Chapter 1 Ore Town
Ore Town is a small place with a population of only a few dozen and a scale of less than a hundred miles.
In this era when the blue planet was not completely abandoned, it was once a raw material supply site for a large industrial base.
Going further forward, this was once the landing point for the first colonial rule, and the visitors from the sea were firmly stationed here.
If we move forward, this may be the territory of wild beasts or the territory of indigenous people. In short, this part of the unmemorized history has become increasingly irrelevant with the complete retreat of human beings.
But now, this ore town is becoming increasingly unworthy of its name.
The convenience of space mining is often proportional to the scale, and no one will ever transport ore from here and ship a boat of essential goods. Therefore, local residents have converted their products into agricultural, animal husbandry and food, textiles and clothing, smelting tools, wine, and imported goods are now limited to plant seeds, pots, pans and household appliances.
The autonomous organization formed by residents can only afford the expenses of one town mayor and one sheriff, and the other forest ranger is a part-time job for loggers. He likes to carve woodcut marks on his favorite wood while patrolling the forest ranger.
Today's daily life was still a peaceful day, until the sheriff Harris, who was wearing a tall hat, returned to the house from outside and woke up the mayor Thomas who was still sleeping in the tall backrest chair.
Thomas had a funny and snout on his fat face, and his eyes only took a moment from being unconscious to being angry. It was obvious that such a thing had happened more than once.
"I warned you Harris!"
Thomas roared in anger.
"Doctor Dort has diagnosed me. My illness requires adequate sleep. One hour of interrupted sleep takes two hours to make up for it!"
Harris was tall and thin, with a look of overly upright and a bit dull, and he exposes it without mercy as soon as he opens his mouth.
"Thomas, your case list was not given by Doctor Dot, but by Boss Dart, who joked with you after drinking too much. If you sleep, one day you will take everything in your dreams seriously!"
Thomas seemed to be in a deep thought, scraping his stomach to find the basis for refutation, but Harris was not willing to give him time to worry about.
"Enough Thomas, you must take back your ridiculous words before opening your mouth. Something fell from the sky outside! I guess the target is Ore Town!"
Hearing the words, the mayor was also shocked. He quickly opened the window and saw a shiny and glowing object outside looming in the air. There was no doubt that it was the fire generated by the friction between the aircraft through the atmosphere.
And as the signal lights that could be seen in the sun kept flashing, they were getting closer and closer to the town.
"You said...where did you say it would fall?"
Fat town mayor Thomas turned his head and asked Skinny Sheriff Harris.
There is no doubt that in the past, similar decisions in this town were made in the question and answer of these two people.
Harris narrowed his eyes, stretched out a hand, raised his thumbs upright, and gestured to the uninvited guest in the sky.
"I guess the river to the west..."
"Then it's all right." Thomas seemed to feel relieved. Drops of such aircraft once occurred frequently at a stage, especially those unattended satellites after humans retreated completely.
"As long as you don't hit the building..."
"……building?"
The sheriff and the mayor suddenly screamed.
"That ranch!"
………
I didn't expect Shining City to entrust interstellar transportation to an unknown trading company. From the boss's evasive eyes, I suspected that the boss was also an exiled prisoner in Shining City.
What I was even more suspicious was that the small-eyed and short-bearded boss warned me that I could not get close to the warehouse, which might be the same goods as me - people.
After only two days of interstellar travel, we arrived at the galaxy where the old world was located. During this process, due to the jump, the crew and I were in a long-term low-temperature dormant, and handed the sailing mission to the spacecraft's autonomous driving function.
In my dream, a bizarre text suddenly popped up in my mind. It was a book I had never read, a bunch of text I had never learned, but I clearly understood the meaning and started chanting it silently.
"In the past, Zhuang Zhou dreamed of being a butterfly, and he was a lifelike butterfly. He said that he was willing to be with him and did not know Zhou. He suddenly realized that he was a Zhou. He didn't know whether Zhou dreamed of being a Hu butterfly, and whether Hu butterfly dreamed of being a Zhou?"
As I was thinking about it, the distant memories in my memory suddenly turned into shining fragments of memory in front of me. Each piece was so real that I couldn't tell whether it was my illusion or the memories I had experienced in my previous life.
Zhuang Zhou dreams of a butterfly, or does it dream of a butterfly dream of a Zhuang Zhou?
Is it that I dreamed of my past self as the future world?
Or did I dreamt of me in the future game world?
The memories of the two worlds began to overlap slowly, forming a snare that could not be broken free, entangled me deeply, and each thought would be divided into two completely different selfs in conversation.
Until a huge vibration woke me up from my low-temperature sleep.
………
"Oh my God, someone airdropped someone with a transport warehouse?!"
When Thomas came to the edge of the ranch, he had seen a distinct area where trees were falling. In the center was a silver-white transportation warehouse, and the traces of high temperature burning on the surface were particularly obvious.
Harris carefully checked the traces of the transport warehouse and came to a conclusion.
"This is a modified airdrop transport warehouse. It starts to slow down at an altitude of 30,000 meters and starts to guide it accurately at an altitude of 1,000 meters. Finally, the shock-absorbing protective substance outside just evaporates and does not affect the personnel's escape."
"This technique is like an illegal smuggling gang. If you guess correctly, just click here..."
The sheriff skillfully found the button next to the transport warehouse and gently pressed...
"The cabin will open!"
As soon as he opened it, the sheriff saw a folder outside the transport warehouse, which contained two documents made of super fabric.
One is a relatively old land property certificate that proves that the ore ranch is owned by the certifier and its descendants.
The other is the identity certificate, showing that the man named Marcus was a direct descendant of Professor Marcus Shining City (Identity ID: 13502520654).
Thomas saw a more shining life bin in the middle of the transportation bin. After a flash of traffic lights flashed alternately, the glass lid opened immediately, and a young man slowly sat up from inside.
When the man looked at the abandoned courtyard outside with a confused look on his face, Thomas's fat face quickly had a self-righteous and funny smile, and said enthusiastically in a reading tone.
