Chapter 4: Bring Home

Wan Hongmei and Yun Huachun were dumbfounded.

"Where's my daughter?"

"You were here just now? Where has my daughter gone?" The two of them burst into tears.

Yuntao was looking at the living room of her home in surprise, when suddenly the cries of her parents could be heard from all around.

She has come in, but her parents haven’t come in yet!

Yuntao touched the mole on her hand and thought about going out.

In an instant, she was back in her original room.

She was greeted by two relatives with red eyes.

"How come your child suddenly disappeared? Your mother and I were frightened to death!" Yun Huachun patted his chest and said.

"Dad, Mom, I just went to our house. You touched the mole on your hand, thinking about going home and seeing if you can go in?" Yuntao said happily.

The two of them dubiously followed Yuntao's instructions and disappeared instantly.

Three people appeared at the entrance wearing clothes that were incompatible with the furnishings of the house.

"This is our home?" Wan Hongmei asked in surprise.

"Yes, mother, we brought our home here. Let me see if there is anything missing at home?" Yuntao said, feeling uncontrollably happy in her heart.

Yuntao stepped forward and pressed the light switch and found that there was power. She went back to the house and checked her computer. There was no network, but other functions could still be used normally.

She rolled over happily on the bed.

Yun Huachun opened the curtains to observe the situation outside the room.

The doors and windows can be opened, but there is a layer of gray fog outside, making it difficult to see clearly.

Yun Huachun stretched out his hand, but there seemed to be a wall of air blocking the window. He couldn't reach it out, and the fog couldn't touch it.

He looked up and saw a wooden box on the top of the cabinet, with his hammer stuffed in the box.

Wan Hongmei ran back and forth between the kitchen and the master bedroom to determine if there was anything missing at home.

The electrical appliances in the house can be used normally, but there is no water in the faucet.

"Uncle Yun! My grandpa called me to bring you a basket..." A strange boy's voice suddenly sounded in the house.

The sound was extremely loud in their house, and the family hurried to the living room, thinking of going out.

In an instant, there were three more living people in the adobe room.

"What's wrong?"

The family of three hurriedly walked out, and what they saw was a child half a person tall, holding several baskets stacked on top of each other, which were about the same height as others.

Most of his body was blocked behind the basket. The child saw a few people putting things on the ground and repeating what his grandfather taught him.

"Uncle Yun, my grandpa asked you to pack your things quickly. Everyone in the village is leaving..." The child imitated the attitude of an adult and said.

Then he ran away without a moment's notice.

Yun Huachun stepped forward and picked up the basket, holding it and looking around the yard.

Except for a dozen chickens surrounded by a fence, a donkey tied at the door of the woodshed, and some tools for farm work, they were all the property of a farmer family.

"Dad, what should we pack?" Yuntao looked around the yard and asked in confusion.

"Pick up all the clothes and take them with you. I'll drag the cart out, put some food on the cart, and hide some in the house..." When he said the last sentence, Yun Huachun lowered his voice.

The house is their family's biggest secret.

"What about this guy?" Wan Hongmei glared at Hu Mazi, who had already passed out.

"After packing up his things, tie him to the woodshed. Life or death is up to him." Yun Huachun said coldly.

There is no need for him to be merciful to a bad person who hurts his family, but he cannot directly end his life.

Yun Huachun was first dragged to the living room of the house by Wan Hongmei to treat his wounds.

"It hurts, it hurts..." Yun Huachun gasped.

"I know it hurts, but I still show off!" Wan Hongmei complained, while the movements of her hands became gentler.

Yuntao took out her monthly essentials from her medicine box and said, "Dad, take this painkiller, it will make you feel better."

After the family helped Yun Huachun take care of his wounds, they began to pack their things in a hurry.

Wan Hongmei emptied out all the food at home, spread a layer of straw on the bottom of the basket, and put the eggs in one by one.

There were about 200 kilograms of grain in the granary at home, and she spread more than half of it into the space. There was still more than 100 kilograms piled in the kitchen, and she put it all on the cart.

Yuntao dug out the money hidden in the cracks in the wall, put it in the living room of the house, and put it in a transparent glass.

When she put it in, she counted more than a hundred copper coins and three pieces of silver, which was the family's savings.

After putting these away, Yuntao picked up some more clothes and pots and pans and threw them into the space.

After all the food and utensils were put on the cart, Yun Huachun bundled a lot of dry straw from the woodshed and put it on the cart. He also put the chickens into cages and tied up the flax seeds and threw them into the woodshed.

"Tao'er, take a drink of water and we should go..." Wan Hongmei shouted, once again making sure that there was nothing missing at home.

Wan Hongmei held Yun Tao's hand and carried a bamboo bag on her back. Yun Huachun drove the donkey cart and the family hurried towards the entrance of the village.

On the way out of the village entrance, the family of three looked at the crowd around them in confusion and fear.

The criss-crossing country roads are full of people fleeing in a hurry.

Some men carry their wives on their backs, while their chests are full of baggage.

The women were carrying poles, and there was a child sitting on the baskets on the left and right sides.

There are also those who put the child directly behind the backpack, carry things in both hands, and walk forward in a hurry.

It is rare to see oxen and donkeys pulling carts, but there are quite a few pushing carts, as well as driving sheep.

"Yun Huachun, Yun Huachun!" Shi Yang ran against the direction of the crowd.

His face was red and anxious, and big beads of sweat were dripping from his forehead. "Yun Huachun, everyone in our village has walked half a mile away."

"Why are you here?" He said and looked at Yun Huachun's cart.

The things on the cart were piled as high as a hill, and the cart was only pulled by a skinny donkey.

The entire Yun family was empty-handed, waiting for the donkey to pull everything. Shi Yang frowned unconsciously.

"I have a lot of things to pack, so I was delayed for a while. Please ask Brother Xiaoshi to come find me." Yun Huachun said with a smile on his face.

In front of me is the village chief's cousin, a well-known warm-hearted man in the village.

"Let me help you push the cart. Don't be idle. Come and push it together. Someone has to hold the donkey..." Shi Yang came up with an idea.

"Then thank you for your hard work, Brother Xiaoshi."

Yun Huachun took Wan Hongmei and started pushing the cart, while Yuntao led the donkey in front.

The donkey can't pull the cart, mainly because the road is difficult.

On the rugged dirt road, the wheel cannot roll up the steeper slope at all.

This is the first time for a family of three to use a donkey cart to transport goods, and they don’t know the reason behind it.

With Shi Yang's help, the donkey cart moved up quickly.

It took half a cup of tea to catch up with the large group in front.

"Yun Huachun is following!" Shi Yang howled, causing everyone around him to glance at the donkey cart.

But they all looked away after just one glance. Everyone was on the run and had no time to care about others.
