454. Tranquility
Lance refilled the empty wine glass and poured the alcohol into his stomach:
"Daughter, don't you find it strange?"
Enid nodded:
"Your attitude is beyond my expectation."
Lance said:
"You came to me. When will a daughter who never goes to see her old father go see that sloppy old man?
"You have no choice, and despair is almost overcoming you.
"I'm an incompetent father, but I'm still a wise old guy.
"I don't know what happened to you, and I don't know what you are going to do, but I can guess that you were not having a good life some time ago. I can tell this just by looking at your face.
"And it's obvious that you are hesitant about what you are about to do. My suggestion is, don't rush into it. Do it after you have thought it through, calmed down, and feel that your decision is the right one.
"This is a mistake I made back then. I once made a decision under the shroud of fear that I feel guilty and regret for the rest of my life.
"But when my daughter comes, I at least hope that I can fulfill my responsibilities as a father to some extent.
"Even if it's too late."
Enid closed her eyes.
She felt strong sincerity, care, and love.
And relatively weak alertness, nervousness, and fear.
Her father is a very smart man, so he also felt that he might be in danger, but the positive emotions defeated the negative parts.
He saved two people.
Short-lived.
Enid asked again:
"Do you think there is anything you can do to help? Also, who was behind my birth?"
Lance looked directly into his daughter's eyes:
"The love between your mother and I is the most fundamental inducement. Even though that love was so illusory and momentary, it did really exist.
"Of course, someone must have induced us to fall in love directly, but I still want to tell you, no matter what the reason is, love is love, it transcends everything. Your birth is their plan, and it is also the love between me and your mother.
result.
"The two do not conflict with each other, they coexist."
Enid said:
"But there are still people influencing you behind the scenes."
Lance nodded and said:
"At first I thought he was from George. He has a very deep relationship with your family. Strictly speaking, you should be considered distant relatives.
"What I am sure of is that he and one of your ancestors may be brothers and sisters, but I don't know how much more. I just said that someone threatened me.
"I initially thought it was the person he arranged, but I have not wasted my time these years. I have actually been investigating the past.
"I think it's very possible that he wasn't the one who threatened me in the first place. Even if he wanted to stop me, he wouldn't be likely to use this method. Instead, there was another group of very dangerous guys hiding in the darker shadows, and they were dealing with it.
us."
Enid asked:
"You've never told anyone in all these years?"
Lance said:
"I don't think George knows at all, so who do I tell? With your mother? That would just make things more confusing."
Enid replied:
"You can tell me."
Lance said:
"I have been waiting for your arrival, and I didn't wait until today."
Enid knew he wasn't entirely telling the truth.
But he doesn't feel guilty.
Lance really wasn't telling the whole truth.
The reason he hadn't told anyone was simply that he was afraid.
He didn't know if it was an illusion, but he always felt that since that incident, there were always vague eyes crossing his position.
Someone is watching him.
He didn't tell anyone because he didn't want to anger the watchers who might have been his imagination.
But today is different.
My daughter needs him today.
Lance drank the strong drink in one gulp:
"Huh, I don't know who they are, but I think they do exist. There is a group that has infiltrated our country. I can't imagine what kind of organization it is? Obviously, they are definitely likely to overlap with many organizations, right? The Wizards Association?
The Order of Astrologers? The Order of Knights? Those three strange ancient families?
"I don't know who they are, but they seem to be everywhere. My child, you are facing a very dangerous enemy. You must be careful at all times."
Lance thought Enid was trying to find the truth behind it.
This is what normal people would do.
But she doesn't crave the truth, which can't fill her bleeding mouth.
Lance said:
"I don't know what you're dealing with, but if you're willing to share it with me, maybe I can help."
Enid shook her head:
"Father, go home, you...
"You did not do your best in some things, but you are not a derelict father."
Lance's eyes flashed:
"No matter what you're going to do, think about it."
Enid said:
"Someone is watching you. They are already preparing to attack you. I smell it. Goodbye, father. Hide until everything settles."
After saying that, she walked out of the cubicle regardless of Lance's dissuasion.
The noise disappeared instantly, and a deathly silence took over the world.
Then there were continuous screams and running sounds.
"Ahhhhh!"
Bones and flesh were separated, and the sound of soft objects falling to the ground was heard at the same time.
The smell of blood replaced the alcohol and filled the entire bar.
Lance slumped on the sofa and looked outside with distracted eyes.
Chapter completed!
