Chapter 14: I don't know if it was used by others

The door of a temple outside Jinling City was closed, and only a few Buddhist passages from the Sixth Patriarch Altar Sutra could be heard coming from inside.

Among the walls, several novice monks about eight or nine years old were quietly sweeping the fallen leaves on the ground with brooms. One of them, a young novice, took the broom in his hand and sneakily walked to a big room with his ear against the window.

He listened carefully to the Buddhist scriptures coming out of the room with a look of enjoyment on his face.

"Look, that boy from the Gu family is eavesdropping on Master and the others reciting sutras again. I don't know what he thinks and why he likes to listen to sutras so much."

Several young novices who were cleaning fallen leaves not far away were making fun of the eavesdropping young novice at the other end, when they heard something said by someone behind them quietly.

"Speak carefully. Although my Buddha does not prohibit me from speaking, I, the Buddha, rely on my heart. Judging others is not taught by my Buddha. All my junior disciples who have not yet been awarded the title of Dharma, please be careful in your words and actions."

When these young novices turned around, they saw a novice who was not much older than them looking at them kindly with his head lowered.

The young novices nodded quickly and said to this person in unison, "We understand, thank you for your guidance, senior brother."

The man clasped his hands together, opened his mouth slightly, and continued softly, "Although Junior Brother Gu is young, he possesses the wisdom of the Buddha. Although his Buddha mind is young, he yearns for my Buddha wholeheartedly. All Junior Junior Brother Gu must pay more attention to him in the future."

Study so that you can take refuge in my Buddha as soon as possible. Let’s do this. After all these things, all of you, my junior brothers, can follow me to the meditation room and listen to a senior brother reciting sutras.”

The young novices were filled with joy, nodded fiercely, and said in unison, "Then I will go and clean up the fallen leaves now. Senior brother, please go first."

The man nodded slightly and walked straight forward. When he was about to approach the sneaky little novice who was immersed in the Buddhist scriptures, he slowed down and walked slowly behind the little novice. With one hand, he gently

After patting the little novice on the shoulder, the little novice opened his eyes suddenly, and then his eyes saw the person who came directly into his eyes.

The little novice monk calmed down, as if he didn't want to disturb the people chanting sutras in the room, lowered his voice and asked in a low voice, "What's the matter, senior brother?"

The man narrowed his eyes slightly and was about to speak when his expression suddenly changed, as if he had seen something extraordinary. He finally hesitated for a long time and could only say softly.

"Senior Brother Huineng will teach us novice monks in his Zen room later. Senior Brother asked me to tell you. Junior Brother, you can go there with all the Junior Brothers later."

As soon as he finished speaking, the man didn't care about the little novice's answer. He turned around and walked quickly behind him, as if he was running away from someone.

But the little novice monk was a little confused as to why this senior brother was acting in such a hurry. Just when he was about to ask, he saw another hand on his shoulder. The little novice monk turned his head and looked at it, and couldn't help but say.

"

Brother? You, why are you here?"

A closer look revealed that the person whom the young novice called eldest brother was the commander of the gold-holding division that Kumu met in the wilderness that day—suddenly he laughed!

Suddenly he smiled and looked a little pale. A pair of sharp eyes looked at the figure who was slowly walking away, as if he was thinking about something.

When the little novice made a sound again, he suddenly realized what he was doing. He smiled slightly, gently stroked the little novice's head with his palm, and said, "We haven't seen you for a few days. Second brother, you are already used to staying in this Zen temple.

They all started lying in the corner to eavesdrop on Buddhist scriptures, not bad, not bad..."

As expected... As expected of the Buddha's heart that was favored by the master...

The palm of the sudden smile stroked the little novice's head. Not long after touching it, the little novice reached out and picked up the palm of the sudden smile, and said doubtfully, "Brother, how come your palm has become so rough? It feels completely different from the past."

Same, it makes my head hurt."

When Su Dixiao heard this, his expression suddenly changed, and he quickly took his palms out of the novice monk's hands, put them behind his waist, and said, "What's the matter? Your brother and I have been practicing archery for almost ten years, and it is inevitable that there are some calluses on my hands."

, where did the past feelings come from, it’s just your kid’s illusion.”

As he said that, he squatted down with a sudden smile, looked at the little novice monk's head, and joked with the corner of his mouth raised, "Why are you staying here today? If I remember correctly, you should be cleaning fallen leaves today, right?"

The young novice's face turned red, and he was a little embarrassed. He subconsciously wanted to hide the broom he was holding in his other hand behind his back, but he suddenly snatched it away from him with a smile.

Suddenly holding the broom, the smile on his face suddenly disappeared, he frowned, looked at the little novice monk, and said, "What? Are you lazy again?"

When the little novice monk saw Hu Dixiao's tone, he turned around and was about to run away, but before he could take a step

Hearing a whooshing sound, he suddenly threw the broom in his hand forward through the air. The wooden broom brushed against the little novice's cheek, lightly scratching a layer of skin, and a few drops of strange-colored blood flowed out. Then the broom

Gen was actually sunk three inches into the ground and stood in front of the little novice monk.

"What are you running for?!"

A voice that was suddenly laughing and a little angry came from behind. The little novice monk suddenly panicked, turned back, lowered his head and replied with some guilt.

"I don't know why. Every time I hear Buddhist scriptures coming from the temple, I can't control myself. I just want to put down my affairs and listen to the Buddhist scriptures. And, and..."

As the little novice monk talked, he felt a little wronged and couldn't help crying.

Suddenly he smiled and saw that the little novice monk was actually made to cry by his scolding. He was also a little panicked. Although he wanted to apologize and coax the little novice monk now, he didn't.

I knew how to speak, but after holding it in for a long time, I could only say something helpless.

"I won't care about this matter, don't cry."

But what happened next made Hu Dixiao almost have an attack.

After suddenly saying this with a smile, he just blinked and saw that the little novice had stopped crying. When he stepped forward and took a closer look, it turned out that the little novice was just pretending to cry. There was not a single tear on his face, and he was looking at it with a naive smile.

He looked at himself as if nothing had happened just now.

Suddenly his smiling cheeks twitched, and finally he could only sigh, and said helplessly, "Forget it, I won't argue with you so much, but"

Having said this, Hu Di smiled and stretched out his finger to lightly flick the little novice's forehead, and continued, "Next time you let me see you being lazy and not doing the tasks assigned to you in the temple, see how I deal with you!"

"

The little novice nodded with a silly smile, but then the little novice reacted and asked with some confusion, "Brother, you haven't told me why you came to our place today?"

Suddenly he stood up with a smile, put his hands in his pockets, and looked into the room.

"I'm here to see the master, his old man."

When he said this, he suddenly smiled with a somewhat uncomfortable expression.

But the little novice monk didn't see this. He just nodded after hearing what Hu Dixiao said, and said "hmm" and then it was gone.

He smiled suddenly and nodded inexplicably, staring closely at the closed door. Those sharp eyes seemed to be able to see through the window and see clearly what was going on in the house.

The little novice plucking his fingers for a while, suddenly remembered something, and said with a smile to Hu Di, "By the way, brother, the senior brother just came and told me that he wanted me to go to senior brother Huineng's meditation room to listen to senior brother Huineng later.

Chanting sutras, then I will prepare first."

Suddenly he smiled and nodded absentmindedly, not sure if he heard it or not.

When the little novice monk saw Hu Dexia and nodded, he said goodbye to Hu Dexia and then trotted away.

After the little novice monk walked away, he suddenly smiled and let out a long sigh of relief, looked at the window, and said to himself

"What a disaster...what a disaster..."

"What trouble?"

Suddenly I smiled and an old monk wearing black cassock appeared next to me.

This old monk was holding a string of Buddhist beads in his hand, his eyes were already somewhat cloudy and dull, and his whole body exuded a gloomy aura of death, which really made people stay away from him.

But it was such an old monk who made people stay away from him. After suddenly smiling, he bowed to him very respectfully and said humbly.
