

Sean explained to the butler Henry.

"Oh, I see!

Your Highness, you were able to think of this in advance, it's really amazing!" Henry, the butler, admired Sean greatly.

"Okay, let's not talk about me anymore. Let's talk about what you have to do in the past two days. Your tasks in the past two days are also very difficult..."

In the next period of time, Sean told the butler Henry his plan in detail and made arrangements for what Henry would do next.

What the butler Henry has to do is to purchase the supplies on the supply list, and then take the supplies back to Riverside Town with the mercenary group. This is not a difficult task for him who is experienced.

After Sean had arranged all the work, the butler Henry assured Sean seriously: "Your Highness Sean, I will definitely complete your task..."

When Sean heard this, he thought Henry was going to set up something called a "flag" and hurriedly interrupted:

"Stop talking, I understand what you mean.

Go and get busy. At 8 o'clock tomorrow morning, Windsor and I will set off for Hetan Town on time. Remember to prepare the supplies for the city defense army."

...

After explaining all Henry's work and precautions, Sean began to continue reading.

"It's better to be a noble!"

After the butler Henry left, Sean was half lying on the sofa in the study room and couldn't help but sigh.

He didn't move all afternoon today. He had already made arrangements for setting off to Hetan Town.

Windsor and the butler Henry were all running the errands, Sean just had to give the orders.

It has now been determined that at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning, he will bring Windsor and 200 soldiers from the city defense army of Yohn City to meet in the open space outside the south gate of Yohn City.

Of these 200 soldiers, about 40-50 are support soldiers, and the rest are all main combat soldiers.

And to Sean's expectation, he actually knew the officer sent by Earl River to lead the team this time.

The leading officer was Lucio, Lucas's son. On the day he returned from the dinner at River Fort, Sean had a supper with him.

It is also possible that Lucas wanted Lucio to practice his actual combat ability and get some gold before sending him out. After all, the regular army would basically not suffer any losses when dealing with the Jackals.

Sean guessed.

...

The time came to six o'clock in the evening. After dinner, Sean returned to his room and began to continue reading, meditating and practicing magic.

He was going to Hetan Town tomorrow morning, and Sean originally wanted to pack his things.

But when I thought that all I had was two sets of clothes and thirty books, I no longer thought about packing it away.

Meditation and practicing magic still consume a lot of energy. After practicing for more than an hour, Sean felt that his energy was low, so he lay on the bed and fell asleep deeply.

...

When Sean woke up again, it was 6 a.m. on the fifth day of time travel.

After Sean woke up, he got dressed and walked out of his room.

But when he first arrived in the lobby of the residence, Sean saw that his subordinates were busy doing various tasks.

The busiest among them must be his butler Henry, who was loudly instructing the servants at the door to move things.

Seeing Sean come to the hall, Henry walked to Sean's side:

"Your Highness Sean, I have returned the carriage you rode in yesterday to William, the steward of the Earl of River. Now I have ordered a new carriage for you to ride on when you go to the territory."

"Okay. By the way, Henry, are the city defense troops ready?" Sean asked.

"I've already asked about this. They have prepared enough food for everyone to eat for half a month and have started gathering outside the south gate."

"Okay, after I finish eating, I will take Windsor to the south gate to meet them." Sean said.

...

After eating breakfast, Sean tidied up his salutes, then got on the carriage and left his current residence with Windsor.

Behind Sean's carriage, there was also a carriage full of goods. This carriage contained all of Sean's clothes, the books he bought in the library, the ingredients he bought in the market yesterday, and Sean's week.

Time for food and clothing.

After the carriage started moving slowly, Sean looked at the residence where he had lived for four days and felt a little reluctant to leave.

Although I live in a civilian area, life here is quite comfortable.
